  1. I bought my season ticket (concession, Cowshed) online, and it was a fairly straightforward procedure once I had worked out which of my accounts was the latest one (different emails addresses) & also realised that my GMFC TV account was yet another email address. Anyway the whole process, which was a renewal of last year's car rather than a brand new card, was perfectly straightforward. However I would have expected to get an email confirmation for the club, but nothing has come through - unless it's done manually and takes a while, there will be the nagging doubt that my card won't work when I reach the turnstiles. I'd also like to have received confirmation that last season's code for access to the stream is unchanged for the new season, but nothing about that so far. Overall, buying/renewing a season ticket seems to be possible but the whole process is lacking a bit of feedback to confirm that everything is running smoothly.
  2. The back of the strip looks a much lighter blue than the hoops on the front. Looks more like a Rangers shade of blue than our royal blue.. The sponsors on the rear look pretty horrific too. is that another sponsor on the left sleeve too?
  3. What's an "international" season ticket? Is that just a matter of using a VPN or do you have to provide an overseas address? And can you use such a thing at the turnstiles if you are "visiting" Scotland?
  4. I bought a season ticket last year because with streaming it made sense. I also bought most of the away games too so a bit of income spread around the division there too. Absolutely no way that’s the case this year as actually getting to home games is becoming a bit of a struggle & likely I will only make it to a few games. A retrograde step frankly and fuck UEFA. At our level, is it really necessary to cut people off from their team? Do they think anyone will as a consequence pay to watch the elite teams instead?
  5. The other Andy Ritchie was a decent player. I remember Oldham fans chanting there’s only one Andy Ritchie and thinking they really were hitting the wrong note there. I had a feeling he got a move to Man U, but Google has reminded me that’s where he started, moving to the Latics later in his career. Also had a spell at Leeds. I had no idea Oldham we’re so far down the leagues. Sad to see.
  6. Also Raith Rovers, & Inverness at a push. Dundee is sort of by the sea too. Only Hamilton & Partick are not right next to a coast.
  7. I also think that polo looks dreadful. A big black slab (navy apparently but looks more like black to me, although maybe not priest black). However, at least we are trying to expand the range.
  8. I worded that carefully on purpose. Not really a matter for this thread but worth researching. The whole thing stinks of fish. I’m sure the truth will come out eventually.
  9. Astonishing amount of foaming at the mouth here. It’s a room hire. Nobody is implicitly or explicitly endorsing the views of the party concerned. The seethe on this thread could come from the Daily Mail comments section. Alex Salmond is now a hate figure to many, mainly due to the disgraceful reporting of his trial, at which he was cleared of all charges, most of which were frankly ridiculous. He has been smeared to the point that he will never be able to return politically. He is still being smeared regularly by some of the anonymous witnesses, women who I cannot name on here even though I know a few of their names. There are a lot more important issues than Salmond doing a launch of an updated wee blue book which could have been done at any of hundreds of venues. The club is not endorsing anything so just take the money and stick it in the bank. Tomorrow’s chip paper, or would have been before that was banned.
  10. I see no problem with hiring out Cappielow to political parties. It's income. I would draw the line at the National Front or whatever their successors are these days - Tories probably think - but there's no good reason to turn down an income stream here.
  11. I got one for Xmas or maybe it was for my birthday. Anyway it looks decent, but it's not something you'd use as a bath towel - be fine for covering a sunbed though. No way it's worth £25 but that's not really the point, is it? Now, just need the return of the Morton golf umbrella.
  12. Aye, that was it, Drummond. Quite a nice building facade.
  13. Mining equipment i think. Did they have another place further west on the main road, not too far from where Tesco is now?
  14. Yes, that’s what I was told it was.
  15. The candy stripes were definitely around in 1963. In those days the shirts didn’t change every season.
  16. Think that shirt was also being used in 63-64.
  17. Having a fully open vote might make it a target for any random who wants to see us end up with a really shite strip, like black or ,hang on, actually like any of the 4 options.
  18. The options aren't very exciting. The red and black ones can go in the bin. The black one particularly as black strips are terrible for visibility. The yellow one is OK but just a bit meh. The yellow and navy much the same. Surely we can do better than that? I have no idea what Joma quality is like although my own Joma training gear for coaching is ok, even if the sizes sometimes don't really relate to the size marked on the label.
  19. I hope when they get more in, they have a supply on sale outside Cappielow on match days.
  20. Remember that Bartram hat trick. Game was over within ten minutes of kick off.
  21. That’s more like it. Well done.
  22. Both of the 2 clubs to which you refer have dined at the top table for the last century, funded by a long-standing mutual exploitation of the sectarianism that divides Scotland (although it’s not quite as bad nowadays). They both still have elements that adhere to the old divide, although it does now seem to be far worse in the red white and blue side. Not all OF fans are bigots of course, but the bigots are generally the loudest, stuck in their ways. The political unionism of a large section of the Rangers support was possibly a reason the 2014 indyref2 was lost & even nowadays the biggest roasters on social media have profiles that demonstrate that their football team’s “culture” dictates their political beliefs. One of the good things about supporting Morton is that most of our support don’t care about 17th century history. I have no idea what religion, if any, my fellow supporters are. That is actually a very strong base on which to build a community asset like Morton. Maybe we could also lose the slight tinge of racism and other isms that remain, although that is more a legacy of our society than a football issue. We need to ensure Morton is an inclusive club under our ownership.
  23. I think you need to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. I have no idea who is actually on the GMFC board, nor why they are there. Apart from Nick Robinson who has I think some relevant financial experience. We need to start from scratch & elect a board that can achieve better than what we have had - that board has to be supported by people who can implement the decisions and make things work. Ideally the board say “we want to achieve this” and the folk employed by the club do what is needed. Football decisions should be the responsibility of the manager. I think we maybe need the Augean stables valeted - but allowing for any current incumbents who can show they have done a decent job. And yes, it needs to be open and transparent.
  24. I think there is probably a need for MCT as an entity to have a board of directors, and for Morton as a company to have a board of directors. MCT don't own 100% of Morton (I know that as I myself own a small number of shares in GMFC, shares which I have not novated to MCT (I think that is the correct term). Seems to me that MCT, as a major shareholder, should have board representation on the boar of GMFC, although maybe not making up 100% of the board. the remaining bord members of gMFC should need to justify their presence - it's not sufficient to say that they were there last year and are there in perpetuity. I would think that MCT should have board membership roughly proportional to their share ownership percentage. I don't think that the board of MCT necessarily also have to be on the board of GMFC - in fact there might be some merit in having separation of responsibilities to allow better scrutiny. At the moment, I have no idea who is giving the orders or dictating policy.
  25. My concerns are about whoever is figureheading the organisation. Also as far as the Morton FC board is concerned, how were the MCT folk on that board selected? And who from the previous board (from the Rae tenure) is still on the Morton board, and why? no problem if there is continuity but as de facto (and actual) shareholders, that info should be available to all without having to search for it. I would suggest that at some stage, the Morton board should all put themselves up for election. They may be the best folk for the job but it shouldn't be an old pals act, and I think we need to be able to vote on who we think are the best folk to make decisions about how the club is run.
