#1130859 MCT Ask Me Anything

Posted by Madton on 02 December 2019 - 02:09 PM

So where are we with the debt cancellation? It was supposed to go in tranches of each £100K received, £500K would be written off. Has the first £100K been delivered yet? If so, has Crawford followed through with the write off? If not, is there something to bind him to follow through with it when that target is reached? What assurances are there that he will, or are we entirely dependent on his word alone? Aside from the debt, what is the input to the every day running of the club now a seat on the board has been secured? What’s the channel for passing concerns from rank and file MCT members through the representatives and onto the club?

The 1st payment was 6k and was only made at the end of Aug. If that 6k payment continued monthly ( which i doubt as people have withdrew) that would only make about 24k being handed over at most so i doubt we are anywhere near the first 100k.

We can pretend that it's MCT that have somehow managed to strike a deal with the board on the debt but in reality, Crawford said long before MCT was a thing that the debt would be paid off for any potential buyer so this isn't something new or inventive.

I'm investing in the hope that it helps the playing budget.

Livingston are not a bigger club than ourselves champ.

Can we really bang that drum now?

They have won a national trophy, played in Europe, had a few seasons in the Premier league, won the Championship, won the Challenge Cup all within the last 20 years...

What have we done? Square root of feck all.

30 years since we last played top flight football. Many on this board, including myself have never seen us play in the top tier!

We have more fans than them, but that's about it and even then, it's not by much these days! They have better facilities and many would argue a much better stadium( even if we prefer Cappielow)

Of course we have a greater history but so do East Fife! How far back can we cling onto?

Its feckin depressing but the reality is, we are a very average second tier club these days.

Think some are making far too big a deal about nothing here.

We announced him on the 23rd of May. His contract with Queens only had a week left, its not like he was signed 6 months before and we had to confirm it again.

https://gmfc.net/201...ract-agreement/

We announced it on twitter, we tweeted a goal he scored against us and  we tweeted "Welcome to Morton" in response to Jacobs tweet about joining us.

Only issue i can see is that there is no photo on the squad page!

Don't see an issue here at all.

Nothing beats getting a Morton notification through from Twitter thinking we have finally signed a defender only for it to be a plea to clean bird shi*e off the main stand....

Never change Morton!

He’s supposed to have fallen out with them because Gus McPherson has been given the job of bringing players in.

Goodwin knocked back Dundee because he was going to have a DoF above him running things so if its going to be the same at the skunks, im not sure he will take it.

Charlie Telfer signs for Falkirk.

Fraud.

Doesn't fall into the same category as the other two for me.

We treated him poorly and clearly he had to take whichever offer was available to him and you just knew the snake would offer him something.

Doesn't make it any better tbh. 1 goal in 37 last season.

Presumably not signed to score goals though so harsh judging him on his goals ratio.

In saying that,  Brechin's fans comments;

"Put it this way, I thought he could do something in pre season friendlies but I was wrong. He did absolutely nothing for us. Long season ahead for you guys."

"Do you need to know anymore that he was not offered a new contract by Brechin "

Will keep my £300 for now....

As long as we bring in a couple of better strikers to compete with him, happy for McHugh to be part of the squad.

Thought he put in some pretty decent performances despite the ultra defensive set up we continually deployed and did more work outside of the box than he did the previous season.

10 goals not a bad return considering how bad we were and hopefully Hoppy can get more out of him. If we get service to him, he will score goals, we just never created enough chances this season.

#1116854 Why do you hate Falkirk?

Posted by Madton on 25 April 2019 - 11:03 AM

There was a nasty head knock with Derek Collins, taking both of them out.

Collins was the first to get up and Falkirk fans booed him causing the cowshed to go nuts.( back in the day when the fence was up so we were really close to the away fans)

Keith got up later and of course we applauded him off the pitch.

That's certainly my memory of the incident.

Take it Gary Harkins is out injured? Was surprised to see him at Cappielow yesterday, rather than at the QoS game...

Maybe doing a bit of scouting as we have them next week.

“Allegedly” went on strike whilst he still had a year of his contract to run on the eve of the 2014-15 season.

So the hatred is based purely on a rumour, been here before!
