  1. Knicker wetting about a goalie coach might be a new low for this forum.

  2. Well no we don't - they're hardly going to say 'by the way, my current goalkeeping coach is utter shite' in a standard interview are they? I'm not saying that's the case with Scott but plaudits from a player while contracted are as meaningless as plaudits given to 'Hoppy', McInally or any other inspirational presence/total dud. More generally - not aimed at your specific post - I can't really get worked up about one person leaving their job when we have no idea what the plan is yet. The willingness to jump to negative conclusions from some quarters at least every single time news comes out of Cappielow right now is getting tiresome. If this is how we're going to react right now then fan ownership will die on its arse the moment where we actually suffer a serious setback like relegation.

  3. The business development exec is there purely for the purpose of generating incremental revenue for the club. The payment is commission based, so I think it’s fair to say that whoever gets the job will only be staying in it if they generate new income for the club which more than covers the cost of the position. Is it “absolutely neccesary”? No, probably not. But we spent 20 odd years under the Raes ignoring the commercial side of the club and look where it got us. Focusing on this sort of thing will only serve to strengthen our financial position in the future, and reduce the clubs reliance on fan hand-outs & favourable cup draws to turn a profit

  4. https://www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/sport/i-told-liam-i-might-see-him-in-scotland-307506/ Decent article on Lamar Reynolds and his move to Morton (referenced way too often as Greenock). Interesting to hear him say he spent a lot of time playing wing back with Maidstone, can't imagine he'd be playing that sort of role with us.

  5. I wouldn’t be overly concerned about the club filling positions on the business and commercial side of things in and of itself. Maybe the frequency of turnover of non-playing and coaching staff could point to issues, or maybe it’s just been an unlucky spell for the club in losing people who were performing well to more lucrative contracts elsewhere. Overall I would say I’m happy for the club to be looking to recruit people who’ll be really motivated to move things on for us off the park and hopefully generate income that can go towards helping us on it.

  6. We've no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Could be a whole host of reasons why hes moving on- personality clash, work ethic, couldn't agree terms on a new deal or maybe just maybe Dougie has identified someone he believes is better at the job. Agree with SpoonTon as well, he worked with good keepers, can he really claim he made them better, I'm not so sure. Jack Hamilton had been in Scotland squads, Schwake had been out on loan and impressed at Annan and was highly thought of at Livvy and Mullen looked the part almost instantly. I'm not sure we know for sure he's been fantastic and successful etc, he may well have, but we only see him doing his work for 20-30 mins on a Sat. We need to trust that the manager knows what he's doing, he works with his staff and players every day and knows their strengths, weaknesses and personalities a hell of a lot more than us. Good luck to the guy, hope he find something.

  7. Not really relevant to Championship anymore since relegation, but i wasn't passing up the opportunity to remind folk of that, Kelty apparently dont even own the pitch earmarked for ICT to train on and now Fife council want to weigh up their options since they own it. Not only have they managed to alienate the local bumpkin natives, their plans aren't even water tight. Wonderful.
