  1. The wording on the badge changed in 1994 from Morton - Football - Club to Greenock - Morton - FC Ltd, so the blue and red tartan strips had different badges. Always looked lop-sided to me compared to the old wording.
  2. Either ICT are going to be poor this season or Airdrie are somewhat better than anticipated. Edit- Airdrie have chucked away a 2-0 lead. Edit again - 3-2 Airdrie now.
  3. The "won the league with only 14 players all season" was done by Aston Villa in 80-81.
  4. Thomas Orr scored the winner for Stranraer today against Edinburgh City.
  5. Partick equalise, so Falkirk go up and score again.
  6. Aiden McGeady signs a two year deal with Ayr as player/technical manager.
  7. A Partick fan on P&B says the talk is that he will be out for a few weeks.
  8. Dipo Akinyemi on his way from Ayr to York City, apparently.
  9. I'll hazard a guess that the Tik-tok-er guy isn't getting signed either.
  10. Let's say when the fixtures are drawn up, there are 18 possible final day games for us (anyone at home or away). Sharing a league with Arbroath and ICT means a 2 in 18 chance of playing one of them away (1 in 9). When Cove were also in the league last season it was 1 in 6. The probability of us getting a trip like that on the final day four years in a row is 1/9 x 1/9 x 1/6 x 1/9 which is odds of 1 in 4374 (0.023%). If anyone classes QoS in the same category for the first of those two seasons (a matter of opinion) then it's a mere 1 in 1944 (0.051%). No doubt there's several other ways of looking at this, but I'd say we've been more than a little bit unlucky.
  11. I get what you're saying, but the difference is that Saturday and Tuesday are days when you'd generally expect games to be played (although sometime in the 80s or 90s Tuesday seemed to replace Wednesday as the midweek day). Friday is only a fairly recent addition to the fixtures and it's almost always for TV (I know that our second away game against the new club was only played on a Friday because there were other games in Glasgow that weekend). If there had been any joined-up thinking then we wouldn't have been given four final day away games on the trot, but then again, this is the SPFL we are talking about.
  12. It's a pain in the arse for those who want to go but can't change shifts or get the day off. We'll be getting handed the trophy that night so it'll be live on TV anyway.
  13. If we get the chance to send them to the seaside leagues on that final day, it'll be worth it.
  14. They are 1-0 down to Civil Service Strollers at HT tonight.
  15. I wasn't meaning like-for-like but your point about Duffy is a fair one.
  16. To replace Tumilty, who has just left Hamilton.
  17. A relative has just bought his first season ticket in years. He's done it online and wants to know if the QR code he's been sent is his ticket or if there's something he needs to do? I can't help as mine is still a physical card - anyone know?
  18. That was funny as f**k. Cheers, Alex Samuel.
  19. I presume that some of that squad will have release clauses if they are relegated. Partick could still make an arse of this, though.
  20. Paul McGowan leaves Dundee. And no thank you.
  21. I recently took a notion to go back and read our Airdrie play-off thread on P&B and Blues (and others who are still with us) was being completely written off by our support. Speaks volumes about the effect that Dougie has had. Contrast the 6-1 defeat by ICT just before he arrived and the 4-0 win over the same opponents last season when we had Robbie asking the referee how long was left after we got our 4th.
  22. Ayr getting absolutely Falkirkā€™d now.
  23. Two trips to Somerset again next season. Ayr are an absolute gang.
