  1. Comms were much improved under Russell - I assume we will be back to the bad old days. I assume though Russell is now more able to freely express himself without the constraint of being on the MCT Committee.
  2. To be fair a pay off tends to be the norm.
  3. I believe Murray is in the Tele today suggesting there is no more player budget and we will be entering the season with the current squad. This is why he has not been hammering the squad. No surprise he is begging the Board to look down the back of the sofa for anything. How does all this financial doom and gloom square with the message after the Airdrie game, the rumoured five figure bid for the Montrose lad, the last update from Mark Kelly... ? Is it unreasonable to expect someone from the GMFC and/or MCT to come forward?
  4. Remember after the Airdrie game Murray promised the fans things would get better this season? I am not sure what he meant by better as the league season has not even started and I sense most fans have already chucked it. If the Estrella deal does not happen I fear we are on a slippery slope. Even if it costs us Murray has to go.
  5. Apologies I got ahead of myself with Kilmarnock. I saw Neil McCann down the High Street today and should have asked him. Fair play to him he is in decent shape.
  6. We are committed to pursuing a partnership with Estrella and have to see how it plays out. In saying that, I have never been convinced the fan owned model will work for a club like Morton - we have too small a fan base. None of that though is an excuse for the current dire strait of Cappielow. The stadium reeks of neglect and the tone of Murray in interviews is expected little this season. No wonder the mood of the crowd on Saturday was resigned pessimism.
  7. And in other news Rangers, Hearts and Kilmarnock have all now agreed cooperation agreements with other clubs. Even more doors getting slammed in our face.
  8. You could ask the same question about most of the squad.
  9. I had low expectations today but I was still unprepared for the mess of both Cappielow and our squad. At least I now know not to waste my time on Tuesday travelling to Fife. Linlithgow thoroughly deserved the win and were unlucky it was not a wider margin. They out thought and out fought us for most of the 90 minutes. We were a shambles and it looked as if our pre-season involved training for walking football. Defensively we were all at sea, our midfield hardly won a tackle and up front we looked as toothless as last season. Difficult to believe we were the full-time team. Once again we can write off a League Cup run. I just hope we do not get thumped in the remaining fixtures - it is a real possibility. Without better signings things already look grim for the season ahead. The apathy in the club was shared by the sparse crowd who struggled to even find the anger to boo. From what I have been told I don't think Murray's after match comments in the Tele will help.
  10. We cannot even afford to cut the grass.
  11. Morton cancelled not CSS.
  12. Delighted that Moffat and Comrie are moving on but disappointed we have to suffer another infuriating watch next season as Garrity does what Garrity does. If you wanted any further proof we are at the bottom of the food chain this is it.
  13. I think we have to be realistic about the pond we are swimming in. Even in the Championship we appear to be among the lower payers. The reason Delaney, Moffat and the others who have not accepted new terms are off is because they either have or expect to receive better offers. Realistically we will struggle to get a better standard of full-back or winger but hopefully find replacements more suited to the style of football Murray wishes to play.
  14. A more interesting friendly. A ground many fans will never have visited and a chance to see the new players and trialists
  15. We are clearly working on a much reduced budget this coming season. As this is resulting in many of the squad looking elsewhere we might get the squad reset we were promised by default. It promises to be a challenge for Murray. It also highlights how Imrie failed to spend wisely last season.
