  1. He also said our budget is basically the same as last season. His point was more than other teams have come in to the league and offer more than us for competing players but he also said that about the teams who left the league and we managed to field a strong squad by the end of the season that could compete with any of them.
  2. Not going to doubt any Dougie signing without seeing him play, especially one he has played with and knows personally. If he thinks Boyd is good enough then I happy with it.
  3. Big Dunc looks to be leaving Forest Green potentially which would be objectively hilarious.
  4. A trial is a trial at the end of the day so I'm not too fussed. Perhaps Dougie liked how forward he was and decided to give him a chance. From what I have gauged online from twitter and his YouTube channel documenting his trials etc, he got his first pro contract at 27, is now 30 and has been relegated at his last 3 clubs
  5. 6ft 6" German according to Google. Sure we will find a Scottish club silly enough to take him on just on the basis of that alone.
  6. Imrie in the tele today saying that Doyle is just training and keeping himself fit and we aren't looking to offer him a deal. Also says he likes Deane and we are exploring possibility of a deal but his only concern about him is his height so we will see what happens.
  7. They really are just so desperate to be us.
  8. Fans don't like it but for championship clubs like ourselves the best players are often to be found towards the end of the window (loans from clubs who have their squads sorted) or after the window (players still without clubs having to drop down to a level of club below what they hoped for). There's certainly no need to panic yet, especially as a large portion of the squad was already signed up for this season.
  9. Disappointed he will be playing against him but absolutely no hard feelings for choosing a club like Dundee Utd that will be paying more wages than us. According to Wikipedia when I checked weeks ago he's only played about 150 career games at the age of 28 so if that's the case then he needs to make the most of his stock being high.
  10. Not surprised he isn't signing but hope he goes down south. We are never going to replace everything that he brought to the team but looking at it with a glass half full we can maybe bring in someone with a bit better attacking qualities from fullback.
  11. John Maisano now the assistant manager at Ligue 2 Troyes. Move over Janne Lindberg we've got a new dark horse candidate every time the Morton job becomes available.
  12. Can take or leave the shirt personally but will absolutely be getting it due to the morton in the community front of shirt sponsor. Dalrada really have been excellent for us.
  13. Brilliant from the club and Dalrada. Still getting used to being proud of this club.
  14. He was sent off for denial of a goalscoring opportunity so whether it was mistimed or malicious doesn't come in to it. Surprised how many people don't think that's a red card when for me it's one of the clearest red cards you'll see under the current laws of the game.
  15. Excellent number so far although I'm sure they included the free kids tickets in the numbers last year so I assume the 750 does too. Even if it's a lot less paid season tickets than 750, if it's more than last season then it's still extra money earlier for the club which can only be a good thing.
  16. Not had this email yet but if I don't get my matchwinner shirts then I'll be burning every piece of Joma kit I have in a fit of rage.
  17. I'd imagine it's because Smiths are still contracted for the strips. The shopify site is for the club to sell other stuff that they get the majority of the proceeds from. I've preordered the strip and was delighted to see that smiths still have the Scottish Cup centenary kit on sale as I accidentally put mine in the washing with something blue and the white hoops stained so that's two new kits on the way to me in time for going in holiday.
  18. It's blue and white hoops I don't know how bespoke that can get tbh. 150th anniversary top is coming out next season now as well. For sure the club could have communicated better that this would be another off the shelf number and nothing to do with the anniversary like Gordon Ritchie (I'm sure it was) had mentioned but in terms of a Morton kit it's more than fine, especially given we've retro kits and a new third kit available as well.
  19. Don't understand the hatred tbh. Been crying out for a blue and white fully hooped shirt with a decent looking sponsor for years and we've got one. Never going to be in anyone's top five morton tops ever but it's nowhere near the worst. Edit to add: unless the photo just makes it look like it's fully hooped then I reserve the right to take my opinion back.
  20. Was a bit disappointed that this was to be the 150th anniversary kit given how basic it is but I notice they say in the article that next seasons kit will be the 150th anniversary one now. Doesn't seem to be getting great reviews on twitter but I like it. My initial reaction was that it was a bit underwhelming but after zooming in on it I think it's very nice and will definitely be getting it.
  21. Like that a lot. I zoomed in on the photo and it's a very tidy kit. Dalrada sponsorship looks nice on it as well. Mcgills taken their ball home in a huff? A short sponsor as well which I think is new? What a time to be alive
  22. Still feel those were harsh. He was getting slaughtered for his disciplinary record at that time when Gillespie and Strapps yellow card records were basically just as bad at that time despite them not being the target for referees. After that week I feel like he controlled himself pretty well throughout the season even though refs were still desperate to come after him for nothing.
  23. Excellent news delighted with that.
  24. Confirmed Carlo signing as well. Callum Wilson as well. Decent bit of business early doors for Dumbarton.
  25. Interesting to hear that he's had enquiries about Blues from a higher level. Definitely not a coincidence that multiple managers have either put their faith in him or liked what they see on the pitch from him compared to what some fans see.
