  1. I don't think you can really compare the team from last season to the one this season thanks to the Open Goal merger. They have players like Ryan Conroy, Kirk Broadfoot and I think Gary Fraser too if I remember correctly so there are good experienced players there for him to learn from. They beat Spartans at the weekend and they are currently 3-0 up away to Cowdenbeath last I saw. Hopefully the boy gets in the team and gives a good showing of himself.
  2. I'm not really fussed about them as a club, but it seems Simon Ferry is a Kenny Shiels type of manager that demands they play passing football at all costs even if the players aren't up to it, so in terms of the level and the type of football they'll be playing it should stand him in good stead if he gets game time. Not sure if learning to play nice football on the deck will help him at Morton though.
  3. They're playing in the league just now but they haven't put their starting lineup on twitter so no idea if he's in the squad.
  4. Our former player Kirk Broadfoot plays for them.
  5. I struggle to buy that it was a poorly worded statement regarding some niche sub group of people that leave and re-enter the ground that barely anyone even knew was a thing and wasn't mentioned at all in the statement. More likely for me is that they saw that their original tweet had over 100 quote tweets and rising and was quickly making its way around Scottish football fan twitter and beyond with lots questioning the legality of the actions of our " security partner " and decided to reverse course.
  6. Josh Mcpake signs for Queens Park on loan.
  7. I'd heard earlier in the summer it was foot asylum and was waiting for it to be announced by them and the club together at some point together like Gordon Ritchie said at the EGM and didn't really think about it again until I wondered wtf had happened to it earlier this week and was told that the deal was off. If the club have went back in to negotiations and it's announced on Monday that we've got a deal with them too and I look stupid then great, but I won't hold my breath. Edit to add: if I was confident in the club actually communicating this to the fans then I'd have waited for them to do so but since it's been radio silence ever since the EGM my hope is it being put on the forum will convince them to come put and clarify the situation for the fans.
  8. Interesting to see that one of our direct league rivals managed to not mess up negotiations with this brand as well. I'm sure the decent chunk of money they get from it will come in handy. Will MCT members ever get to hear about how at the EGM it was talked about like it was a done deal and now we get to watch competitors reaping the benefits of sponsorships and building relationships with major brands?
  9. Not that far off the radar to be fair, approximately 40 miles
  10. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/9191594/morton-dougie-imrie-vow-after-hibs-cup-shock/ Decent interview with Imrie. Chris Dodds the writer as well. Thought he was at Raith now but good to see he's still getting journalist work.
  11. A lot more favourable deal for the Easdales than they'd have got from the Raes when they're the only option left and MCT members have to vote on something that puts them between a rock and a hard place. Okay we can agree that instead if you want.
  12. The deal suited both parties when it came to Rae and MCT. You can't tell me that if it was the Easdales there would been the same willingness to make that happen, otherwise it would have happened. We can agree to disagree on the second sentence.
  13. Would he have given the millionaire Easdales as good a deal as he gave MCT with regards the debt write off and stadium transfer etc though? If/when the fan ownership model is deemed to have failed I'm sure they'll be right there to save the day with as cushty a deal as possible for them. A cynic would think that's always been the plan. Edit : id actually be okay with them owning the club if fan ownership fails, but there's definite skullduggery going on.
  14. It was pretty common knowledge that one of them was. Maybe he's realised that he'd be an absolute idiot to invest in a football club with no assets or potential for profit and he'd be much better just making MCT an offer we can't refuse if he really wanted to invest.
  15. I was impressed with him on the night after having heard him speak but taken at his word there's been a few things that haven't come to fruition the way he mentioned on the night, including the English friendly the fans were to get excited about I still don't really understand on who's authority he can resign from the MCT board but stay as a Morton director either, but that's probably just my idiocy tbh.
  16. The way I remember it on the night was that it was that sponsorship deal that increased the budget according to Ritchie. My memory is terrible though so could be mistaken.
  17. I see on the tele website Gordon Ritchie and Stewart Farmer are stepping down from the MCT board but are staying on as Morton Directors. Does this mean that MCT doesn't have a majority vote on board decisions now?
  18. Doubt we will ever see him but means the squad don't need to play worldie dubs instead of matches at training anymore.
  19. That's true I'll probably get one myself for the same reason, especially as smiths don't get a cut of the income.
  20. Club definitely learned from the hat that they need to get that merch on Dougie first if they want it to sell. The cat-tastrophe aside I'm enjoying the extra efforts made to increase commercial income this summer so far.
  21. Looks more like Bruce Forsyth than Cappie
  22. Chris Ross the new COO of stevenage. Good move for him.
  23. The only inflated sense of superiority I see in that situation is the bunch of guys psycho analysing football fans at a game.
  24. Literally zero of them were hounded out by the fans either. Got to be honest it's hard to take your point seriously when you've given about a dozen false examples.
  25. All you've done there is name players who've left the club tbh. Even the ones that don't get on with Morton fans it's because of after they left. I particularly can't remember the great hounding of Bobby Linn that made him leave. Tiffoney only got a hard time if anything once he came back on loan from Livingston and that was because he was barely good enough for the first team and was no longer one of our youth. O'Ware had ups and downs with the fans but wasn't truly disliked until he announced he was leaving before the final game of the season. Gaston is just bizarre as he loved his time here and gets on great with the fans.
