I think that is the crucial point. Whilst the word salad job title is certainly something, I'd imagine he will essentially be an assistant manager and give a steer to Imrie on recruitment, much like Andy Millen did. As VT has said, it also means that we should reduce the disruption to the squad if/when Imrie leaves. I'd be very surprised if Imrie is still here at the end of the season, and an experienced manager in the backroom staff *should* serve us better than having to appoint an external caretaker or someone from the current playing staff should Imrie leave mid-season.
