  1. How do you know we didn't? I'm thinking we probably did offer them new deals but the players wanted to wait until the Summer. We secured Mullen and Wilson, I'd imagine we spoke to others too.
  2. Falkirk sold 1700 season tickets already, c***s!
  3. Aye agreed. If we are interested in an east coast based player but so are Raith,Pars, Falkirk etc, we've next to no chance of getting them. These guys will be settled and won't fancy relocating or doing an horrendous daily commute to the Port if they can avoid it. They'll be cases when it does happen, Jamie McDonald prime example but he probably didn't have an another option when we came calling. I hear Cammy Blues has bought a house close to the Falkirk Stadium, can walk to it apparently, wonder if there is anything in that. 100 mile daily round trip sounds painful during rush hour. Would imagine players who leave the likes of Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Livvy and St Mirren are more realistic for us as well as good out of contract players at Thistle, Airdire, QP and Ayr. We've had our fair share of ex Motherwell and Killie players over recent years, wouldn't be surprised if we pick up some more this summer!
  4. I'm the opposite. I quite like the idea of a clean slate. The squad has been around for a couple of years now and hasn't been good enough. It gives us the chance to start afresh and with an increased budget available, hopefully we can attract better players than the ones who leave.
  5. My "issue" with Muirhead (and Blues) is that they appear undroppable. Dougie simply plays them if they are fit, often in different positions even when they are completely off form. My worry if they both stay is that it will be the exact same next season. If they were used more as squad players, I'd be happy for them both to stay as they are both good players on their day. Not their fault Dougie plays them every week of course , but for me those 2 moving on wouldn't be a bad thing assuming we recruit well. With rumours of a better budget, I'm sure we can do that.
  6. Are Partick not fan owned now? Hopefully they now need to live within their means like we do.
  7. Yeah was about to say the same thing. I think we will have a competitive budget to compete next season. On course to make ~250k profit so I'm sure Dougie will be getting a chunk of that and Dalrada seem really bought in, Brian Bonar seemed very impressed when he was over for the cup game so hopefully he pumps similar amounts in next season, if not more. Be interesting to see what happens with Queens Park. Will Haughey continue to bankroll them to the same level? Not convinced. Inverness appear fucked and hopefully get relegated. No doubt Partick, Falkirk, Raith and Dunfermline will have bigger budgets but the league should be a cracker next year. Just hope Ross County don't come down and buy the league again.
  8. I think Raith will come down looking to play well and give them some momentum going into the playoffs. Their players will be playing to ensure they are in the starting 11 for those games. Think it will be about 3 weeks before their semi final so can't see them resting loads of key players etc unless they have niggles whereas I'd imagine most of our lot will be thinking about their summer holidays. A good few will know they aren't getting new contracts either. Comfortable away win for me. Raith -1 is nearly 4/1...
  9. That was a tough watch. Airdrie simply the better team and will no doubt clinch 4th. French and Power were the standout pish performers but most were poor. O'connor must be raging not being in the team. Garritys goal summed up our day. We need a response on Tuesday or we will be looking over our shoulder. Decent crowd let down badly.
  10. 50mph winds expected tomorrow. Our "direct" style might need to be amended slightly depending on how ridiculous it is.
  11. Quite enjoy playing QP, they can't get near us, 5 wins and 3 draws in last 8 games with Cal Ferrie at the wheel, the gift that keeps on giving. They can stay for me. Inverness to go down and never been seen at this level again!
  12. I'm hoping Raith are out of the promotion race by the time we play them( remember how shite we were once we knew the league challenge was over in 2013) Arbroath are relegated, their players have chucked it and are thinking about their summer holidays and Inverness are resigned to 9th on the last day so play kids to keep their first team fresh for their 1st playoff game. Easy 9 points right there for the last 3 games!
  13. Airdrie currently 2 up at Arbroath.
  14. Big Broadfoot didn't seem to impressed with it either!
  15. Dougie said before the Dunfermline game that Wilson, Oakley and Quitongo were all back on the training pitch so he might be back in contention soon. Would be a massive boost to have him back for the run in.
