  1. Past hour
  2. Don't think there needs to be an outline around the badge but it's not drastic. At first I also thought the outline was yellow but I can see it's gold which looks a lot better.
  3. Great to see they're offering the kits as small as size 1-2.
  4. Scott Burns reporting in the Record that Oakley has agreed terms with Ayr and that his offer from them was 50% more than what we had offered. Must be crazy money as I am under the impression we had offered a very generous deal to him.
  5. The outline around the badge is pretty honking, but that only lowers it from a 10/10 to 9/10 top. It's a lovely kit overall, although obviously socks should always be hooped.
  6. https://www.smithsofgreenock.co.uk/product/morton-home-top-short-sleeve-2024-2025/ better view of top from all angles
  7. Fan of that. Please be hoops on the back.
  8. Absolute belter! Clean and simple, I quite like the tree outline around the badge, nod to old badge and like the gold and blue cuffs on the sleeves. Looking forward to playing find your name on the strip!
  9. Today
  10. Quietly sneaking the dot back onto F.C. on the badge. Not sure about that badge outline though.
  11. Wow, that is a thing of beauty.
  12. Didn't know Ayr Untied were money bags and if he does go to them it's grim right enough, but footballers have short careers and I don't hold it against him if he is offered something which is to good to turn down. It's definitely a side ways move IMO, Oakley was excellent for us and I would be sad to see him go but it's a reality of football money talks. Hopefully we don't lose any more I understand it was always going to happen but it's still a kick in the baws when good players leave and not sure who we will be able to replace them with.
  13. 1) We are not operating under January transfer window conditions (never mind the conditions when Muirhead actually signed) though. 2) For every two successes from that approach, there has also been one Steven Boyd or Ally Roy. 3)Jay Bird' has no actual stock value with his current club or in the Championship While I agree that it's a reality that the club will lose some key players every season and rebuilding is just part of the job - we need to do better than insisting that we can just unearth potential from erstwhile jobbers. Our run of success will likely run out eventually - but even if it doesn't, the inevitable crap that ends up in the squad will forever hold us back from a serious play-off challenge. There's a reason why clubs with that ambition are sniffing after our first team players instead.
  14. No, your 'point' is really tedious enough already. The idea that professional footballers/glorified Herbalife ambassadors are scratching a living is nonsense. I'd be willing to bet that a contract extension for every key player right now at GMFC more than covers the much vaunted 'cost of living crisis'. The idea that it is 'only natural' for employees to chase the biggest wage packet only and sod any other factors is also utter nonsense. A bizarre gambit used to wave away the sheer mercenary behaviour of professional footballers. The idea that supporters should not only justify the above but offer best wishes is worse than nonsense though - it is risible. What is your (or anyone else's) point in actually attending games then - presumably we should just flog tat merchandise every summer and then the club with the most cash gets declared the league winner? It is completely self-defeating for the actual fucking fanbase of a club to validate behaviour that is to the club's direct detriment.
  15. This bears repeating when everyone flies into panic that losing these players means relegation is inevitable even though we're not out of May yet. Oakley had 1 goal in 18 games that season, 6 goals in 60 games over three seasons when we signed him in January as a free agent who'd been punted by another Championship club. He then scored 6 in his first 8 for us. Muirhead's career Championship record before Imrie was 1 goal in 51 games (12 for Dunfermline, 39 for Morton). Under Imrie his Championship record is 26 goals in 85 games. His total career record in all competitions pre-Imrie was exactly 200 games & 25 goals, and 8 of those were in cup ties or playoffs against lower league opposition. With Imrie it's 104 games and 34 goals. It's very easy to look at the numbers Oakley & Muirhead delivered, and say it's impossible to replace them with our budget because it means we're ending up with dregs and cast-offs from other Championship clubs, but that's exactly what Oakley and Muirhead were when Imrie got hold of them. So was Crawford, so were Gillespie, Quitongo and Baird. If we end up with centre forward options of Jordan Davies, the rumoured Jay Bird, and the wingers are Michael Garrity, Jack Bearne plus another couple from the categories of released by another Championship team, picked up from League One or a teenage loanee, we can be fatalistic about that and say they can never replicate the contribution we got from the departing players. Alternatively we can recognise that that market is exactly where we found those players who've done so well that half the division are now chasing them; while it's not a signing that would particularly excite me either, if anything Jay Bird's stock is considerably higher than Oakley in January 23 or Muirhead in January 22.
  16. Yesterday
  17. It can be both. I left my last employer on good terms because I had a much better and more enjoyable offer elsewhere but I am sincere when I say I'm grateful to them and my department head there. With that said, Ayr? Joke club.
  18. All these meltdowns over nothing as yet. I'm slightly disappointed at Crawford leaving, happy at Muirhead moving on but I admit I'd be gutted at big George moving but as it stands I'm actually cautiously optimistic he'll be with us next season. Wasn't aware little Ayr were all that awash with money.
  19. Quite depressing if we are seeing players like Oakley go to Ayr instead of staying with us.
  20. As things stand Monday 22:57pm I agree Mr Blue's stance is the way to go here . Have to say when I saw Dougie's tweet... a deja-vu shudder ran down my spine ( Snake McKinnon episode).
  21. Ultimately all three of Muirhead, Crawford and Oakley may well be products of Imrie's style of management. None of them were setting the heather alight prior to coming to us (or in Muirhead's case, prior to Imrie joining the club). Who he brings in to replace them is of course the crucial part, but none of them are irreplaceable (even by mid-table Championship standards).
  22. A lot of overreacting here. If Oakley is offered a shitload more than we can offer then best of luck to him unless he's playing against us. I'm happy to hold off any opinions until something is announced by the club.
  23. I am talking about football in general so calm down now.
  24. Allow me to top your glass up Dunning..it appears to be half-empty. According to P&B .....yes. UPDATE: Ayr fan on P&B saying Dougie's Tweet has NOT been un-retweeted.
