Guest Ghost
I spent four months down there with the RAF, its a bit like the Shetlands but with penguins. I also spent 2 years up in the Shetlands and loved the place, I wish I could say the same for the Malvinas Islands oops I mean the Falklands. Rossi Ha ha i dont blame you, mind you, tin huts when i was there many moons ago. Do the RAF still run the place down there ?, they hated us Jocks. Infact, on the old Coastel as we called it, they named a corridor after us and warnings of never to travel down it or you will get mugged by the Argyll's and take yer wallet

Trick37
i see argentina have made moves to the u.n. looking to extend their continental shelf beyond the falklands. when in trouble sometimes the spooks of old blighty conjure up wee wars. good for the economy you see, old boy. It was just a matter of time before they made another play for the islands. Keep your eyes peeled. Maybe you should send a force down and play war games..... Maybe you should send a force down and play war games..... Trick, Britain has had a military presence down there since 1982, as far as I'm concerned the Argentines have more right to the islands than we do, so let them have them. So what if there is a bit of oil down there, that's the reason your forces and our forces are in Iraq etc but our governments just won't admit it. Rossi I know that you've had a presence down there since 1982, mate. Just saying that if you intend to hold on to them, then (considering what's developing) maybe action should be taken to show that you won't tolerate any moves against the islands.....just saying. I know, as you do, why we're in Iraq.... "Throw me to the wolves, and I'll return leading the pack." ---Unknown "May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't." ---General George S. TonInDublin
Agree with Rossi here, Las Islas Malvinas Argentinas. Also wasn't surprised to see that the ice cream boys didn't like it due to the lack of a 5 Star hotel, meanwhile the pongos were happy to yomp across it and live under canvas. If it wasn't for the Jacks occupying the middle ground between the two ends of the spectrum feck all would get done. TonInDublin Two Uniteds but the soul is one, as the Busby Babes carry on. Tom_McB
Agree with Rossi here, Las Islas Malvinas Argentinas. So you disagree with the United Nations Declaration of a people's right of Self Determination. Shame, I felt you were a better fella than that. Wee Dublin End
I think the Falklands should belong to Argentina too, I mean, if someone like say, Brazil, owned Millport then I don't think we would be too happy about it.

Don't be daft. Go to Millport for carnival, cheap rum and gorgeous lassies on the Millport copacabana. Samba! Plus it would be a good source of cracking footballers. NewTon
It may be but it's not a very good one. I suppose you're correct, sir. Let's have a free Scotland and the Sassenachs can hang on to the Falklands. They may need them again. They came in very handy in December 1939.
