  1. Agreed. Says a lot about our status in the world when people are pining for the likes of Michael bloody Doyle.
  2. I see a Rangers player was hit by a coin on Saturday, with reports that Craig Samson had some thrown at him too (which isn't entirely surprising given the set of fans involved...). Those incidents plus the Hearts' goalie being punched, coins being flung at Hibs players, the linesman being hit with one a few weeks ago amongst other things not only disprove the already strange notion that Lennon was somehow targeted for his religion at Tynecastle and he alone was a victim, but make such claims quite dangerous as they're over-shadowing something that seems to be becoming a bit of a recurring theme. There's a problem with arseholery in certain quarters of Scottish football which merits a better discussion than "poor wee Neil" as the sole victim.
  3. Jai Quitongo was substituted after an invisible display which saw Partick humiliated 5-1. Tam O'Ware watched from the stands. Some laugh.
  4. Remember some goon was shouting the odds on here about a charity boxing match years ago? Should do that now, set up a ring in the Norseman and have a big square go.
  5. Reports suggesting that River Plate could possibly be disqualified due to their suspended manager entering the dressing room at half time. https://en.as.com/en/2018/11/01/football/1541105778_779755.amp.html?__twitter_impression=true
  6. There's no doubt that that fuels some of it, but the fact that he's routinely an absolute helmet is a far bigger factor by this stage. You can't run about behaving like he does and not be a hate figure, but I suppose you need to fuel the victim complex. I don't really buy into the "he's interesting"; as I said before, there's a difference between banter, a wind-up and being a dickhead and that's what Lennon more often than not is. When you see him in interviews on other subjects he comes across as quite intelligent, insightful and good-humoured, which makes his meltdowns all the more pathetic.
  7. Agree entirely It's also worth pointing out that Celtic and their supporters are in a large part responsible for creating that kind of atmosphere. If you're going to go in to the Celtic job knowing fine well what kind of s***e goes along with it and go out of your way to be as obnoxious as possible knowing the kind of headcases involved, then you're part of the problem. Whether it should be that way or not is by the by, it's how it is and the two club's representatives should be well aware of it and behave accordingly.
  8. I don't have a problem with players/managers having a wee bit of banter with fans, but Lennon's a dick most of the time. He's like a spoilt wean, either throwing tantrums or being desperate to be the centre of attention. It's pretty cringeworthy how angry fully grown adults who've spent 90 minutes hurling all sorts of abuse at somebody get if that person so much as looks at them funny, but at the same time we could also do without Lennon's constant attempts to stir up the most volatile situations. Again, there's no defence for flinging coins or flinging punches, but that doesn't mean managers should be going out their way to cause more aggro in the heat of a derby game. If players are getting booked for an innocuous celebration like Reece Lyon's the other night, then managers really should be conducting themselves a lot better. There's "passion", there's "banter" and there's just being a bit of a dick. Neil Lennon really could do with learning where the lines are.
  9. "People will say I was winding the crowd up; I wasn't. I was just giving a bit back for the abuse I was taking for 90 minutes." Lennon apparently not quite grasping the "winding up" thing there. Quite enjoyed the fact that he was rolling about the ground one minute and perfectly fine the next, the greetin' faced tit would have combusted if a Hearts player had done that in the box. That said, if you go to a football game and get so enraged by a player or manager gesturing towards you that you have to lob a coin at them or swing a punch then you're an absolute helmet of the highest order.
  10. Was going to post similar but that one's better. Creepy big bastard that he is. Some player right enough.
  11. Dumbarton are an absolute tragedy of a club.
  12. The Hole In The Wa's decent but could do with a jukebox or something. When it's not busy it's deadly quiet. Rebecchi's an arsehole.
  13. Gazza's Hall of Fame nomination has been withdrawn via a quite awful statement from the SFA: https://twitter.com/ScotlandSky/status/1050434419704643589/photo/1 "Concerns over his health". Deary me. It's perfectly valid to cite the way he wasted his talent etc as a reason for not including him in the first place, but rescinding the nomination because of his current mental health? That's abhorrent by any measure.
  14. Rodgers is a diddy. Awright when things go well, rubbish when it doesn't, been totally found out. In other news, Gazza had been inducted to the SFA Hall of Fame. Can't agree with that or even understand it, wasn't there long enough for a start plus the fact that he's a total waster. All the stories about having a half time bevvy and the like don't make you a "character", they make you a dick. Plenty of players far more deserving. Would rather see somebody who's had a really good career in the lower leagues get a shout than the likes of Gazza if it came to it. As much as he's a dick, guys like Iain Russell have had excellent careers and made the best of what they have, far more worthy of the acknowledgment than somebody who only played about 70 games.
  15. Maybe, but if you tell your own lawyers that the complainant said "no and stop several times" then it doesn't really help your cause.
  16. https://twitter.com/derWinterbach/status/1046478115734720513 Cristiano Ronaldo accused of rape, and seemingly with some substance. With a lot of these stories it ultimately boils down to one person's word against another's and it becomes a bit of a kangaroo court without there ever being any kind of evidence or investigation which makes it easy to have your doubts, but with this one it does look like there's some kind of substance to it. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out, but at best it makes him look like a total arsehole.
  17. Livingston bearing Rangers in the Premier League whilst Morton are getting pumped 5-1 by Ayr. That's fuckin grim, that.
  18. Aberdeen v Rangers at 12pm, Celtic v Hearts at 7:45pm. On Sunday. At Hampden. Mental.
  19. This is definitely a real thing. Still amuses me to this day.
  20. Even before the season started, a lot of St Mirren fans were unhappy about Stubbs and his signings, seems they had him sussed from the start. Objectively speaking, I'd like to see the new guy doing well. The media bores were all rolled out to give it the same drivel as they did about Duffy so it'd be good to see the likes of him and Johansen being successful.
  21. Not really surprising about Celtic. When everything is in Rodgers' favour he's fine, but when he's required to actually do a bit of managing he's a bit of a diddy. All the whining about Celtic's spending etc is a smokescreen to cover for that fact.
  22. Firhill is pish. Our stand isn't the best but compared to that thing it's luxurious.
  23. Would rather he played on Saturday and be on the receiving end of a royal pumping, to be honest. Prick.
  24. https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/shiva-nzigou-mother-sacrificed-195563 A contract at St Mirren surely awaits this character.
