Dougie's often talked about the spirit in the team - and irrespective of the pre-interview result, he's consistently defended and praised our boys through thick and thin. I know that it's been another "if only ....." disappointing season - but we have a manager who's literally been there, done that, and worn the shirt. Below (to me) is a prime example of the degree of togetherness only a respected ex-player can instil into his bargain-basement squad. All I care to remember over the last six months is the way I felt when the ref blew his whistle at the end of the Motherwell game. For me - that was special enough to cancel everything else out. Onwards and upwards - Mon eh Ton.

2023/24 End of Season Awards

Also pretty much agree with all of that. George's third goal at Tannadice was a thing of beauty - especially the rapturous run over to the bench and the subsequent pitch-side celebration. I must have watched that clip a hundred times and it still makes me smile every time I watch it. A bonus arising from that game was Jim Goodwin's disingenuous, salty-teared whinge-fest in his post-match interview. Coiffured wanker. -

One of the highlights of my season so far was the look on Gorgeous George's face as he ran to the bench after netting his perfect HT at Tannadice - along with the rapturous pitchside celebration and the massive hug from Dougie. Arabs must be fucking delighted with this. Slimeball Jim Goodwin post-match 'Morton play a certain way' gloat-fest incoming. -

One consistently amusing forum trait is that once everyone gangs up on a player "he's done, he's shite, he should be benched etc etc etc" that player steps up to the the plate and scores a crucial goal. Fair play done, shite, benched Mr. Broadfoot. -

My guess is that you-know-who is the one in the suit. Why stop the fantasy at only 37?

I get the feeling that Mr. Imrie could make a player out of pretty much anyone (except Ally Roy obviously). If the rest of Nsingi’s play is anything like his footwork and finishing, I’d be delighted to see him on the bench. Just look at what’s happened with no clear substitute replacement for Gorgeous George. Always interesting to see fitba from elsewhere in Europe, thanks for posting

The most frustrating thing for me is the inconsistency. We were so solid against Hearts. But then, just a few days later - this. -

The opportunity to go 3rd above the luvvies - and with a game in hand. The possibilities are delicious -

No shame in that. We we superb to a man. Mon eh Ton. -
Good to hear.No shortage of Jambos in the WDE. Great to see the old lady packed to the max. Fair play to their away support.

Fuck knows what's going to happen tonight with the trains being off. How many Hearts latecomers will there be? And what will be the size of the riot outside when Sourpuss does her stuff?

That's the entire Arboath squad. -
I was working yesterday, but had the BBC live updates showing on my phone, checking the Caley/Airdrie score every 3 minutes My arse was really puckering at 89 minutes. Great to see them drop a couple of points and keep us in the hunt.

I agree. I know that a fair number of Hearts fans (Jambos forum) were disappointed to have missed out on an away ticket - they sold out their allocation in a matter of days. Might be worthwhile punting another 500 up to Tynecastle and putting additional segregation in place - if that's possible even. It's all money in the bank. -

What ??? I've never once 'bumped my gums' or questioned a single decision our manager has made - nor would I dream of doing so. I was specifically referring to what you said (quoted below) - and agreeing with it using O'Boy as a random example. "People keep claiming that there's only much you can do in ten minute cameos - well you can make it impossible to be overlooked by turning a game and having an impact". From where I was standing - a penalty win assist followed by a stoater of a goal in 10 minutes certainly did make an impact. Can you show me the thread when I was banging on DOT-style about him not being included as a permanent fixture in Dougie's chosen starting XI? No? I thought not. O'Boy's a promising kid. Nothing more. It will be years before he's ready for Championship football. -

Motherwell's pyro was one of the highlights of the occasion for me, and really complimented the 'seething cauldron' vibe. Sad to see harmless fun being ostracised for the sake of some white-helmeted, hi-vizzed, litigation-averse risk assessors. -

Did you watch the Airdrie vs Hearts game? They look like a proper Premiership side - well-drilled and full of quality. Shankland’s a machine, but all of their goals were absolute gems. At the time of the draw, we were unburstable, and outwith the usual rose-tinted hope all teams at our level have when presented with the opportunity to kill a giant, I genuinely thought that we’d give them a game - maybe even providing one of those legendary ‘shock results’ which make the Cup so special. But now - I can just see us getting steamrollered. The great disadvantage of having such a fantastic unbeaten run is that it doubly hurts when the collapse happens. We get lulled into a false sense of security, believing that our team is invincible, without ever realising how vulnerable we are when two critical cogs in the gears go missing. Best wishes to George and Iain for a speedy recovery. -

If it was @Toby writing the match preview - it was a thing of utter beauty. Some of the one-liners and unsubtle digs in there were comedy gold. Made my day -

That’s a shame. Chris is just an ordinary supporter doing his blog because he loves the club - unlike Blair who’s just an annoying pellet. It’s also not as though Chris is producing full match highlights in broadcast-quality 4K HD either A bit over-zealous I think. -
