I liked that Delaney seemed willing and able to run all day. He showed on a few occasions he could deliver a really good ball in to the box, too, but never consistently enough to say that’s something we’ll be missing in particular now he’s away.
Longridge doesn’t have the same legs, so I presume the hope is he’ll be a steadier, consistent option, with less expectation to get forward as often. He could tuck in with the centre backs to make a three to allow the right back to start or join attacks.
