  1. Showed my wife as a potential purchase for our year old grandson and she felt it may damage his development. She did pick out the whiskers as giving the impression that Cappie had been done over by a razor gang. I'm appreciating him more by the day.
  2. Hated Busby when the dirty animal played for Airdrie and Hearts. Loved him when he played for us and he was taking no prisoners. How do we turn into such fickle folk. RIP Drew - you were a hell of a professional and a 100% guy who ever you played for.
  3. Just reading some of the above which reminds me of why my dislike is righteous as well as justified but to add one to the mix. what was the outcome of the Manprick saga last season?
  4. This one goes way back to the 20s or 30s. My granda only referred to Partick as a 'music hall joke' and he had an abiding dislike for them. I never got to the bottom of it but at least I inherited the gene.
  5. I'm amazed at how often this happy clapper shit gets space on here. Same old inventions from the usual subjects rarely backed up by anything tangible. Morton fans are the worst in the world and only go to Cappielow to throw their pent up bile at poor wee guys who are only giving 100% week in week out. In my experience Morton fans are no different from fans I've seen at other clubs all over the country and the notion that they have driven away a host of stars or budding geniuses in nothing short of a lie. Perhaps it's time for the OP to give himself a break if this is clearly so upsetting.
  6. Sorry but this move was not made in heaven. His record since leaving us varied between the gutter and the sewer both in terms of goals and his propensity to spend Saturdays on the treatment table. He is deluded as are many footballers thinking they are better than their achievements, and he inspires no confidence in me. If Dougie can get get something positive out of him then fair play to him. I won't be holding my breath though.
  7. Never in a million years should Jai be considered as a Championship player.
  8. A bit surprised as I was sure he was gone, but what a bonus! Hopefully the next couple will be equally surprising.
  9. Expect an announcement on signing very soon. tbh I was expecting something at the tail end of last week but maybe they want Dougie back from his hols.
  10. Can only echo your opinion Nacho. I've never thought about the hospitality offered at Morton but based on this professional promotion fronted perfectly by Gerry and Andy I would now. This is sort of thing we've been screaming about for decades and shows what can be achieved by people who are interested enough to try. Well done to all involved.
  11. Strapp is likely to have attracted some attention elsewhere and unsurprisingly will be weighing his option.
  12. Stuart Duncan resigns from the board. 'Morton Club Together director, Stuart Duncan, has resigned from the board with immediate effect. Stuart was elected onto the board in December 2021 and led our Operations team. We wish him well for the future. At this time, we will be continuing to operate as a board of five up until the MCT AGM, which is due to be held in early September.....
  13. Seems a bit ott even given he's improved on his 1st season. We desperately need a creative midfielder and someone who can break up play and can pass accurately. Unfortunately Blues doesn't really fit the bill
  14. I've seen us in worse. Hopefully a new bespoke shirt won't be long coming.
  15. Agreed - prolific to us has become 6 or 7 goals a season. Reilly looked to me to offer a bit more but it's not break out the champagne stuff.
  16. Not a heartbreaker but Reilly looked to be a more promising player up front than Muirhead and Ugwu. However he clearly has a link with Queens and all the best to him. Puts a little more pressure on Dougie to find a goal scorer that can find the net more often than once a month.
  17. Totally agree. McGinn is able to break up play but it's nonsense to suggest he has the creativity we badly need. Our current options on the forward line are all experienced pros and they have done nothing in their careers to suggest they are likely to improve with time/coaching.
  18. I've seen a lot worse so won't get too upset. Pity about the hoops but so be it.
  19. I'd much rather the club devotes its resources to doing the work required during pre season rather than responding to every 'scoop' that the gutter press/social media come up with.
  20. I doubt he'll be at Thistle for much longer with that kind of return. Someone will take a punt on him and given he's getting real game time {albeit in the Juniors) he's probably on a level with some of our youngsters.
  21. I'm sure his 2 goals in 2 seasons made all the difference.
  22. We watched the Rae's run our club to the point of irrelevance with barely a word being spoken by half the fan base. Now because there are questions about how tough things are we are hearing that the Rae model might have been a better idea. This is going to be hard and anyone who thought it was going to be a stroll and that mistakes and missteps would never happen need to adjust their expectations.
