gretna_ed
Just like to clarify a few points to this 'story' Brooks has publicly stated he doesnt want to own Carlisle. As Nacho pointed out its the trust bringing the action Brooks is only a benefactor and not on the board of the trust At no point has it been mentioned that Brooks has had anything to do with the legal action and he hasnt came out and said he would pay the legal bills. If he truely wanted Carlisle utd why not speak to the current owner instead of a costly legal case trying to prove that the original sale between John COurtney and Fred Story isnt legal. FS and JC did nothing wrong in the sale of the club, the trust have a power to veto any decision about the sale of the club. The 3 members of the trust board didnt consult the rest of the comittee before agreeing to the sale and that is where the legal action stems from. Carlisle and Gretna wont merge as the thousands that follow Carlisle wont accept it. What you read on the Gretna message board is someone trying to stir things without a true grasp of the facts
HMS Willow
yeah, rangers and celtic are hoping to be invited to join the english premiership, they're not looking to buy a small english side and take their place in whatever league they're in. can clubs merge during the season or does it have to be done after the season's finished? and what about the carlisle players? where will they go? 11806[/snapback] As I stated before the clubs won't merge. A takeover would be able to happen anytime as it's just one company buying another. There would be a restructuring of the company and the players, Gretna and Csrlisle, either paid off / released or whatever in accordance with the SFA's rules. Some sing of Celtic, Rangers And some of Motherwell Of Hibs and Partick Thistle And other teams as well But of all the famous football teams There’s one that they’ve forgotten With a Ra Ra Ra and a Cha Cha Cha IT’S THE FAMOUS GREENOCK MORTON
brae-ton#1
I've also thought this would happen all along,Carlise are a big club if you compare them to some of the clubs in the Spl and if they were playing well and winning things they would attract big crowds. Guest ton_will_get_promoted
What happens if mileson does a runner and leaves gretna with all the bills? Just curious as he seems to have no connection with gretna other than the fact he is losing money over them.
Mortonbug
This seems like a logical step for Mileson to take and I would not be too surprised if it happened. They would quite likely have a bigger fanbase and pack an even meaner punch financially, but we'll soon see. "In a country lacerated by the sharp shards of broken brown-eyed promises, in a world bent low by the burden of disease, war and the price of Thunderbird, who is left to make full account of God and Britain's depleted moral mini bar? Yes, it's the surprising adventures of me, Sir Digby Chicken Caesar!"
