The inclusing of prone is a good thing. Battlefield 2 had prone as well. IIRC they removed it from the Bad Company games as they thought it gave snipers too big an advantage and encouraged camping... To balance it I think the snipers' crosshairs are less steady. I cannot stick proning wookies and occasionally just spend a round hunting them down so I can stab the filthy wee tregs. The general consensus from the hardcore BF guys is that BF3 (the beta at least) is a huge let down. By trying to entice COD players with a small, tight map they've shot themselves in the foot. BF is too sluggish and the guns too weedy to ever compete with COD on it's own territory, same way that Domination on COD is way too shallow to compete with Conquest on BF. Lovedaddy Posted September 29, 2011 Share Posted September 29, 2011 Had a good go on the PS3 Battlefield 3 beta last night and have to say really enjoyed it. The map is pretty big starting in big park in paris then into the subway and finally the streets. The graphics are good but not great and looks very like Bad company 2. The realism has been ramped up over BC2 with amazing gun and bullet sounds. The snap of a bullet flying past your head is amazing. And it still feels like your guy's been dipped in treacle when compared to COD. I'll never go back to PC gaming so it's MW3 for me - probably get BF3 from the bargain bin after Christmas. I'll give it a go on the PC eventually, my pal has roughly the same level rig as me and he says it's pretty good. There's only so much they can do with the console version though.
