  1. Further to this request that I made to Mr. McLennan for him to tell me who is involved in MCT, and his insistence that ”It's no secret who is involved and we've announced on twitter who the players in the MCT LT are”, to use his own words, I was advised by a friend that it might be worth trawling through Twitter after all, instead of waiting for the information to be placed on my lap (how lazy of me, it’s not as if they’re wanting my money or anything). Anyway, having gone onto their Twitter, and subsequently their website, I was pretty surprised to read the following; https://mortonclubtogether.com/QuestionAndAnswer.html “The most prominent members who have agreed to be named are Graham McLennan, Frank McNeil, Stuart McCartney, Kieran McLennan (Graham’s eldest son) and Graham Barr.” This piece was dated 27th April, and on 20th May Mr McLennan told us there are no secrets. I’m sorry, but this simply isn’t true. All I’ve asked for all along is transparency, which I don’t think is an unreasonable request, but it seems to be beyond MCT in it’s current form. Until such time as this is addressed, I’m afraid I can’t bring myself to commit to a body who’s not prepared to tell me exactly what I want to know, and when I specifically ask them to point out something that might not show them telling the whole truth, just ignore the question in the hope it’ll go away. I’m not prepared to have people who refuse to identify themselves be responsible for my money- it’s ridiculous that MCT allow members of their Leadership Team to remain anonymous whilst expecting well meaning fans to stump up.
  2. I suspect ToM had a few libations last night.
  3. Rather than inviting us to trawl through Twitter, could you just tell us who’s involved? Rhyming off a couple of ex-players from a bygone era who have given you their backing doesn’t sit to easily for those of us looking for a bit of transparency. What about those not involved in the Leadership Team? Are there some who are taking a back seat? I genuinely wish any project that’s of benefit to Morton all the best, but remain far from convinced at the moment about this one. Are there any of those previously involved with the GMST involved? Any potentially divisive local councillors with tendencies to lean towards, Celtic? In spite of your protestations, I’m really not sure we’re being told everything about everyone involved.
  4. I’m still waiting on the tenner cheque I wrote for my membership in 2005 getting cashed. The fury that the 79 night caused was a hoot.
  5. I doubt it too, certainly hope not, but it begs the question, who is? And why don’t we know about their identity yet? A bit of transparency isn’t too much to ask.
  6. I wouldn’t want him or Danny Goodwin to be in any sort of position within the club that they could be offering advice or making decisions. They’re not the only two, but good examples of Morton fans that you wouldn’t allow to run a ménage.
  7. I’m interested to know who, other than Graham McLennan is involved in MCT. There’s a lot of mistrust from the support, rightly or wrongly, towards the GMST and it’s clear that this project is far too big for one person to be running alone. I’m not questioning Mr. McLennan’s intentions, but it seems strange that the posterboy for this project is a guy that after about 30 years of watching Morton, I’ve never come across until the last couple of weeks. Who else is involved, in what roles, and why until now has their identity not been revealed? I’m yet to commit to MCT, and remain unconvinced that it’s a good idea to commit whilst this is a secret. Do MCT have ambitions of boardroom representation, like the GMST previously had? If so, who? I’d be reluctant to contribute to a body to find myself being represented by someone like Danny Goodwin or Scott Gillan for example.
  8. Interested to know DreamOakTree’s thoughts on Kate and Gerry McCann. Good parents, aye?
  9. Possibly a bit harsh in hindsight, but influenced by alcohol. Fuck Falkirk though.
  10. Just popping in to say a if GIRFUY to Dream Oak Tree. Fuck you.
  11. I can't understand so many of them giving it big licks about how we're obsessed with them as if it's an insult. This is the best thing to happen in Scottish football since Rangers died- of course I'm obsessed! Get doon.
  12. You’re making far too much a deal out of trying to excuse yourself from watching Falkirk videos on YouTube, here- I’ve been in about it like a dug with a burst ball all season and it’s been fantastic. Get it shared with the rest of the class.
  13. I’d just like to add a couple of others in- Falkirk’s players have an annoying habit of having f*cking stupid names. Conor McGrandles, Crawford Baptie, Myles Hogarth and Forbes Johnston in the last 30 years for example. And their commentary team on Falkirk TV- that camp, squeaky voiced we c*nt that’s the main commentator (who once finished an interview with “honest as the day is long, Ray” IIRC) and his jakey pal who just whines about perceived injustices in a manner befitting of that poisonous rabble. Get doon.
  14. Couldn’t agree more, and that’s also the impression I’ve got of that roman_bairn character. He’s most certainly a couple of pieces short of a picnic. Bairnardo, whilst he doesn’t appear thick, comes across as a complete bell end. I’m looking forward to seeing how that dick takes it when relegation’s confirmed.
