  1. I don't know specific details, but when myself and Gavin were in meetings with Dave McKinnon, Keith from Smiths and the Vision Outsourcing people, there was mention of Smiths actually owning certain rights to producing Morton merchandise and maybe even the club crest itself, purchased before Rae took over. I'd hope that would have changed as part of fan ownership, though it does seem the shop does certain things quite separately from the club, like launching and stocking items before the club make any announcement.
  2. Quitongo just doesn’t seem to be able to get a clean run of fitness. When he has played this season he’s not seemed anything like his old self either. He doesn’t appear to be moving freely or comfortably, and the acceleration and sprint speed that were his main weapons aren’t on tap as the once were. A young guy who should be in his peak years. Got to wonder whether he’ll be able to shake the chronic issues and hope it won’t have long term impacts for him beyond his playing days.
  3. Everything is behind the pillars, but it could probably be used as a platform for a camera mounted on a jib that extends past them.
  4. Happy Dougie Extension Day, everybody.
  5. I think that spot is where our own camera is set up to record for highlights, and unfortunately it’s definitely not an unobstructed view. Most of the stand side touch line is blocked and the pillars to either side obstruct a portion of each penalty area. Maybe a camera on a jimmy jib could be used from those seats so that it could held out beyond the uprights? Finding a solution that doesn’t involve forcing the largest portion of the support away from the middle of the terracing and impacting the match day experience and the atmosphere negatively would be the ideal and can hopefully be part of infrastructure improvements in the coming years.
  6. I think to get in line with or in front of the uprights in the stand the camera would have to go on top of the dugouts. Doubt that covering is strong enough to take the weight of a camera plus the operator, and building a scaffold there would restrict using the dugouts. Before the last tv game did they not resolve to use a narrower scaffold in the shed to reduce the impact? Was it any better? Long term the ideal scenario would be a new roof and a permanent gantry for the shed, but that’s going to take a good few cash-spinning cup ties or a very generous benefactor to foot the bill.
  7. This is some bizarre, off-topic condescension. The excessive ellipses following "thought" may also betray the lack of such going in to this post.
  8. Glad to hear about O’Boy and Wilson. Got to echo the points regarding Wilson, he has been excellent.
  9. A draw will always feel like a bit of a downer after a string of good wins, particularly when we had chances to seal the three points. Hasn’t taken the feel good factor away for me, though. Still can’t quite believe the position the team and Dougie have got us in to given where we were not so long ago.
  10. That will absolutely be part of it, sure, but i think it’s still reasonable to hope for the queues to be more efficiently funnelled in. Whether by better queue management, improvements to the turnstiles, by encouraging more people to arrive early or even all three in combination.
  11. We set off early anticipating having more trouble parking than usual, but got a space no bother and wandered straight up and through the turnstiles in the stand. Seeing quite so many people getting in throughout the first 15/20 minutes would suggest the issue is not simply about a lack of prompt arrivals, especially given we weren’t exactly close to a full house.
  12. Looks like it’ll be busy - traffic queued back on Greenock Rd as far as B&Q! EDIT: Or maybe that’s just the roadworks…
  13. The turnaround in form, performances and results has been incredible. Massive, massive credit to Dougie, the coaching team and the squad.
  14. The training ground is the principle place where a player has it explained to them what they need to improve upon. They’ll also be getting feedback through any game time, in the dressing room and so on. At the point of being told they’ll not be offered a contract they will absolutely know why.
  15. Excellent performance today. The whole team upped the energy and pace of their play in the second half and we were not at all flattered by the scoreline. Muirhead of course considered MOTM for his goals, but also have to say some of his touches and neat passes around the final third were cracking. Once he gets his tail up he’s some player. Shout out for Wilson in the middle of the park. Seemed to anticipate Ayr’s out ball every time and cut them out brilliantly.
  16. Really good move for the goal. Ayr had a lot of possession without doing an awful lot with it and think we were the better side as the half wore on. Wish we could clone Crawford - imagine having his energy and running throughout the side.
