#1135024 Why do you hate Falkirk?

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 27 March 2020 - 01:22 PM

One of the Falkirk fans who ran on the pitch in the 1-1 draw at Cappielow has been given an 18 month football banning order and a 4 month 7pm-7am curfew, enforced by an electronic tag. He is also banned from attending any public house displaying football for the duration of his ban.

He's currently 17, meaning he won't be able to go to the pub on his 18th birthday if there's football on the TV. Outstanding

#1134939 Your Morton 6-a-side Team

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 22 March 2020 - 04:34 PM

6 a side is a mugs game. I'm not interested.

Over here the norms are 4 a side and 6 a side and I think I've been converted. 6s is played on a pitch that's the same length as a 5s pitch but much wider, and with 7 a side goals. 6s >>> 5s.

#1134644 Chinese Coronavirus threatens Dundee Utd game

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 13 March 2020 - 10:40 AM

I'm torn between wanting the leagues to finish now, with current league positions being final, or whether to void this season's league entirely.

Hearts and Partick both getting relegated along with Falkirk staying in League One would be glorious. However, Liverpool's first league win in 30 years being ruled null and void would be absolutely spectacular.

Let's face it, if anyone is going to catch a life threatening disease at a Morton game, it's going to be from the Norseman.

#1134357 The Morton weekly podcast

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 06 March 2020 - 05:30 PM

Actually another interesting part is that he says constant shouted instructions from the touchline are off-putting (for him). Evans was a prick about it; Duffy also did it but not aggressively, just out of habit.

I don't think any of us could do our jobs properly with Jim Duffy constantly screaming 'Ricki! Ricki! Ricki!' beside us.

#1134285 The Morton weekly podcast

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 04 March 2020 - 11:14 AM

As someone who suffers with mental health, yes maybe I do have a few chips on my shoulder from my experiences in life so far.

That’s something I work hard to address and no I’m not perfect and never would claim to be a die hard fan in nature that you have . Haven’t done so and wouldn’t done so but I’ve owned season tickets many times over the years and put my money into the club - not that makes me special or worthy of praise because it doesn’t as there are people on here who will have put 10x more into the club in their lifetime.

What I would say is hiding behind anonymous names on here like you rightfully called out on twitter and constantly moaning about all things from top to bottom (not just about the podcast but the club in general) does no one any good. No wonder people suffer from mental health issues when all that seems to come along is negativity. If you want to remove me from the forum please do - the fact so much energy is going into this is beyond dull surely even for you.

As has been mentioned previously, nobody here is hiding. The regular contributors on here know who 75% or so of the other regular contributors are. A screen name does not amount to hiding.

You really can't help but deliver sanctimonious lectures, can you? First of all, absolutely nobody on here constantly moans about everything at the club from top to bottom. As I said in a previous post, feel free to correct me on that. But more importantly, if people are critical towards the club, who exactly are you to tell them not to be? You remind me of Greenock taxi drivers who give it the 'you should never have sacked Duffy' line, before asking you how Peter Weatherson has been playing this season.

As I've mentioned all along, I don't have anything against your podcast. I want more Morton content out there. I offered some constructive criticism about ways I think you could improve your knowledge of the significance your interviewees have to the club. However, and this is the reason this conversation has lasted as long as it has, half a dozen podcasts doesn't give you the divine right to start lecturing people about how they should support the club.

#1134153 The Morton weekly podcast

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 02 March 2020 - 06:19 PM

To answer your question honestly yes. The person who has the account was a friend of my dads and has been talking the podcast up a lot which has been nice but went too far last night and when I saw it was causing a fuss I was raging hence why I didn’t engage with it at all. Even on P and B I’ve talked up the clubs media output and defended Ewan from the unnecessary critical remarks he is receiving from some ‘fans’

That's up there with 'I've actually got a bird, she lives up my Gran's bit and goes to a different school' when it comes to bullshit lines.

Also, a quick heads up; putting fans in inverted commas when referring to Morton fans is only effective when you yourself are actually a Morton fan. Someone who claims to have more clubs than Tiger Woods doesn't get to play that card.

To be honest this forum in particular has been very negative towards my content and even much of Ewan’s too which is very strange in my opinion as it’s promoting the club in a positive light and giving fans chances to interact with members of the club. Not that I need your approval to keep going as to be honest whatever people’s opinions of me are I couldn’t give a .. to be honest. As long as the club are happy with what I’m doing I’ll keep going.

I don't remember any over the top criticism on here or anywhere else, feel free to point me in the direction of any. Promoting the club in a positive light is a minimum expectancy given how much you stood/stand to gain by using Morton's contacts and clout in return for producing a podcast linked to the club. You're not exactly in golden Blue Peter badge territory for saying a few nice things on forums and social media.

The content of the podcasts I've listened to was fine, however it became plainly obvious that you had no real insight into the players and their significance to the club in the Wake and McLaren podcasts. A quick glance at Wikipedia and the squad lists for the seasons being discussed seemed to be the extent of your background knowledge, and it showed. But don't let constructive criticism get in the way of you playing the Scott McLaughlin (he was a midfielder who played for Morton between 2005-2008) patented 'Big Bad Morton Fans' card.

Nesbitt can go, Cadden would be a blow

I'd rather keep both and play Nesbitt just behind the main striker.

#1132890 Another sad passing

Posted by BishopLenBrennan on 27 January 2020 - 07:24 AM

He handed out the medals and trophy when our school played in the basketball Scottish Cup final. He was lovely and took the time to commiserate us and give us a few pointers after the final. It's horrible to think that he's taken his own life.