  15. Right, here goes. Best way's probably to try and split it into categories; The SPL Falkirk were of course the major victims of the formation of the SPL, and the stadium criteria which came in as a result. They were denied promotion in 2000 after finishing third in the First Division. In reality, they were denied a three-way play off place with 2nd placed Dunfermline and bottom placed Aberdeen for two places in the division. The rules had been set out a full two years before that, and they didn't comply with them. Was it a crap rule? Yes. Did they vote for it? Probably not, no. Did they accept their share of the compensation payout? Undoubtedly, yes. Nothing to complain about. If you object so strongly to the formation of a body that screws you around, don't allow said body to cross your palms with silver. Then, they were subsequently denied promotion in 2003 after winning the First Division title because their stadium didn't comply and they were denied the opportunity to ground share with Airdrie at New Broomfield. Quite an injustice when you consider that the following season, the SPL allowed Inverness to share at Aberdeen. Of course they fail to mention that they were very fortunate to even be in the First Division that year, having only been saved by the demise of Airdrie. Inverness's promotion the following season lead to much bleating about the rules being changed to help someone else but screw them over. However, had the rules not been changed, they wouldn't have been allowed promotion in 2005, and even now, would still not be allowed to play top flight football, as they still don't have 10,000 covered seats in their council bus shelter. The Stadium The way their local council held them up in selling Brockville was a travesty. How on earth would they want to shaft their local club like that? Perhaps it's because the council actually owned a third of the ground and had a responsibility towards the local taxpayers, and not just the local football club. But even still, throwing their £3.1 million share into the new ground? How much have they put into East Stirlingshire and Stenhousemuir? And they still complain about how the council are shafting them. They're very quick to remind fans of clubs that have been in administration that they paid everything they owed back. That's much easier to do when you have a council that's dishing out handouts to see you through. The Managers The first Falkirk manager I remember was Jim Duffy, followed by Jim Jeffries, who admittedly put together a very good team, which won the league in 1991. After that, Alex Totten was an absolute weapon. The man was an absolute master at playing the victim. It seemed like a weekly occurrence that you'd put Football First on and hear him bleating about how his "good honest bunch o' lads" couldn't possibly compete in a league with such behemoths as Airdrie, Clydebank and Morton, all of whom were on their knees at the time. There was one time I even remember him complaining that they couldn't compete with us for signings because Dundee United were good enough to give us Stephen McConalogue on loan whilst paying his full wage so we could get a team on the park. Heaven forbid that someone could possibly be operating in more trying circumstances than poor Falkirk. He's a friend of my brother's father in law, who told me a few years ago about his health struggles. It was a bit of a job for me to hide my indifference. After that, there was Ian McCall, who was tapped up by Dundee United, much to their fury. Sound familiar? Scottish born Republic of Ireland international Owen Coyle and John "Yogi" Hughes were next. No prizes for guessing what I don't like about Coyle, but Hughes was a wank. A chest puncher who shouted about "standards" at his club when in actual fact, he ran about with his tadger out on TV in his playing days. Get that hard drive searched, he's definitely OFTW. Pressley was the prick's prick, if he was chocolate he'd eat himself. I doubt I need to go into too much detail about any reasons for disliking him. Most will feel the same. Houston never bothered me too much, but he is a beetroot faced wall-puncher whose time here hasn't endeared him to me. Hartley I didn't mind until his outburst about the 10-2 game. Taking over at Them just cemented my disdain for him. Then Raymond. Rat. The Fans What a shower. My two particular favourites on P&B are roman_bairn and Gaz FFC, but they're not alone. Pair of bell ends. Like others, the Marino Keith game was significant in forming my opinion of them. The atmosphere was poisonous that day. Brockville was never the most welcoming either, although much more enjoyable than their current bus shelter. I particularly remember the last ever visit there, a 3-1 midweek win when we were in the enclosure at the front of the stand and being spat on by the locals was we celebrated. Nowadays they're not the most endearing either of course. I had the misfortune of sharing the train to and from the 1-0 win in October, and whilst they were no worse than myself and my mates have been, but I'm prepared to be a hypocrite on this one. They were bastards. All week I've thought about how miserable Saturday's win would've made that fat, specky, Peppa Pig lookalike moron with the lilac Stone Island jacket that was goading everyone in the Norseman before the 1-1 game. It's given me a warm glow inside, get it up him. The Taboo Subject It's been alluded to elsewhere on the thread, but I'm not prepared to give my opinion on Falkirk's role in The Taboo Subject on a public forum. Those who are friendly with me will know. There's probably more, but that'll do for now.
  16. I’m on the nightshift tonight, so I hope it’s worth the wait. Hopefully some time tomorrow.
  17. Sheffield Wednesday looking at Stuart Findlay with a view to a £1 million offer. Who was it on here that said he’d never do much with his career, Colin Darroch?
  18. I’d go as far as to say that’s as shameful for them as our 10-2 defeat at Hamilton 5 years ago was. I know that Man City are brilliant and Schalke haven’t had the best of seasons, but a team good enough to qualify from the Bundesliga last season and get out of their Champions League group surely shouldn’t be losing by that sort of scoreline to anyone. An absolutely disgraceful result for them.
  19. Auld Shuggie must be a fair age by now, hopefully he dies soon.
  20. Jim Duffy wins the League One Manager of the Month award for February.
  21. Kevin Twaddle appointed interim manager of Dalkeith Thistle.
  22. I never got the need for him to have a flat in Greenock tbh. We knew his family very well at the time from drinking in the Norseman and his parents were as decent a couple as you could expect to meet, and coming from Govan, it was hardly a nightmare commute for him were he to decide to stay at home. Of course, with a few quid in his pocket the temptation was probably to move out and enjoy himself to the full, which he certainly did, but giving him that independence, with a good wage was probably foolish on the club’s part. Regarding his career after Morton, bear in mind he was also part of the Clyde team that beat the beggars in the cup. Although Tony Wallace can also lay claim to that one.
