  1. Scott Burns from the Record expects us to sign a striker " with good Scottish experience"
  2. It wasn't compo for English, he was contracted so was a transfer fee with addons.
  3. Don't agree with some of the Woods comments. He had some very good games for us last season, Livvy away stands out where he was brilliant and had clean sheets against Pars, Hamilton and Livvy again. Aye he wasn't great in the Falkirk game but who was. Think he was carrying an injury towards the end of the season but his performances in his limited game during the 1st half of the season were good IMO. Wouldn't be surprised if Dougie gives him a chance to be number 1 with Murdoch number 2.
  4. I wouldn't be too concerned that he played in League 2 for Bonnyrigg last season. Lewis Strapp did similar coming through with us going to Elgin and Annan to get experience and it did him no harm. 12 appearances for Motherwell at 19 suggests he has something about him so no harm in having a look. Guessing him and the other trialists will get a run out on Sat.
  5. You just know we will have missed the deadline for Keay too in classic Morton fashion! Aye, hes got an offer on the table but when did he get the offer??
  6. Tele reporting we failed to offer Lyall a new deal in time so won't get a penny in compensation! What an absolute shitshow we are behind the scenes. Prob lose Keay for nothing too!
  7. Was happy for Gillespie to be let go but he will be a decent squad option for us in midfield and RB cover so don't mind him getting another year. Crawford proved a lot of people wrong last season and deserves a new deal. Delighted with Wilson. Adeloye, Mulllen, Keay and Murdoch next please.
  8. Aye players rarely go on holiday with their partners at the end of the season, something definitely amiss!
  9. I did this a year or two ago and the answer was to take out a second subscription..
  10. Harkins said the budget was 750k in his TonTv interview in November ( well he actually said 375k is half of Dougies budget, but I did the math) The fact it's in that ballpark and set to improve is the main thing.
  11. 750k last season, meant to be better this season, i can't see Airdire, QP or Arbroath having our level of budget. No reason we can't compete for top 4 with the right recruitment.
  12. Big spending Raith suggesting they finished the season with the 8th highest budget this season.
  13. Aye I'd rather Raith finish 4th if we can't. Partick losing out financially would be pleasing when they are already planning budget cuts for next season Talking of big spending Raith, Robson just said in his post match that they aren't a club with a big budget and don't throw money about which is laughable considering the contracts handed out to Hanlon, Bryne, Stevenson etc this season as well as all the big contracts offered the season before!
  14. He was a player i was happy to let go in the Summer as even though i thought he was a decent player, he was practically undroppable under Dougie, even when he was off form and doing nothing in games. At the start of the season, he found himself on the bench and that was probably the kick he needed to get back in the team and since he's got back in, he's been consistently good and added goals to his game, something we hadn't seen from him in a few years. 5 goals in his last 15 is a great return. Not far off 200 games for the club now. When Gillespie goes, should probably be made captain! Credit to Cammy for proving me and a few others wrong, he's had a great season.
  15. If we do beat them to top 4, their budget will hopefully be cut further than it already will be with less prize money than they probably budgeted for. They clearly pushed the boat out this year, it's not worked and hopefully there's significant cuts there in the Summer.
  16. Really enjoyed that performance today, most players played well and thoroughly deserved the win. We've not pumped a team this season like Dunfermline and Hamilton in previous seasons and today should really have been the day but take the win and move onto Tues. Adeloye looked dangerous when he came on, I didn't expect him to come on that early so looking forward to seeing what he can do when fully match fit. Decent crowd today too and hope the guy who got smacked by the ball in Sinclair St is OK, looked a sore yin and credit the physio and first aiders for checking on him quickly. Win on Tues and Cappielow will be bouncing on Saturday!
  17. Less said about that 1st half the better. 3-0 wouldnt have been harsh on us. Miles better second half, how did Davies miss that header??Great finish from Keay. I'd start him next week. Ali Crawford had another good game, showed his class at times today and a cracking free kick. Partick v Raith on Fri night. Anything other than a Partick win will do and we can go into those 3 home games with everything to play for. What was the banner and applause about btw, couldn't see what it said.
  18. Always wondered if we could have a pitch running from the main road to railway line in the car park space rather than from Port to Greenock as we don't have an Arnold Clark blocking us. Could have two 3k stands running parallel to Sinclair Street with space behind both goals for expansion if need be or even just 1 if it's too close to railway.
  19. Hopefully it has a positive effect on Stuparevic too. Whilst he's always a threat in and around the box, felt he's lacked something recently. Hopefully the competition will give him an edge back.
  20. Looking at the contract situation this morning. Contracted for next season- Woods,Ballantyne, Corr, Delaney, Blues, Moffat, Davies, Garrity. Contract up- Mullen, Baird, Boyes, Wilson, Lyall, Shaw, Reynolds, Crawford, Gillespie. Loan ends- Stuparevic, McGinn. I'd let go Reynolds, Gillespie and Crawford from that and try and shift Davies too if possible. Reynolds and Davies are likeable and put a shift in but are just not good enough and Gillespie and Crawford are 34 in the Summer. If we could keep the rest, that would give us a good nucleus of 13 going into next season and save another rebuild. Would be happy to take Stuparevic too if Motherwell don't want him. Wilson a priority for me with Mullen not far behind.
  21. Imrie was saying last week he's back training unless he's had another setback.
  22. Dougie in the Tele hinting at some possible business today but also saying we have Sept for domestic loans should we not get anyone.
  23. Where have you pulled that from? He wasn't in with Alloa at all...
  24. They have some decent options up front with Henderson, O'hara, Shaw and Toderov. Hopefully Dougie had something up his sleeve sooner rather than later. Dougie has said he's looking for a number 9...
  25. Tele saying we are looking at Grimshaw. Bring him home!
