  1. Is there a chance Woods can be moved on?
  2. Yes. I think it would be irresponsible to both the team and the player himself to go in with him as first choice. He's definitely earned another chance to impress but if for whatever reason he went off form it could knock his confidence irrevocably.
  3. OK, "good" was overstating it. "Could physically play football a bit" is closer. Newby never looked within a million miles of the required standard, Kudus was occasionally effective.
  4. The last English non-loanee who was good was Kudus. We have a terrible record with players from England that goes back well before Imrie. We've had guys like Jon Newby wash up at the container terminal and somehow given them a pair of boots and a strip.
  5. He was on Saudi money at Accies, even with a reduction clause I imagine he's well out of our price range.
  6. Makes you wonder how much he was on. Given that he was one of our top performers I'm frankly surprised that we wouldn't offer similar terms anyway just out of wanting to keep him.
  7. Their fans rate him highly enough, which I'll accept as "good enough for this level."
  8. This is very true, but there's also a huge gap between the EPL/top of the Championship in England, and mid-table in our Championship. Chilokoa-Mullen at Dunfermline also came through at Leeds and he's doing very well at EEP. So who knows?
  9. I'm sure Dougie has done his homework and the guy is eager to impress. Best of luck to him. We'll see soon enough.
  10. I'm always very, very skeptical of guys who are aging out of 21s without playing first team football. However, Dougie has a decent track record, and we're not in a position where we can name our targets easily, so good luck to him and I hope this works out. Apparently he was close to a loan move to Hibs last season.
  11. What are you actually hoping to get out of this? The stadium director got asked about this at the MCT meeting recently, he answered it, and now you know what the answer was. If you think there's something else going on why not just spit it out?
  12. Why are you putting hundreds in scare quotes? There were dozens in the room and hundreds dialed in online, it's an accurate figure. Actually sack all that, I reckon you've cracked it, nobody said anything since February, they're never going to reopen the Cowshed, it was all a ruse.
  13. He said in front of hundreds of people what was happening, I'm sure if you shoot him an email he'll be happy to repeat it for you since you're pretending not to have heard it.
  14. Yeah, I'd go with that if all else was equal, cost-wise, but I knew in advance who I wanted to do the work from previous engagements. It's possible they'd even have been on the list in the first place.
  15. Maybe it's unusual in Scotland but here in Texas, where I have personally made such a claim for a business, I'd be telling them to get fucked if they tried to send their own people out. They send me the check and I get the work done.
  16. They've already said they're working with the insurers. They want to know the scope of the payout and what work needs to be done, and what else can be done at the same time, before commencing. It's dragging on a bit but it's not accurate to say they've not communicated the plan. The plan is to see what funds are available and take it from there.
  17. Apparently they're not even enforcing the under 2s thing.
  18. Yeah, would be interesting to see how he got on in League Two or maybe even League One. I have a lot of respect for him, he bust a gut for us and was clearly trying to make it work, but I think he's just too far up the pyramid to be effective.
  19. Davies, realistically, isn't getting another full-time gig, so unless he's desperate to move back to Wales I reckon we're lumbered with him.
  20. We'll need at least three central defenders, absolute minimum. But today's signings go a huge way to cementing the midfield. Happy with all of them.
  21. Thought he was going to Kilmarnock.
  22. While not at the level of Cappielow I've handled submitting and seeing to completion (insurance back-and-forth, getting the check from the insurer, getting the repairs done, figuring out what to do with the small excess amount we had left over) a claim for a business that suffered pretty severe roof damage. Leaving aside the obvious legal differences between Texas and Scotland: Sure, all else being equal (own the property, no planning permission stuff etc.) you can fix anything you want whenever you want. It wouldn't ruin our claim necessarily. Presumably (and this is a presumption) the insurer has already been out to have a look and has got the evidence they need. If that's the case it doesn't matter if we start repairing it now. But if the club is still waiting on the insurer to decide on a payout, they may decide - and I'd agree with them if they did - it's far too risky to start repairs now. We do have a bit of cash in the bank but we need to be prudent with it, and the most prudent thing right now is to wait for insurance to run its course. That's what I picked up as well, it's "will the money we get from the insurer allow us to do more than simply patch up the roof here?" If that's the case it's all the more reason to wait - no point in getting someone up there to just patch it up, then finding out there's scope to do more work and having to go through it again. The only thing I find strange is how slowly the insurer is moving, but I've never made a roof claim in Scotland so maybe it's not a fair basis for comparison.
  23. Plus if you want in at the 4th division level there's cheaper ways of doing it. Thorn, who are going great guns, are a fine example of that. And unlike Broomhill they seem to have a plan to be a local club for local people.
