Tom_McB
If this confused state of affairs has demonstrated anything at all, it's how little Scottish government and jurisprudence matters. Salmond and McCaskill are belittling both by showing how hopelessly prone they are to external influences. That's already clear. They want Indie- pence-dance. Yet will sell out to the Eu. Parcel o' Rogues. I don't care about that, it won't happen. I care that the pair of pricks make our justice system look to be bought and sold for libyan gold <_> Such a parcel o' rogues in a nation. <_> "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences."The goal of Socialism is Communism- Lenin Je ne suis pas Marxiste : K Marx
cmdc
A debate would serve little purpose. The decision is Kenny McCaskill's, acting on the advice he has given. I don't think the likes of Duncan McNeill would add anything worthwhile to the discussions frankly. It's not a party political decision, it's a government decision. He can answer their questions after the event, whatever he decides. Another benefit of that would be emphasizing to Labour and to Tavish Scott (is he the son of Hugh?) how little they actually matter nowadays. I understand where you are coming from, but I'm not asking for debte, I'm asking for scrutiny, be it from the parliament chamber, or from one of the parliament committees. What the parliament adds to the process is publicity (in the sense of shedding light on the decision making process, and the factors which influence it). I don't necessarily think that parliament should decide the matter, but they should have the power to ask serious questions of the minister responsible for making that or any decision. Tom_McB
Ask Tom McB. He likes to Anglisize all things.................. Whereas you seem to prefer to Americanize things. Tom_McB
Newsflash, he will be released within the next 12 hours. So a man found guilty by a Scottish court of mass murder gets out of Jail. That's OK, Eck and Kenny the Knut are selling Justice out for Money ( oil variety). What a parcel o' rogues indeed. Scotsguy40
As our Justice Minister will announce his decision on the Libyan tomorrow, if he is released or a prisoner transfer to his homeland then our Government needs to resign. What a slap in the face for Scotland and for the memory of those who lost their lives both in the air and on the ground. We've become the laughing stock of the western world. Watch out for news of a trade deal with Libya and Grangemouth expansion.

The Lallans is fine, the poem would lose almost everything in translation. I'm surprised at you Davie, don't you know that? Did you miss Burns lessons at school and in the Young Communists? michigan_ton
Media circus round the corner anyway, so something must be happening soon. I feel sorry for the guy, banged up for something he didn't do. Would've loved his appeal with the 'new evidence' to have gone ahead. Hopefully that evidence can be released to the public at some stage. "Only by understanding what a rebellion accomplishes can we see its limitations.
