  1. What happens if they don't convert their pledges to payments, and the cub are saddled with players on contracts that they can't afford? Will Golden Casket be expected to make up the shortfall? Surely the best case scenario would be to withhold all monies until say, 1st June 2020 and then hand it over to Morton on an annual basis, allowing the club to work with a guaranteed budget rather than crossing our fingers every month and hoping for the best? I understand that that doesn't necessarily help in the short term and we'd have to do without this season, but in the long run, it would be a far more prudent approach.
  2. Good on him, hope he remains an ex-player.
  3. The guy's lack of social media presence has been a surprise to me too. I know he's on Twitter and Facebook and has had his Q&A session on here, but he really should be all over it like a dug eating mince. He was last active on this forum at 21.56 on the 20th May- the night of his Q&A session. That strikes me as the actions of someone that couldn't really give a flying fuck if we pledge or not. I couldn't ever see myself taking leadership on something like this, unless we got to a doomsday scenario and nobody else was prepared to, but I can guarantee that if I did, I'd be checking my phone all the time for folks' questions, comments, criticisms of my plans. A month off of posting on the club's most vibrant online forum at a time he's trying to fund raise? And, let's be honest, for all we slag each other, if you read the Facebook group, this is the place you're most likely to get serious, level headed questioning and debate compared to the mouth breathers over there. Am I asking too much of him, here?
  4. The Cameroon womens’ team doing a good impression of Zaire 1974 and Kuwait 1982, here.
  5. I would've argued he was definitely injured in that game, but looking back at the match thread it seems I'm wrong. Looks like he made his debut that day as a second half substitute (which I was also convinced of) but didn't come off injured. What a horrible, and unfamiliar feeling being wrong is.
  6. Got injured in a 5-0 win against Elgin IIRC. Without checking, it must’ve been a League Cup tie before it was regionalised and organised into groups for the early rounds.
  7. Why are you asking the moderator of the forum, instead of Mr McLennan?
  8. http://www.kilmarnockfc.co.uk/Article?id=8844&ShowCat= Assuming I’ve not been Gourlayed here, but this article popped up on my Facebook news feed. Carl Bertelsen has passed away at the age of 81. Sorry to hear it.
  9. Went to Kelty during the season there for a reserve game. It’s really not great, there’s nothing there. Of course East Stirling would be crap and EK’s well out the town but I wouldn’t get too excited about Kelty. It’s crap.
  10. Not been back to the Darroch since the day of Jim’s funeral when the party we were in must’ve out at least a grand behind the bar only to be told at 6pm that it was regulars only from then on. Shite way to treat folk that have lined your pocket, said at the time I wouldn’t be back and I haven’t missed it. Likewise the Lighthouse after their carry on with the Dundee United fans in December.
  11. Aye- for the record, don’t think I’m excusing his behaviour. He’s a cunt.
  12. A mate of mine met Raymond at a barbeque last night and was quick to tell him how he had a group of Morton mates who didn’t think so fondly of him. His message to the group chat might be of interest; “He was telling me loads about what went on at Morton and asked me to tell yous that he knows you all hate him but the reason he left was one of the boys involved in the club was an absolute prick and a liar . I can’t remember his name but he is now not at the club either . also that the contract he had was a joke . And he was telling me who he is signing for this Season and it’s bad news for you boys as he is raiding your team . Falkirk are going to be bought over in the nest 2 weeks and he is going to get money to spend .”
  13. Stefan McCluskey signs for Dumbarton.
  14. Absolutely, and who he supports.
  15. The only other game I can remember seeing him was in the derby at Hillsborough a few weeks before Kazakhstan and I thought he was alright- never even knew he was Scottish though, it actually crossed my mind that he might have been Carlton Palmer’s son. He might have played in the derby at Bramall Lane, but as I was at the game i wasn’t paying any attention to his individual performance the way you can watching a game on TV. On the Kazakhstan performance though, he wasn’t alone in being utter shite that day. Th’d be a few you’d be emptying if it was bad on that one game.
  16. Morgan’s a Rangers fan who played for St. Mirren and now plays for Celtic. That is not the definition of a “good lad”, fuck him.
  17. Nah, he’s not done a day’s proper graft in years.
  18. Declan McDaid has rejected a contract offer at Ayr.
  19. I already have asked, and got papped off to look through Twitter for my answers. When I eventually did, I discovered that there are members of Leadership Team that aren’t prepared to reveal who they are. That isn’t transparent. Not wishing to blow my own trumpet, but you know both Paul and myself very well. His attitude to Morton is a lot more “take or leave” than my own- I’m far more of a diehard than he is, yet I’m also of the view that there’s something that really doesn’t sit easy with all this. Why are MCT making it so difficult to find answers to some relatively straight forward questions?
  20. Of course he can’t name them- they don’t wish to be named, as stated on MCT’s website, in spite of Mr McLennan telling us there are no secrets. That’s no failing on Paul’s part. I’m surprised that you have an issue with pertinent questions being raised about this. I understand that it might come across as tedious, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing a bit of digging in order to find out where your money’s going, even if it is only a tenner a month. If a penny of my money goes towards someone like Danny Goodwin or Scott Gillan getting a blazer, a comfy seat in the stand and a role that could involve decision making at Cappielow one day, then it’s a penny I’ll rue. I’d much prefer that difficult questions are asked at this point than a couple of years down the line when some Nigerian conman gets on the phone to MCT after all the fun he had with Hamilton Accies and whips out half a million quid worth of our hard-earned.
  21. Further to this request that I made to Mr. McLennan for him to tell me who is involved in MCT, and his insistence that ”It's no secret who is involved and we've announced on twitter who the players in the MCT LT are”, to use his own words, I was advised by a friend that it might be worth trawling through Twitter after all, instead of waiting for the information to be placed on my lap (how lazy of me, it’s not as if they’re wanting my money or anything). Anyway, having gone onto their Twitter, and subsequently their website, I was pretty surprised to read the following; https://mortonclubtogether.com/QuestionAndAnswer.html “The most prominent members who have agreed to be named are Graham McLennan, Frank McNeil, Stuart McCartney, Kieran McLennan (Graham’s eldest son) and Graham Barr.” This piece was dated 27th April, and on 20th May Mr McLennan told us there are no secrets. I’m sorry, but this simply isn’t true. All I’ve asked for all along is transparency, which I don’t think is an unreasonable request, but it seems to be beyond MCT in it’s current form. Until such time as this is addressed, I’m afraid I can’t bring myself to commit to a body who’s not prepared to tell me exactly what I want to know, and when I specifically ask them to point out something that might not show them telling the whole truth, just ignore the question in the hope it’ll go away. I’m not prepared to have people who refuse to identify themselves be responsible for my money- it’s ridiculous that MCT allow members of their Leadership Team to remain anonymous whilst expecting well meaning fans to stump up.
  22. I suspect ToM had a few libations last night.
  23. Rather than inviting us to trawl through Twitter, could you just tell us who’s involved? Rhyming off a couple of ex-players from a bygone era who have given you their backing doesn’t sit to easily for those of us looking for a bit of transparency. What about those not involved in the Leadership Team? Are there some who are taking a back seat? I genuinely wish any project that’s of benefit to Morton all the best, but remain far from convinced at the moment about this one. Are there any of those previously involved with the GMST involved? Any potentially divisive local councillors with tendencies to lean towards, Celtic? In spite of your protestations, I’m really not sure we’re being told everything about everyone involved.
