I was thinking more along the lines of a new logo being applied using the heat press used for name and number sets - there will be one at Cappielow and at Smiths. That would leave us with a sponsor applied in the same fashion as many, or even most other teams who don’t have the logos sublimated. These sort of things can be applied with a regular household iron, but are easy to make a mess of and could result in a number of ruined shirts that people will want exchanged! Could be that we’d actually have to wait until there’s final, official confirmation the outstanding monies won’t be coming (e.g. Dalrada get wound up) before we summarily dismiss every trace of their name and existence from the kits and ground.

Hopefully another business can be brought in to sponsor the home jersey and have their logo cover Dalrada. Allow anyone who purchases the jersey the option of having it added. A particularly benevolent sponsor may be happy to foot the bill for the printing as part of their deal.

Even better, then! A good demonstration that Transfermarkt aren’t always 100%, particularly with lower leagues and U18s, etc.

Quick look at his appearance stats suggests he’s a left sided defender. Another who’s primarily a centre back, but has played left back. CBs at full back seem to be pretty popular these days, maybe that’s Murray’s plan too.

There was an issue with his accommodation too. Part of his initial deal was putting him up in the club’s own flat or one they were renting, with his wages relatively lower to reflect that. He was looking for somewhere else he could make more his own home but I understand they couldn’t help him with any contributions to rent or bills nor increase his wages given the financial constraints. Ultimately I think he and his family have decided he’s best served going back down the road and looking for a fresh start elsewhere. He’s a good lad. Hope he does well and finds somewhere he feels happy and settled.

I noticed he’d made 3 of his 7 appearances in Qatar at LB and managed his only goal while playing there. He’d never played in defence previously, going by Transfermarkt. Prior to that loan he’s been principally played out wide in advanced positions, mostly on the left but with a reasonable amount on the right too. I only really consider Ballantyne as a specialist full back in our squad. Longridge seemed poised to be first choice at left back, which was odd having played essentially a full season as first choice centre back for us last term. Obviously he played a good deal,of his career prior to joining us at left back, but he really looks like he no longer has enough pace to play full back and I’d assumed he make a permanent transition to the central position.

A striker would be nice, right enough.

The risk element I was perceiving was from one summary that suggested Estrella could simply pull out of the agreement at any time without penalty. Though I don’t know if that’s accurate, right enough and, as you say, that could be somewhat mitigated by the shares defaulting back to MCT and the surrender of Estrella’s places on the board. I’d ideally hope there would be some sort of safeguarding against a similar situation where the tap is simply turned off as it has with Dalrada. The major difference is that Estrella are football focused and it’s in the best interests of their long term plans to make a success of their investment in Morton, whereas Dalrada’s interest seemed primarily down to one man’s connection to the town.

His money is definitely as good as anyone’s. Wonder if it will actually go through as Black Rooster sponsoring the shirts rather than him personally.

Understandable that they’ve changed their terms given that the club’s finances are markedly different than when they first came into the picture, and they’re laying things out so they won’t be het to pick up the failings of the people that came before them, but it’s also worrying that they could take such a large element of control as a minority stakeholder. Seems there’s a risk that they could walk away if they decide it’s not worth persisting durther down the line and leave us completely up the swanny. On the other hand, it’s a huge risk to turn them down in the hope the current setup will eventually come good and somehow survive the £350k+ black hole from Dalrada’s defaults on sponsorship and promised payments. Rock and a hard place, and doesn’t seem there’s anyone waiting in the wings to come to our rescue. Sad state of affairs.

Posting more from the perspective of being hacked off than realistic. Almost certainly wouldn’t be able to make it stick with the requirements to prove reputational damage.

Could there be a point where Murray’s mewling would constitute bringing his employer in to disrepute and grounds for summary dismissal?

If a contractual situation changes with a sponsor then a team can remove or replace their branding from the kit (e.g. the sponsor goes bust or breaches contract). In this case, if Dalrada have failed to pay the specific portion of their obligation related to the shirt sponsorship, if that was considered discrete and separate to their other contributions, then there should be no issue in slapping another logo on top of theirs. Other significant design changes would likely need approved on a case by case basis and would need to be justifiable.
