  1. Biggest cheer of the afternoon & well deserved. Definitely the highlight of the day
  2. Shaw was always going to come on if we were still looking for a goal, considering the lack of other attacking options on the bench. He was ok - there weren’t any “WTF SHAW” moments and he did some good defensive work as hamcam said so fair play to him for that. Im surprised so many on here are saying McPherson was shite - I thought he had a good game. Quite a few folk around me were shouting for Gillespie to be hooked too - he did misplace a few passes but overall I thought he was excellent too.
  3. Ref was absolutely dreadful. Allowed Raith to get away with persistent fouling and gave us nothing the entire game. On the balance of play it feels like we should have won that but you can’t win games without scoring and we didn’t really give their keeper much to do. Lopota-white had a good game and looks like he will be a solid signing. Imrie took a bit of abuse from the shed when things were getting heated near the end so I though it was a touch of class that he still came over to applaud the Morton fans with his hand on heart after the match.
  4. I’m a wee bit concerned about our defence here. Assuming shugs filling in at CB blues is going to need to put in some shift if our midfield isn’t going to be overrun. On the flip side it’s a very attacking lineup and good to see the new boys getting a start.
  5. Accounts from whom? Are you suggesting that he is back down at wolves playing for their u21 as opposed to being injured, or do you mean that the injury occurred when playing for them?
  6. are you talking about people figuring out who this guy is, or are you suggesting that this is part of something bigger that’s going on? How is this related to MCT? Sorry I'm not being disingenuous here I’m just finding your posts about this a bit vague and would really like to understand what you are getting at
  7. Might be easier if you told us or even gave us a clue. I’ve looked on LinkedIn, companieshouse, FB & X, can’t see anything out of the ordinary. Looks like he has previously had a couple of coaching roles (with sfa and st Mirren women’s team). Assuming it’s the same person he has made a few appearances on the sammons pizzeria podcast too. What are you getting at?
  8. I think we need to be very careful about naming anyone on here regards to the legal action. We can all search back and see what has been said by certain people in the past, but whoever is behind the legal action, I expect they wouldn’t be able to comment (for the same reasons MCT didn’t give any comment on the matter). We don’t want to open the forum or ourselves (or by extension MCT if any posters are members) to allegations of cyber bullying/witch hunt type behaviour.
  9. Difficult to say without knowing the specifics of the case, but in more general terms I assume they could stand to make some financial gain if the case goes in their favour. Maybe also a moral victory if they feel they have been somehow wronged. The flip side of it this is at what cost would it come? Once the details become known I would expect the individual to become a pariah who would not be able to show their face at Cappielow again.
  10. Sorry I didn’t mean that you or chicken soup got it the wrong way round in your comments - that was the question that was asked last night. I meant that the question last night was asked the wrong way round and should have been more like “Presumably Laird & Robinson chose to leave because they knew Dalrada wouldn’t be around to keep them in place?” Etc I definitely have less of an issue with Robinson too, but wasn’t happy with his place on the board being propped up. He also didn’t deliver on the promised 6 figure increases in commercial revenue or increased uptake of hospitality. He was the guy who brought Dalrada to the table though so should be given credit for that at least
  11. I thought at the time that the question was almost asked in reverse. Eg instead of Dalrada leaving because Laird & Robinson walked, maybe the opposite happened. It isn’t a massive stretch to think that 2 guys (both massively unpopular among the fan base, who were only still there at all on the demand of Dalrada, and who ostensibly achieved nothing during their time here other than wasting money & contributing to the toxic atmosphere within the club while never being held accountable for their performance) saw the writing on the wall with the deal coming to an end, and jumped before they were pushed. One of them used baseless claims of personal threats & abuse, the other one did so in a more dignified manner.
  12. Totally agree & I did my best to articulate this, although I wish I had also mentioned the timing of last years renewal option which understandably pissed a lot of people off as it basically amounted to “take it or be left with nothing” only a few weeks from the start of the new season.
  13. I’m sure I will have missed some stuff but off the top of my head the main points covered were - 1. MCT has been notified that an individual intends to take legal action against them. For obvious reasons no more info could be disclosed or questions answered, but it was stated that the legal costs, and any other payouts if the verdict goes against MCT, would need to be covered by MCT funds (so in other words would come at the cost of payments to the club). 2. Update on the first few months in role for the newly elected MCT board, and on the changes to the club board since the last meeting. 3. Dalrada funding - due to end after next season. Next seasons funding will be reduced to £288k. This sum is dependent upon renewals of certain players contracts which had an extension option. 5 out of (I think 8 or 9 in total) are ones that the club are in control of (eg if we take up the option then the players cannot opt out) and Murray has said he wants to take up all 5 of these. Depending on the outcome of the other pending renewals, the funding may decrease. Even if we only end up renewing the 5, the total amount will still be significantly above the going rate for a main sponsor at our level. It was stated that the gaffer also has a playing budget for next season which is independent of this arrangement. When asked why Dalrada are pulling funding, the major reason given was that Brian felt there had been a lot of negativity about the sponsorship and that it was a good time to end it (I highlighted that people were grateful for Dalradas involvement and that the negativity was about his insistence on Laird & Robinson being in place, and on how wasteful the spending had been, leaving us with nothing to show for the money spent). Also next season Dalrada will only have home shirt sponsorship so there’s an opportunity for the club to find new sponsors for 2nd kit & stadium naming. Hope was also expressed that we might be able to get Dalrada back to the table - either to reconsider and extend beyond next season, or to put some funding into capex projects like stadium development (so that a lasting legacy would be there). 4. Cappielow 150 - creation of a new fund & money raising campaign to do some upgrades on Cappielow in time for the 150th anniversary of the stadium in 2029. Also some good updates here from Paul Farren on work that’s being done to make maintainence & upkeep costs more predictable and ensuring they are fully budgeted for). 5. External funding/potential sale of GMFC shares. The company was not named but it was stated that the investment was “significant, but not quite Dalrada levels”. It was mentioned that the company is involved in the sports management/analytics space and that more details will be disclosed in the next 1-2 weeks prior to a member vote on the proposal in early March. Obviously more information has come out since then in the tele and via the Estrella website and socials.
  14. I’ve had a few failed attempts at answering the “what’s in it for them?” question but ended up not posting them because the post was getting too long. Thank you for succinctly getting across the point I was trying to make
  15. Scraped this from the LinkedIn of Estrella founder & CEO Xander Czaikowski. …. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PEC Zwolle 2022 - 2025 3 yrs Zwolle, Overijssel, Netherlands As CEO of PEC Zwolle, I led the club’s transformation from recovery to sustainable growth, combining sporting success with financial stability and a clear long-term vision. On the pitch: Implemented a three-year performance strategy built around Promotion, Consolidation and Progress. → Achieved immediate promotion to the Eredivisie with record points and goals. → Secured 12th place in the first Eredivisie season, ensuring top-flight stability. → Finished 10th, just two points short of European play-off qualification. Off the pitch: Delivered a complete organizational turnaround focused on brand revitalization, financial recovery and operational excellence. → Defined a new mission, vision and brand manifesto. → Rebranded with Adidas as premium kit supplier. → Signed a €3M main sponsorship deal and achieved record commercial revenues. → Realized the highest transfer income in club history. → Sold out season tickets three consecutive years. → Strengthened relations with the municipality and the KNVB. Under my leadership, PEC Zwolle became a modern, profitable and ambitious Eredivisie club with a clear upward trajectory …. As others have said above, Estrella hasn’t yet got much of a track record for us to look at, but his own experience in football is very impressive. I’m starting to lean towards this being something that could be very exciting to get involved in.
