Jack Bearne scored the second in Hednesford's 2-0 win over Congleton in the Northern Premier League Division One West playoff final on Saturday, with "The Hens" outdoing "The Congs" to rise to level 7 of the English pyramid, where they'll face such definitely real clubs as Prescot Cables, "Leek" Town, and FC United of Manchester. They were one minute away from automatic promotion on Saturday but Bradford City got a 90+7th minute winner, so now "The Walls" have a tie against Chesterfield, the winners meeting AFC Wimbledon or Notts County.

Reading between the lines I'm almost certain that's what happened as well.

The Tele article says: "The Telegraph understands that Millen's current contract was due to run out on June 10, with both Millen and the club having the option to automatically extend it for a further year if both parties wished to do so. It's believed the club will tell Millen they do not wish to exercise the option to extend his deal." A true rolling contract doesn't work that way. It means every day it has 365 days before it expires.
-
I think it's important to distinguish between sacked and released. According to the telegraph article he's out of contract. It could extend for one year but only if both sides agree. So all Morton have done is decline to use that option. That's not the same as sacking him. From Millen's perspective it's obviously a huge blow so I don't mean to dampen that at all, it is absolutely horrible to lose a job, I have been in that position twice in my career and I wouldn't wish it on anyone unconnected with Partick, but from the point of view of the employer this is not a sacking.

"Dougie was straight down the tunnel at full time, ready for the next challenge at Firhill. Wilson was lapping it up, walked all around the pitch applauding the fans. Maybe feeling a wee bit guilty at moving on when he's been injured and the fans love him." See how easy it is?
-
I have no idea what's happening with these two and I could easily believe it either way, but you don't get to give going around the stands as evidence that someone's leaving and also the fact that someone goes up the tunnel as evidence that someone's leaving. If both of them had done the exact opposite you just have posted the same things with the motivations reversed.

A bit tinpot having old email addresses floating around in these systems, frankly. It should be something consistent between employees. If we're actually banking on youth we're going to get a lot of these cross-border regens, so making sure our FIFA TMS login wasn't XxX_McKinnon69_XxX@hotmail.co.uk or whatever should be part of the club's admin work.

It's not really on if it's been over a month, though, is it? You need to be on the phone to FIFA with a documented list of times you attempted to contact them, and if they aren't shifting, you tell the fans "okay, we're working on this, here's the steps we've taken." A week or so of just letting it blow over, fine, but we know what league we're in next season and there's one game to go. Squad planning is underway right now. This has dragged on too long.

If I was earning ten quid an hour the last thing I'd be doing is being proactive if there was a chance I got stabbed. We're paying the police a lot for high-profile games and I'm glad they arrested and charged the guy with the knife. And the pyro one, too, in fairness.

Oooh you're gonna have a good time We're mathematically out of the promotion hunt now, but the dream of a Livingston title remains alive.

Fancy! Are we made of money? Get him down the Premier Inn. Or stick a sleeping bag in Cappie's Corner.

Murdoch in the SPFL TOTW for his IMPERIOUS performance in our clean sheet at Airdrie.

While I could easily see Imrie at a club like big-spending Partick I think anyone who's in and around football would know not to go blabbing about a manager's future job at the fucking stadium of his current employers. What kind of idiot would loudly broadcast his future job like that without checking that it was public knowledge first? This doesn't pass the sniff test for me.

I still think Falkirk will hold on but I think it'll almost outdo their relegation in the banter stakes if they somehow blow the title from here. Good result today with an inexperienced keeper and a changed lineup. Great for Tomi to get a goal, hope he's on the road to peak condition and we can hold onto him. I know he was dire last week but he can find the net. Hope Ballantyne is alright. Great for Wilson to come back, even in a cameo.

I don't understand loaning out young players unless it's to get consistent minutes.
-
Little Ayr's bottle crashing just in time for the playoffs, marvelous.
-
In retrospect this was harsh. I think the punishment they're getting now is light, if anything. But if the fans can chase the people running the club, and endure some wilderness years, that's justice enough.
-
15 points. 12 for Charge 1 and a further three for Charge 3. Charge 1 is absolutely damning. Frankly they can consider themselves lucky to get 12 points for it, it's insanely corrupt to fail to pay six players on time and then try to cover it up to avoid punishment. https://spfl.co.uk/news/spfl-statement-hamilton-academical-fc Get doon, stay doon, cheating rats. Hope the next two years of Oli Shaw's millions bankrupt them.

Blues for me, Ballantine second, Mullen and Baird probably tied for third. I think if we can get another year out of Lyall he'll come on leaps and bounds but he wasn't quite top three for me this year. McGinn worst signing and player by a country mile. Great player in his day but absolutely finished here. I do think Imrie should be cut a little slack for these types of signings because the likes of Crawford show that it can work out.
-
Aye, I thought Mullen had been shaky recently and Woods was meriting a chance, but that experiment has failed. Mullen needs to come back into the team.
-
Poll up for the MCT Player of the Year. Personally I went for Blues. You could make a case for a few others, including Mullen and perhaps Lyall, maybe Ballantyne. There's also a women's POTY vote but I abstained as I've never watched them and couldn't pick.
-
Cheers. Wonder if the injury update is to spare his blushes.
-
Was Woods injured? Is that why he was subbed off early?
-
They are about to get relegated to the 7th tier of the English game. Probably about his level.

What's he up to these days, work-wise?
