  1. It’s been a welcome surprise to see Gillespie has been able to consistently play for 90 minutes this season, given he hadn’t been a regular in previous seasons and generally looked only able to do 60-75 minutes before running out of gas. Looking forward, Murray will likely be looking for someone of a similar ilk, but with a bit more pace and a few years younger, but keeping a good professional and role model like Gillespie in the squad for another season still has an appeal, particularly if more fringe members move on.
  2. How’s he not scored there?
  3. Still creating chances, but sorely missing a natural striker up there
  4. Moore and Lopata-White at CB with Wilson moving to midfield alongside Gillespie. Like the look of that. One of Garrity, Moffa, Shaw or MacPherson up front?
  5. I see Blues had to go off early. Did he take a knock?
  6. If this goes ahead, hopefully that will be the case, aided by their model of integrated/shared scouting and analytics. The article linked by Rossco also mentions their ambition to help clubs maximise income from their commercial activity, linking that with both the matchday experience and more broadly as a brand. Things that we know the club have wanted to improve on and which would help towards sustainability. On the surface it’s a pretty intriguing prospect.
  7. As i’m sure many were thinking after the announcement of Dalrada’s planned withdrawal, I wasn’t sure many proposals of similar funding would be forthcoming. So, it’s heartening to hear this soon of the potential for investment that may match or increase the final year of the current agreement. Perhaps there’s even scope to build income further if shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights aren’t factored in to the proposal, though obviously that level of detail will rightly be held until members are briefed prior to the vote on 6th March.
  8. Those shin pads are quite something. Would far rather go in to a tackle wearing those than the postage stamp sized pieces of nonsense some players are wearing these days.
  9. Would be happy to have Stuparevic back if we could agree reasonable terms based on appearances and him proving his fitness.
  10. An extra bit of physicality will be welcome. Has been missing a bit since we lost Oakley and the somewhat undeserved reputation as ‘Big Bad Morton.’
  11. It might be worth noting that Murray said no contact had been made for Tiffoney at the time he was being interviewed, not that he wouldn’t look at it at all.
  12. Stanger would be good reinforcement at the back. I can’t see any of the three former players coming in. Not really what the squad needs in the forward area either (i.e. a striker to compete, rotate with or play alongside Brophy as needed).
  13. If centre back wasn’t already very high up Murray’s list of priorities it must be up there now.
