Not being a member of MCT, I am merely an interested fan and shareholder reading the comments with interest and dismay. None of the three stakeholders come out of this debacle with much if any credit. It does not give me any confidence in the running of the club going forward. As Dunning has stated, without Dalrada paying some of their debts in the next couple of months we will struggle to pay our outgoings. We all know where this leads. As fans we can raise some emergency funds but without major investment or sponsorship it is difficult to see how we can fulfill our football and financial obligations this season. In the circumstances, I do feel for the club employees who are desperately trying to hold it together. I also have sympathy with Murray and the players who are caught in the middle. Murray may have done a dreadful job but considering what we now know what chance did he/does he have? Oh well at least we can rely on the bus brothers, the legendary 10 local business men (are there still 10 businesses going locally?), the four riders of the apocalypse, Jesus and the disciples, Catman, Chris McEleny... to come to the rescue.

The way the meeting is heading I suspect you turn up and get given a dart to throw. If you get an odd number you are counted as a yes and an even is a no. It just means there is more time to talk about pies.

Astonishing members are being invited to vote on an agreement that has no agreement. Rather than every statement and/or comment from all parties providing clarification they just result in more questions and confusion. What concerns me is Estrella appear to be moving away from their initial business model and are instead now throwing the funds into the transfer budget and engaging another potential Laird on the payroll. As for the Dalrada money, I am none the wiser on exactly how much is overdue and what will be due. I thought our start to last season was shambolic...

If you think Morton are in a difficult financial position, I give you Dalrada. Unless something unexpected happens we will never see a penny of the £340,000. In the circumstances, it is no surprise Estrella has moved the goalposts. I think if what is now proposed was put to members at the outset it would have been rejected. The problem is without new significant financial support Morton are in a precarious position. Even the most positive fan must be struggling to see light at the end of the tunnel.

I am no fan of Murray. Like many others, I thought he should have been binned at the end of last season. It might not have been a squad he assembled but it was an embarrassment watching us stumble over the line to stay up. The start to this season has been shambolic, once again, and while Dalrada are the bad guys, the Board does not escape criticism. Is paying off Murray or putting him on gardening leave realistic when we do not have anything in the bank? Who would want the job if he got punted in these circumstances? The only hope I can see for now is the Estrella deal goes through but by then it might be too late to give any manager a chance at survival.

The much trumpeted white knight Dalrada has shafted us. The man they stuck in the hot seat left at just the right time - for him.

I'm not sure what people expected today. We are only able to put a team on the park by fielding schoolkids and players carrying injuries. Since the first game of this campaign, I am just hoping we do not get hammered every week. I'm not the biggest fan of Murray but with our squad and the lack of available cash to sign anyone decent we are already doomed. What is it going to be like in a couple of weeks when the kids go back to school - do we have eleven fit bodies to fulfil fixtures? In the circumstances, all I expect each week is to see effort on the park - I thought this was evident last week and today. We just don't have the quality and experience with the current squad. None of this is an excuse though for the bellends in our support who spent most of the match abusing rather than supporting the team. As for the lad wearing a Celtic strip to the game... Even with some money from the Estrella deal, I don't see things getting much better. A goal might help.

I am surprised at the optimism of some fans for this fixture. Last week was a welcome improvement in performance but Stenhousemuir has started the season well and battered us last time out - not a great start to the Murray era. I am just hoping to see us score.

A very strange signing given our budget. Murray doing himself no favours.

Greenock Morton v Partick- League Opener

Ultimately we lost the game but it was a much improved performance from the cup games. No-one could doubt the effort today but the final third is desperate stuff hence no goals now in six games this season. Even more depressing is it is only one goal in our last nine games. We never did enough to win but Thistle looked to get lucky with a foul, the officials never saw, in the build-up to the goal. Despite hitting the bar twice and the post once, I never felt we were being cut open as so often has been the case under Murray. Losing Longridge to injury never helped - it did not look great as he hobbled off the pitch. In terms of the positives - it was a relief having a keeper who gave the defence confidence, we had more than one shot in the direction of the goal (none on target), the more experienced players all put in a shift with Wilson showing how important he is to the team and the young lads stood up well to the challenge. Hopefully we have more bodies and a degree of confidence going in to the Stenny game. We really need to see some goals and points on the board. One final comment, I realise we are skint but I don't think we will save much cash by rationing the chips at the food kiosk. Remind me not to bother next time. -
We are apparently losing out on loan deals as we cannot offer any/minimal contribution so if the Estrella/MCT proposal helps get some much needed bodies in it has to be welcomed. As long as people acknowledge the folly of wasting money on a bloated squad of duds as happened with the Dalrada money.

I did laugh when Murray said early in this week's interview everyone including the fans should be excited at the start of the new season. Given the man's previous interviews and the shambles of the cup outings, I have never been less excited for the start of a campaign. I am just hoping we do not get embarrassed most weeks. -
DunTon - I look forward to meeting you at Ochilview. I will DM you nearer the time.

I am in the middle of a clear out and have 53 Morton home and away programmes from 2002-2007 looking for a new home. Very useful if you want to see where we are probably heading in the seasons ahead. Not being local it will have to be a handover at a game. For my sins, I am intending to make the Partick game on Saturday and will be at Ochilview the following week. Anyone interested?
