  1. That's the thing, I'm not even necessarily saying "technical head coach" is doomed to failure, or there's no role for it at Morton or another club. I'm just not going to be told "oh it's perfectly normal, it's like a DoF." It's completely one of a kind.
  2. If you want a laugh search Google for "technical head coach" in quotes. We made it up. It is 100% made in Greenock. Clydebuilt. An Inverclyde original, like James Watt or Catman.
  3. I'll stick my neck out and say that when Davies leaves, whenever that is, we won't hire another 'technical head coach.'
  4. It's not impossible that a club that loses its secondary benefactor would cease a DoF model, but given that a "technical head coach" is completely unique we have no idea whether or not it's contingent on the Dalrada partnership, or whether the position of "coach"-analogous-to-manager would exist without it, etc. The uncertainty is because they're making it up as they go along, which isn't necessarily a problem - every idea has to start somewhere - but it's pretty disingenuous to act like that's not what's happening.
  5. The fact that you have to switch the titles around to make it make any sense indicates that it actually is pretty unusual. Reporting to a "technical head coach" until the summer (then what happens?) is unique. It doesn't mean it's destined to fail but it is the weirdest system imaginable. If a DoF is set to leave in summer it's obvious what happens next - a new DoF comes in. If a "technical head coach" leaves do we advertise for a new one? No, probably not, since it's made up. This is the biggest problem of all. He utterly failed at full-time management, completely and totally, commanded zero respect from his players, set them up badly, and suffered a string of dreadful results. Because he's a nice, driven guy and because Billy's lurking in the stand like the Phantom of the Opera he's going to suddenly undo all that? Aye, stranger things have happened, maybe he'll prove me wrong, but IMO his limit is League One with a part-time squad, a big budget, and zero expectations of success.
  6. Additionally, cash-strapped Celtic just lost their fourth in a row.
  7. Tightened up nicely in the second half.
  8. What is the process that wasn't followed?
  9. Any halfway serious candidate will have an agent, and any halfway serious agent will know how to get their name through to the club. The lack of an ad isn't a factor.
  10. Hope you had a bet on.
  11. I'd probably have to say, The Best of the Morton
  12. What does a cash cow mean?
  13. I think when there's money on the table and the conditions are so poor, it's best to stick with a stronger lineup, particularly at the back. I don't see any particular need to 'blood' some regen who'll be back at Swindon soon. For our own goalkeeper there's a stronger case to make for rotation but given Storer's form I see no reason to rotate him out either.
  14. 30k is also worth it, if Hart had anything about him surely they'd have seen it in training.
  15. That's an absolute shanner, playing two kids in conditions like that. I know they're basically bottom of League Two (taking Edinburgh's deduction into account) but you still need to turn up.
