Tom_McB
Never, ever to the same extent and scale as Murdoch. And you should know that. Obviously not. You keep spouting it. BTW Don't believe everything you read in the Murdoch Times or The Torygraph. There's 'something about' Hari that they don't like. You don't thikl Rothermere and Beaverbrook had that influence? E A Blair knew better, and so do you. "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Guest David Edwards
You don't thikl Rothermere and Beaverbrook had that influence? E A Blair knew better, and so do you. Just how much of the media did Rothemere and Beaverbrook control compared to Murdoch? What did I say about extent and scale? Pay attention. A.C.L. Blair knew better, and so should you. Keep taking the drugs Mr E, Hari's our favourite leftist, a delusional liar who ends up looking like an eejit. He's the one you love to hate alright, because of the politics, not the plagiarism. TAFKAC
It's not just the plagiarism with Hari though, is it? Allegedly making up stories, according to the Eye. Very sad, and makes me reconsider anything else that I read and thought worthwhile. "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." I'll say this about Hari, as he's villified by both right and left, by the law of averages at least he must be hitting some nail heads squarely. TAFKAC
Which nail. The nail that disapproves of alleged lies and proven plagiarism perpetuating to be journalism. First rule of journalism - never be the story. Series 5 of The Wire is a great example of what results from that. "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. Nope, it's because he's a lying turdbag, you are of the left but are not a liar, thus I have no probs with your diatribes. Here to help Here to provide laughs more like. You know there was much more plurality in Beaverbrook's time. At the last count, prior to the closure of NOTW, Murdoch papers commanded a 39% share of circulation. Add that to his 'other' media interests and the transnational monster that is News Corporation and the the likes of Rothermere and Beaverbrook shrink into insignificance. Nope, it's because he's a lying turdbag, you are of the left but are not a liar, thus I have no probs with your diatribes. You've only recently discovered the allegations about Hari, but you've always been calling him names. Maybe because of politics I think.

But if he's made it up, or copied somebody else's work does it become meaningless or the nail missed? And i speak as a disillusioned ex-admirer of Hari. And i speak as a disillusioned ex-admirer of Hari. I don't think his anti-fascism was made up, but who really knows. At times it seemed that his was the only voice in the so-called quality press that railed every week against the capitalist-consumerist consensus. That's all that I admired. Edit to add: But what the feck anyway. It's brilliantly sunny and I'm away for a family gathering, grandson included, in Glasgow, that's all I really care about today.
