  1. The unacceptable silence from the club is deafening particularly when we are fan owned and many of us have given significant amounts to the club we support. We don't need to know when a Board Member catches a cold or our goalie breaks a finger nail but we should be given a regular update regarding matters of substance. At the moment we know the square root of f*** all and are left to try to make sense of snippets and rumour along with the fabricated info some seem to enjoy posting. Murray has been ill advised in some of his comments and has done himself no favours but I suspect many in his situation would have just walked. If he stays and turns this around opinions of him and attitudes towards him will change very quickly. I can't say I am optimistic but the next few weeks are certainly pretty much make or break.
  2. Joe Jordan went to Leeds having played for us mainly on the wing and there are many more examples of players finding success in positions more suited to their skill set. Another interesting development is that we have fielded more young players, mainly out of necessity already this season than for a long time. That will already have been noted and scouts will be taking an interest. Managing that process will be important to the players and to us to get the best out of them and to ensure that if and when they leave we get the best possible return. Early days but some aspects looking brighter already after all the gloom and doom.
  3. It would be good indeed to have some indication regarding Savoury and also Gorman. Gorman looked good in the little we have seen of him and Savoury if fit is a certain starter. These two along with our new keeper could make a huge difference to the size of the crowd, the performance of the team and the feelgood factor around Cappielow.
  4. Maybe getting a bit ahead of ourselves since in spite of the rumours there is no confirmation regarding Tumilty. For what it is worth all I can remember him reported as saying was that he was glad to get away from the Championship since it was boring playing the same teams 4 times each season. He wasn't/isn't the only player to have expressed that view although like the others, apart from a relatively short spell down south he has continued to play on the Championship.
  5. This is a 'stick your neck out post' which might well come back to haunt, but I have a really good feeling about Gorman. His CV, his recent form, his attitude, his age and on the evidence of Saturday his agility/mobility all are positives. Jet lagged and in his first game he showed more in the centre forward position than we saw in a lot of games last season. Some might argue, quite reasonably that the last of the above wouldn't have been hard to do but I am optimistic that he will score a fair few goals and generally add something we haven't seen for a few seasons.
  6. Derek McInnes has said frequently in the past that he has a 'soft spot' for Morton and indeed that he would like to manage us at some point (although I guess with where he is now that ship has well and truly sailed). However if he can do us a good turn which works for him as well I am sure he will. I suppose it depends who they have that might be available and do a job for us. A goalie or striker would be a good start.
  7. I suppose we are all in the same boat at this time of the year, flicking from site to site and scanning the press just hoping for some news. It is rather frustrating how little is forthcoming and we are back to the situation of a few years ago when the club's official website is still carrying information 2 months out of date like about our next home match against Airdrie. How the club expect a rush for season tickets in such a situation is beyond me........ but as always I live in hope. .
  8. As regards Moffat. He always gives 100% and of the chances missed he created many/more of them than anyone else. I would hope he is still with us next season.
  9. We were the most profligate team in the league in terms of missed chances. Even in arguably our best showing of the season against Dunfermline at Cappielow we went in winning at half time having missed 3 sitters. Above all else we need a decent striker, hard though that may be to come by. Murray made some baffling decisions last season, e.g. playing Wilson at centre back even when others were fit, but he is an experienced manager and knows the league well. No doubt there will be some changes over the close season and 'loans' can be critical. Impossible at this stage to predict what our line up will be but at least now we have some information with which to speculate.
  10. If you look back to this time last year and indeed a fair bit later, we were told from numerous sources that Wilson was leaving. Rumours will abound and inevitably we are all keen for signing news. Experience tells us not to believe anything until it is a done deal.
  11. That is as I remember him too, coming out of his goal and taking crosses a distance from his line totally unexpected in Scottish Football. It was maybe a bit naive but I can't remember any disasters and I found it refreshing.
  12. Perhaps not even, but as they say 'you are only as good as your last game' and under Murray we are getting more from him than under Imrie.
  13. If the Shaw we are talking about is the one who played against Arbroath on Saturday then we should certainly keep him. He showed more composure than any other of our players and his work rate was better than ever before. We should get Owens onto a decent contract asap. We should keep if possible Ballantyne, Wilson, Blues, Moffat, Garrity, MacPherson, and one of the two loan keepers. Delaney, I'm not sure about. He has had some great games and a couple of bombscare performances. Longridge is a probable for his experience and versatility. Main, in spite of his high sitter miss rate led the line well in our 'good period' on Saturday, but not sure overall whether we should keep him. We really do need someone who is consistently able to put the ball in the net and that we have sadly lacked this season. I like the football we are seeing under Murray and am (as usual) optimistic about next season.
  14. A couple of seasons at Morton in the days when the 'sweeper' was a key position he was still although towards the end of his career a class act, reading the game and pretty much always finding a team mate when playing out from the back. Playing with a young George Anderson as Centre Half they were a formidable central defensive partnership. Two gentlemen they were but as hard as nails. Fondly remembered and condolences to his family and friends.
  15. Interesting fact: Unless it needs to be updated, The number of MCT members has not changed at all throughout the 'period of uncertainty' and the vote. Apparently no one scunnered enough to leave and no one so enthused by the new deal that they have joined. Hopefully a few more will join soin.
