SpoonTon
Points won from the other teams: ICT - 0 Dundee - 1 QotS - 7 Dunfermline - 0 Ross County - 1 Partick Thistle - 3 Raith - 7 Ayr - 6 Airdrie - 9 Points without head to heads: Ayr 26 Morton 19 Airdrie 19 Including without games against Raith: Ayr 21 Airdrie 14 Morton 12 Even though you could point out stats like this: Jenkins has played in 7 of our 10 wins but only 9 of our 20 losses. Reid has won in 2 of his 13 starts. Monti has won in 1 of his 13 league starts. Masterton has started in half of our wins. MacFarline has started in 3 of our wins. The truth is that we've just been awful against the better sides in this league.

The truth is that we've just been awful against the better sides in this league. You're so right, we've been awful against the 1st division sides, we have picked up most of our points against 2nd division class opposition. Grady (although he's done his best) is tactically inept and results against the top teams have proved that. Masterton should be in the team for his ability to get us free goals Jenkins isn't fit so its unfair to blame Grady for him not being in the team Reid isn't playing his natural position and its tough luck that McKinley is injured oh and we don't have a captain on the park ! Greacen is done !

Greacen is done ! It is patently obvious that last year Masterton had 20 odd assists and Finlayson had 3. Effort versus ability. I would have ability every time. Yesterday Finlayson was his usual p*sh self, out of position repeatedly and providing the sqaure root of nothing to the forwards. dunning1874
This is because against Airdrie, Ayr and Raith having better players can sometimes be enough to get us by, in spite of the tactics. Against the teams who are better than us we actually need the team to be properly organised. They never are. SpoonTon
Has Monti really had that many starts?! Maybe not, I'll just double check (i should know better than trusting certain sites). It's at least 14 starts though. Edit: 14 starts, 4 sub appearances in the league. 3 starts in cups.
ThornTON
Has Monti really had that many starts?! Yes, he has. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenock_Mort...ayer_statistics EDIT: These stats are 100% correct. I know as they are updated after every game. rawheed rex
if you look at the league we have been worse than the teams above us and better than the teams below us over the course of the season so far WOW mind bending.
SpoonTon
if you look at the league we have been worse than the teams above us and better than the teams below us over the course of the season so far WOW mind bending. Thanks for your input Out of interest, Ayr's Record: ICT - 2 Dundee - 2 QotS - 3 Dunfermline - 6 Ross County - 1 Partick Thistle - 7 Raith Rovers - 5 Morton - 3 Airdrie - 2 Airdrie's Record: ICT - 1 Dundee - 7 QotS - 2 Dunfermline - 1 Ross County - 1 Partick Thistle - 3 Raith Rovers - 4 Morton - 3 Ayr - 8 Morton are in the position they're in because of our record against the teams around us. It's not so much the case for Airdrie and it's definitely not the case for Ayr. That's a bit worrying. 2 teams have taken 12 points from us this season, and another has taken 10 (and Ross County could also make it 10 tomorrow). We've been completely outclassed home and away by these teams, even the teams below us have faired better. What is in our favour though, and the thing that should keep us up next week, is our record against Ayr and Airdrie. We're we would have picked up just about half our points total. Morton-Ayr-Airdrie Head to Head: Morton - 15 Airdrie - 11 Ayr -
