Just sw that Jonathan Toto's team play in a 21 team league that started on 31/9/12, takes a break 16/12 - 6/1 and runs until 13/7/13.

That seems like a much more reasonable calendar for second tier football than worrying about European competitions, etc.

First Vienna 1-2 SV Grödig

Skip to 1:51 on the video above to see former loanee David Witteveen open the scoring for SV Grödig in a 2-1 win at First Vienna from last Friday night. That win put them 2nd top of the Austrian Erste Liga, the equivalent of the Scottish first division, but much like our league, you get nothing for second place.

They travel to the league leaders Austria Lustenau tomorrow night, trailing them by 7 points with a game in hand.

Nice one Darren. Thought the big man was good when he was with us. He looks fitter now!

1 start, 4 sub appearances, 0 goals so far for the big man!

It can sometimes take a while to adapt to a different culture. Plus he's been unfortunate with injuries which has severely limited his playing time this year. He'll be top scorer and player of the year by the time the season is out - of that there is no doubt.

"McLaughlin has joined on a temporary basis until the end of the season after finding it difficult to combine playing with the Blue Toon and commuting from his Paisley home".

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that wouldn't be a great idea.

The last time they won a trophy was 1987, the year we last won the 1st Division...

Brilliant bit of trivia. Takes the sickener away from the fact that we are at our best for a long long time, but the gap on St Mirren isn't closing as they are at their best point by winning a national cup.

Hopefully what you say is an omen.

Well done St Mirren though. Lot of unhappy Hearts supporting friends tonight.

They are still only places above us in the league though, thankfully they didn't win a major trophy or we'd never hear the end of it... although it hasn't stopped the Raith fans from bleating about for what seems like centuries!
