I should have said it would be even more reassuring for the offer to be for £250k or more for less than 50% and with the stadium off the table, but I don't expect it's realistic to get them to shift that far.

Given the offer on paper being for less than the current shortfall, it doesn't seem a forgone conclusion to say accepting the proposal will steer us clear of administration. Presumably the response to such a concern would be the points made about making more funds available as needed, bringing in additional revenue, securing new sponsorship, plus reducing certain costs, etc. would go someway towards covering the gap. Seeing the due dilligence will hopefully give the answers needed to make an informed choice either way. It would be more reassuring to have the consortium offer to cover the shortfall outright. Then, GMFC, MCT and the consortium could still take all of the aforementioned steps together to increase income and reduce expenditure to land us in a better position. From then on, you'd like to see a commitment to put in cash at a 60/40 ratio in line with MCT contributions, reflective of the shareholding ratio. Perhaps also with a further commitment to reduce their shareholding once certain financial goals are reached? (That last bit may be a bit too Dragons' Den, mind you)

Just to add: as much as I’m hoping for constructive discussions to happen for the good of the club, I believe it would be more appropriate to do so with all board members present, minutes being taken and so forth. If the goals of togetherness and transparent communication are to be reached I would suggest these measures would be most conducive to that end and would certainly help members to make informed decisions when it comes to any votes in the future.

Hi Graham, Here is a post link from another thread where discussion began in earnest regarding votes of no confidence and some members' thinking. It may be useful to have a look through in preparation for the informal Cappielow meeting. Hope it's well attended and constructive.

The “Witty Frog” poster comes across as being at least very close to the consortium, if not one of its members hiding behind a shit picture of a frog in sunglasses. They and posters agreeing with them are working hard at various angles to undermine the value of current MCT member contributions while simultaneously aggrandising the consortiums proposed annual input of less money. They’re dismissing the value of the asset of Cappielow and the land it sits on as well as dismissing any and all concerns that there could be ulterior motives for wishing for it to be part of the deal. A poster going by the name of George Anderson, who only joined the fans’ page on Facebook four days ago and has made no posts anywhere else has also been chiming in, making allusions to the ground still being owed by the Rae family, or that an unspecified debt or security is hanging over it. A cynical individual may be forgiven for suspecting this activity is being directed by persons who think we should be grateful for the scraps from their table, keep our mouths shut and continue putting our own cash in for tickets, contributions, etc.

I get where you’re coming from - more effective coaching and instructions should certainly be the first order of business. As SpoonTon said, the motivation for having an extra centre back and central midfielder in front of them would, in theory, help with the issues you’ve highlighted. The hope would be another body at the back capable of getting a head on the ball at set pieces, then an extra man in the middle to press and make us harder to play through. It would then be up to Ballantyne and Okike to have the legs to get up the park on the break, with a striker and O’Halloran ahead. All well and good in theory, but no guarantee at all it would make enough of a difference to start picking up points. It shouldn’t be an overly complicated change to make, though that will very much depend on the coaching and game management from the dugout. Would hope for a change of some sort in any case…

Murray really needs to try something different - though I don’t hold out too much hope he will. Starting Robinson and Brophy briefly had me thinking he may have switched to a narrower 442 but, alas, he played a striker trying to regain fitness after a long injury layoff out wide. It has to be either Brophy or Robinson up front allowing one to come on for the other when knackered, then Gorman as an option to bring on to partner one of them. Would a 5311 or 3511 suit the squad better and make us at least a little harder to beat? Something along the lines of: P.S. I’m stuck in bed with some rotten virus, so this has mainly been an exercise in passing time and alleviating boredom.

Would expect it’ll take him a while to get up to speed after such a lengthy injury layoff, but imagine he’ll also be well motivated to get his career going again. Fingers crossed for the lad.

On the surface, would 150k plus 144k pa require quite drastic reduction in outgoings to be sustainable?

A post citing no sources on the Facebook group claims the offer is £150k for 51% and two spots on the board. I will assume this is utter drivel to be filed firmly in the bin, but thought some on here may enjoy the laugh.
