  1. Did the quadruple substitution make much of a difference? P.S. just as I hit ‘post’ I notice one of those subs has hit the equaliser. Good stuff.
  2. Not been to any games since Motherwell away as the major motivation to go was spending time with my dad, but my parents are not doing very well these days and it’s just not really high up the agenda. Anyway, still checking in here from time to time to see how everyone thinks the team is shaping up, what’s working and what’s not, etc. Given the majority of assessments on here, would it be an idea to change shape/personnel and shift to a narrower 442/4411 rather than persisting with out of form wide players? Storer Ballantyne Moore Longridge Delaney Blues Wilson Crawford Lyall Garrity Brophy Or something similar?
  3. Puts his second penalty away to make it 11-10 in the shootout!
  4. Put away the first penalty of the shootout
  5. Dougie has sadly confirmed the passing of his baby girl Remi. All our thoughts and condolences will be with Dougie, his partner and their family.
  6. Partick making a push for bigger crowds, with some focus on our upcoming visit Fill Firhill for the visit of Morton
  7. Having someone like Brophy to come on if we’re looking for a goal (in addition to Garrity who made that a bit of a specialty) is great to have. Couple of defensive options to try and see out a lead too.
  8. Felt we were too passive for much of the first half and the infrequent pressing was uncoordinated. Failed to hold on to the ball when we did win it and wasted a couple of opportunities to counter with loose passes in to touch. Fortunate that Motherwell, for all their dominance in possession and territory, failed to create many good shooting opportunities and had poor efforts when they did shoot. I thought our best spell came after going behind. Appeared to have a bit of impetus and worked our way in to the game, though also lacked incisiveness. Cut open for the second to kill off the game. A positive for me is that Moore looks like he’ll adjust to senior football well. He appears calm and decisive and reads the play well, the sort of centre back who can step out to intercept or make a challenge then either pick a pass or carry the ball forward with confidence. He’d benefit from a steadier partner. For now, Longridge seems to be Dougie’s other pick but he may want to give one of the other options a run at some point. Also thought Robertson asserted himself well when he came on. Good early signs in him.
  9. So pegged back there the goal was inevitable. Initial save was a cracker, a shame nobody could clear afterwards.
  10. From a mate afflicted by a family tradition of supporting Motherwell: We’ve been utilising our keeper as a sweeper, so you might hear the shouts “get back in your boax” and “Where you gaun?”, more times than is comfortable tonight. Some are not quite ready for our new mangers style ?
  11. Thought Robertson played pretty well when he came on against EK. Adds some extra pace to the squad and should suit pressing high in midfield or counter attacking.
  12. May or may not have been found alongside an empty Doritos bag
