dirty dingus
Went doon the back o t-mobile the day armed with luggies and razor fish as bait. Not even a bite luckily ah had radio 2 and a cargo to soothe me. Is there any fish left in the clyde? And if there are where. Mind you there was quite a lot o fanny out power walking to look at, summers in the post. Remember The Alamo --- MORTON 5 THE MIDDEN BUT
Tom_McB
Ronnies in Barrhill St? Is it still there? "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences."The goal of Socialism is Communism- Lenin Je ne suis pas Marxiste : K Marx

Behind the cinema is good ,there is 2 wee jettys coming out the pier ,you dont even need to cast that far out ,usually go there in the summer. The jetty nearest the cinema is best ,had a few decent cod, pollok from there, but would still hit the chippy as I dont think I could eat a fish out of there. Stevie Aitken's Love Child
I used to go fishing down there are lot 10-15 years ago, and the fishing was great then. Used to catch quite a lot of good sized Pollack and Coleys, and mind being down there at 5 in the morning with my Dad and he caught about a 10 pound Dogfish. We struggled to get it up the pier wall, and when we did the thing was bloody furious. Actually went for my dad, and got a hold of his trainer and wouldn't let go Went down there again about 3 years or so ago, and it was utter garbage like dingus says. Not even a nibble. I'll see you at 5'vs the morra on the bevvy at min but should have enough in my locker to cope wi the two bob barca boys. On fishing usually catch doon at t mobile think its time o year nae winter cod and nae summer pollock. Caught a few doggies down there last year on mackrel only thing is that every cast i was pulling in crabs, worse than harwoods for em. Always found it really snaggy at cinema and only ever caught tiddlers but heard o people getting nice fish around the green buoy. Boozehound
Ronnie can't still be alive surely? He must be about 120 if he is. Not sure mate, only ever went the one time - seeing the supper I had in reverse was enough to knock a return visit on the head. An internet fud is still a fud. Stevie Aitken's Love Child
Last time I was in Ronnie's, an old woman that worked there must have been at least 80. She took about 10 minutes to serve me a chip roll and gravy, it was hilarious to watch actually. Rush hour in there must be a nightmare.
maccaboy
I probably only have a fish supper three or four times a year, but the last few have been pretty disappointing. Last week tho I had one from Gianni's at the West Station, just round from Nelson Street, and it was the best in a long long time. Lovely big fish, dry crispy batter and a big portion of quaaality chips. They even got the amount of salt'n'vinegar right. Magic. "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right......."
