I really enjoyed that game - the workrate and fight from those players under Murray is incredible. Thought the opening minutes were spent camped in our half and Dunfermline looked pacy up front, but after that we never looked back. Excellent first goal and great work from Cammy to win the penalty (and a "FFS" to Gillespie for that effort). We won nearly every 50/50 and linked up really well. Second half we got a break when the Pars hit the post. As for the red card moment, I honestly thought the referee was playing on at first - perhaps he was checking with his linesman that there was no offside first - but it was a clear red. Second penalty looked soft at the time, although photos suggest it hit the elbow, and I was surprised that Moffat didn't take it. After that the Dunfermline substitutions seemed to cancel out the extra man and I expected to concede when Kane came on, but Lopata-White kept him vey quiet. Huge three points.

I was impressed by the way we fought, just as with the Ross County game. In the first half of the season we'd have lost that game. Liked the look of Main - has a bit of pace on him and seemed to offer advice and encouragement to the younger players. Lopata-White looks a find, though - I thought he settled into the game very quickly. MacPherson did well covering for Blues in a game which had 0-0 written all over it. Highlight was Wilson's poor touch for his non-cross, which gives an idea of how the game went. That and Brown spitting the dummy when Ballantyne only received a yellow for bringing him down. Garrity was presumably hooked as he was most likely to be sent off, but Shaw did little when replacing him. Raith were horrible to watch and hard to break down. Despite the singing aimed at him from the 12-year-olds, it was a nice touch to see Dougie acknowledging the home support at full time, by which time most of the away support had left when he went over to applaud them.

That was the best I've seen us play this season. Agree with others about Delaney but generally no-one put a foot wrong today. Storer had one vital save from the one-on-one at 0-0 but otherwise I thought we kept them quiet. The game turned after our 2nd goal and we couldn't get out of our half, but at least we defended fairly well. County looked a poor lot, despite us visibly tiring late on.

Arbroath vs Morton 23rd January

Dreading turning my telly on for this one. -
On the radio Jim Duffy said that our game was one he had picked out for a shock, only for Tom English to question whether it really was a shock.

Well, the tl;dr version is that today's result is the worst since the war, unless losing to a side who are two tiers below us or non-league is considered worse. The Scottish Cup shame games are - 1949 Clyde (N) 0-2 (this was a replay which was moved to Ibrox) 1970 East Fife (a) 0-1 1993 Arbroath (a) 0-3 1996 Montrose (a) 2-3 (replay played the day after the original tie. Wylie was sent off) 2001 Peterhead (a) 1-4 (two leagues below us) 2008 Peterhead (a) 1-2 2014 Spartans (a) 1-2 (our only cup defeat to a non-league side) 2019 East Fife (a) 1-2 Four fecking nil - Murray has really got his work cut out with this squad. Sounded drained on the radio there.

I'll see what I can find. This is only our 2nd SC defeat to Stenny. Both came with them a league below us, albeit in 1933 there only were two league.
-
Peterhead did us 4-1 in 2001 - and they were new to the SFL. This is worse IMO.
-
And now we've squandered a penalty.

Played for the midden, so automatically labelled for life. Some laugh when Wylie saved his penalty in the 3-2 game.

I can only find a few goals by Boyd, two in the league (Firs Park and another in a 7-2 win over Stenny at Scapa). He did score a 40 yard effort give us a late 3-2 win over Bronshoj Boldklub in a friendly. Possibly mixing up two goals. The goal against Arbroath was in 2003-04, he was over at the stand when he took the shot. The other was this one in our first game of the season in 2001-02 against Stenny, when DDFR had taken over. Apologies for the poor quality. Scott Bannerman.mp4

It was a wonder goal, but I didn't applaud that because it was Charnley. Wylie was well off his line too. Can remember applauding a Cowdenbeath goal which was an 18 yard overhead kick at the WDE.

Didn't think I'd ever be watching Match of the Day and see Jaze Kabia scoring on it.

I’m in hospitality tomorrow so naturally it’s going to be called off. FFS.
