  1. That’s a good signing. A left back with a bit of experience. Will offer something similar to Grimshaw in terms of running and work rate.
  2. I don’t believe we were going to offer Griffiths anything as the reports of our interest in him were later said to be utter b*llocks, thankfully
  3. When Miller arrived and it was mentioned he could play LB I was worried he was signed in anticipation of Strapp leaving. Now that Strapp is out injured, my preference would be to give King a run. He seems to have developed considerable with his physique and he has shown promise in flashes when he’s got minutes in. Let’s see if we have Strapp’s successor in the squad already.
  4. His goal against Aberdeen is really all that I know about the guy. Glancing at his career stats it looks like he signed for Accies for the second half of Dougie’s final season, so I guess he made a good impression at the time. Another option to compete/rotate with Muirhead is good for squad balance. His Wikipedia page has been updated…
  5. Who’s our best option to take up Gillespie’s more defensive centre-mid role while he’s suspended?
  6. New squad photo shared on Twitter. Take it that’s some of the loanees coming back?
  7. I guess because he initially chose not to re-sign, expecting to move on to a bigger club, then wound up back with us when no offers of note materialised? He turned down Accies to stay with us, so that’s got to be a small mark in his favour.
  8. Wee Fred will be playing in the Europa League for Omonoia against Man U, Real Sociedad and Sheriff Tiraspol
  9. We really need a signing in the Kiltie or Cadden mould where we somehow get a hold of someone who’s really too good for us. 2 or 3, ideally.
  10. Lyon’s best spell last season was probably when he was dropped deeper, so I would be happy enough to see Imrie try him there again, either as part of a three or as a two alongside Jacobs.
  11. Lads, gather round for a quick ‘wah wah’. Having reached consensus last week that a quantifiable portion of the Morton support possess an inflated sense of superiority over [unspecified], during the course of today’s match we must now attribute this to one of the following: A] the transference of an inferiority complex B] they believed their mammys who always told them they were special C] the bovril was laced with high purity cocaine, often said to imbue the user with an increased level of confidence and self-worth D] we require a highly contentious stick, any stick in fact, to fight back against the entirely fictional band of hoodlums we [for which you may read ‘I’] have invented.
  12. These are not inspiring signings. Just going to hope against hope they turn out to be enormously surprising successes for us.
  13. Having the sponsor’s logo sublimated in a jersey’s fabric is pretty rare. If you had a look around Smith’s selection of English or European club’s shirts I’d expect all of them to have the sponsor printed on.
  14. Wilson had a pretty wretched first couple of games, looking way, way off the pace. He did show some improvement, mainly in terms of fitness and effort, but I don’t think he was anywhere near ‘excellent’ at any point.
  15. That’s interesting, the TFG home jersey sported 3 of the more contentious features that are debated on here - an appliqué monochrome club crest, the red ‘half pounders’ sponsor and a polo style collar. The size of the hoops and the shade of blue did look great, though.
  16. I do really like it from the front but the back is a bit grim. Will look better with a name and number in there. Presumably we’ll go with white numbers and lettering. Was a real shame they didn’t get the gold sets for the Cup Centenary jersey.
  17. Before the decision to move on from Vision myself and Gavin were asked to come up with away kit concepts. I posted these on Twitter a while ago but here they are for those that want to see them/slag them
  18. It looks to me as though it’s both - the hoops aren’t consistently aligned as you point out, but the placement of the badge relative to the collar placket is also different.
  19. Inter are the latest to make a real arse of it. Their badge was excellent and managed to look modern despite the fact the central part was the same as it had been in 1908. They’ve swapped it for something not a million miles away, but absolutely worse.
  20. He was cursed with a lack of pace. Wondered how he would do if he migrated to more of a deep lying playmaker role, but for whatever reason the only player shifted there ‘experimentally’ in those days was Mark Russell.
