  1. Yeah those choices aren't great, but as the email says it's a one season kit with an aim of getting bespoke kits for the season after next. I'm guessing the home kit is being kept for another season as is the 3rd kit seeing as that's labelled 21-23 on Smiths?
  2. Yeah that wouldn’t be bad but if quality is important to you I’d be wary of Adidas. Love their casual gear but I’ve not been impressed with the quality of recent Scotland tops. my last 2 are covered in bobbles and pulls and they’ve not exactly been through much
  3. Yeah agreed I’d only go back to a big brand that would offer a bespoke design The best top I’ve had quality wise was the first pin stripe shirt. The current home top seems good material but things like the badge being wonky and the team wearing different versions where the hoops don’t match up rip my knitting! You wouldn’t get that crap with a established brand (you’d think)
  4. Pretty sure Airdrie have got bespoke kits from Umbro so there’s no need to put up with the off the shelf template nonsense if we did go back to a brand name! Plus with Umbro being a historic kit supplier for Morton there’s a possibility to get some decent retro gear produced!
  5. I'm guessing at the very least, the 4 MCT guys currently on the board are there as volunteers and don't take any wage? It would be an absolute hoot if all 6 members with no football background at all were getting a wage while lamenting how expensive hiring someone with any football experience would be.
  6. I don’t know the first thing about running a football club (hence why I’m saying we need people who do) but I’m sure if I joined and my first suggestion was “you all don’t know what you’re doing! GTF” I would be everyone’s best friend! Still, great idea though!
  7. So basically the current board have us by the short and curlys? Stop/don’t contribute and keep them in place or the clubs gone? I’ll be honest I haven’t joined MCT yet and won’t the way things are going. I was sceptical in the beginning as I saw it as basically the Rae’s getting the fans to pay for the upkeep of the club saving them money. I’m looking at this board and with the exception of Graham Barr who at least has some sporting background, wtaf do any of the other board members bring relevant to running a football club?! 2 of them have been there for 7 odd years and as far as I can see have contributed SFA? Especially one who’s main remit according to Hawke was financial sustainability!
  8. I suppose we can all take comfort in the fact that we don't have this board: Absolutely delicious viewing
  9. Ooft! I'd be sending that back and all! That badge looks nowhere near where it should be in relation to the photo released a few months back!
  10. That would require pro-active rather than the usual reactive thinking down at Cappielow! On a positive note Smith's emailed me to say my top was in the post so happy days!
  11. It’s you that’s in charge of advertising isn’t it?
  12. I find it very believable especially seeing as someone was supposedly given info from the club about a 2pm cut off for tickets at the ground which was nowhere to be seen in any of the posts from the club. Who’s gonna make the effort to go to the ground only to find they’re too late to get in!? It would have taken very little extra effort for the first info about the game to say “tickets available from Smiths and the Cappielow ticket office until x o’clock”! took me 10 seconds to type. Common sense during normal times would make you think tickets are available at the ground no bother, but these aren’t normal times! As usual Morton make things harder than they need to be. Also don’t get me started on the website still directing people to gmfctickets.co.uk
  13. Aye just saw that on Twitter. Guess I'll be rocking up to the ticket office at 2:30 with my fingers crossed ETA I have absolutely no problem doing that in the mean time if it means Interstadia have been binned!
  14. Aye, I was holding off on posting the same thing in the daft hope they may actually let us know at least within a day or 2 before the game. Also tried logging into gmfctickets.co.uk to see what my options were, absolutely nothing was the answer! That site would have you believe there isn't even a game this weekend!!
  15. I can understand the delays, as long as mine turns up before September in decent nick and not looking like one of the tin pot tops above with mis-aligned hoops I'll be happy! Doesn't look like it but every other team uses a proper branded sports gear supplier!
  16. Aye because we've not had a big brand kit supplier for years. The Nike stuff was guff and it's the usual off shelf stuff other teams our size end up with.
  17. That's my thinking/hoping too! For me, not wasting time on announcing the management team was the main concern, which they didn't do. I don't necessarily agree with the decision made but I at least I'm happy they didn't hang about. As soon as the takeover is announced they must announce season tickets prices etc. Interesting to see what the strips are like given they were 'excited' about them which makes me think we might not get the usual, lazy, off the shelf templates we usually do.
  18. Tried but simply isn't good enough for Championship football. I'm fairly happy he'll be playing against us rather than for us
  19. Good read! That Thistle game is still up there with my favourite Morton memories! What a night we had in the west end after the game!
  20. Deservedly so! He's not doing any of this out of the goodness of his heart! He/GC are obligated as the owners to keep people gainfully employed and a local institution alive! If he/GC pulled the plug and killed a nationally recognised tier 2 football club simply because it no longer suits having GMFC on the GC books, the damage to his own and GC's reputation would be catastrophic! The motives are simple, whether they're his or the GC board's. Claw some money back! They may not be trying to recover all the £2.5M but they're certainly trying to recover some! As I mentioned above however, DDFR stated publicly Morton have no debt, he was GC and the money was spent by him. Suddenly that "debt" is very real now that DDFR is sadly no longer with us and the fans are to cough up £400K to write it off but don't get any of the assets?! The Rae's and/or GC are at it. If they really wanted shot of Morton with it being such a drain to GC could they not simply write off the debt and hand everything over to MCT. Nothing which would become of Morton in the future would be of any tarnish on theirs or DDFR's legacy if that's what they're worried about. But they haven't. Someone wants that money back! Maybe there is possible tax implications with writing it off! but I suspect it could be something as simple as HMRC suddenly see GC offloading Morton and becoming incredibly more profitable in the space of a tax year and suddenly decide to have a closer look at their books!
  21. You're putting a lot of faith in someone that has shown themselves to be rather untrustworthy in recent years. There is no "debt", DDFR stated so publicly, so no matter how you dress this up Rae is still gaining financially with the 2 terrible options we're presented with? Option 1 he holds on the the keys to the only valuable asset the club has, who cares if the "debt" is written off? If MCT fails to keep the club going (which I'm guessing he fully expects) then he's got the stadium to cash in on! Option 2, the "debt" is still on the books and as such if MCT fails, GC are the main creditors and get the most say in how assets are divided so both options are win win for Rae. Also what actual control or influence would Rae have if we did go into hardship? None. GC would own the stadium or have most say in use as an asset so he would have no influence on how we would run as a football club and how we would have to deal with the SPFL. In that event it would be most likely that the board of GC would simply sell Cappielow as the terms of the lease would be most likely broken. I personally believe no one in their right mind would buy/take over running of Morton under those conditions and would almost certainly be the death of the club as a professional entity in the top leagues. I truly hope MCT understand how pivotal this moment in the clubs future is.
  22. Anyone read this about Rowan Alexander? Basically saying he was too successful at Gretna and they binned him because they couldn't afford the expense of promotion to the SPL https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rowan-alexander-opens-up-gretna-13729452
  23. Was that the same game a young Robert Snodgrass scored a belter of a free kick to win it and celebrated right in front of the Morton support? Hated him after that game but forgiven him now
  24. there used to be a big bugger of a seagull living somewhere on broomberry drive in gourock which used to torment one of my pals as soon as she entered the street all the way to her door. dont know if its still there. also last summer another of my pals had relatives over from australia and they shat themselves when they saw the size of the gulls in largs lol their gulls down under are roughly the same size as our pidgeons.
