Sorry Cap but I do not agree with your red, white and blue take on it. I know too many people in the NHS who confirm a different view on events than what our political masters want the public to believe - crucial shortages of medical kit and as for our testing regime! We are reliant on people being willing to walk into danger hence why we owe a debt of gratitude to all in the NHS who know they are not fully kitted out but still do the job. Remember the current government even failed to join in a joint EU initiative to buy ventilators because they forgot to read their e-mails! As for preparation, this article is an interesting read - https://www.theguard...rly-implemented

As for the public, I remain to be convinced they get it. I was walking the dog in the sunshine earlier today and watched as people had picnics on the beach, folk crowded together on benches, kids played in the bunkers on the golf course - social distancing my arse.

There is no right answer to this issue other than to hope that whatever is decided is the optimum solution to wind up the most easily offended.

In order to step into line you quite clearly were out on your own - making nonsense decisions like an absolute tadger - in the first place. Your blind faith in the UK Government’ deference to experts doesn’t stand up to a comparison with any other European state right now.

Fun fact: Austria has just announced the closure of all public schools and banning the gathering of more than five people. It’s also added the UK to Italy and Spain on its travel blacklist, in another vote of confidence for the UK’s super expert handling of the situation.

I assume English is not your first language?

This thread just highlights that like everyone out there none of us knows what will happen, what is the best course of action and what will be the end result. We can at least agree on one thing - we all like pointing and laughing at each other.

You do realise that the UK government is talking about inviting former doctors and GPs out of retirement to assist, as necessary. Just imagine Capitanus if you are required to head in for an assessment and an auld jakey in a white coat asks you to drop your trousers.

At the time the words used were "partially forgive the debt"; a debt entirely down to DDFR's stewardship of the club. Don't get me wrong, I have always accepted DDFR acted with the best intentions but at the same time, we are where we are because he wanted to play football manager and no-one on the Board had the balls to challenge how this played out in the accounts. I also still maintain if DDFR wanted to leave the club debt-free it would have been written into the will.

More chance of Morton becoming a top league team than our beloved local and national politicians showing leadership and vision. As long as there are horse statues the peasants will be happy.

#1131492 Club statement- Gambling on football

Just because something is common, it doesn’t make it right.

I never said it did. In this instance though, I have no issue with the action taken by the club.

Poor form, if true. Although the club does like to hide behind letters.

His decision to ignore the rules and bring the club into disrepute. I trust the club asked for the Ariel back.

What remains to be seen is if the MCT funds are really 'new' money or it is just picking up the shortfall within the existing budget, as the Rae family has turned off the tap. I suspect the monthly flows from MCT will hold up in the short term but if no evidence it makes a difference to the playing squad, the flow will turn into a trickle. For now, my hands remain firmly in my pockets.

They had one majority shareholder when he had the three year plan so he didn't really have to although he probably should have looked at contingency. I'm pretty sure he didn't expect his dad to die so quickly though.

Circumstances have changed and he's announced publicly that the debt would be cleared when he knows the situation which isn't now reliant on one person. It's two different scenarios.

And I've not once said the agreement won't go through shareholders but he's obviously got a good understanding of what they will and won't agree to have mentioned it. Once there's something concrete to discuss then that's the time for him to get formal agreements from them.

I'm pretty sure anyone who had seen DDFR at Cappielow before he popped his clogs would not have been planning for the next three years! I still struggle with Crawford putting forward a three-year business plan when he must have known his dad's assets would be split between family members - most of whom clearly have no interest in the club. In the circumstances, how much faith should we place on Crawford to deliver on any of his utterings?
