  1. Not keen at all on amending the articles to remove the need for the majority MCT reps on the GMFC board. They can spin it any way they want but to me that email just looks like an interim MCT board that’s currently favourable to the GMFC board, Chairman and Dalrada attempting to consolidate their power without needing to purchase any shares. Im no expert but if MCT doesn’t have the ability to at least in theory have the majority vote on the board then how are they as an organisation ever meant to hold the people running to the club ever again? I’ve nothing against Dalrada or Bonnar but anything that gives Laird, Barr and Robinson more power and less accountability is a massive red flag in my book.
  2. I don’t remember being the greatest fan of Gordon Ritchie during his time running the club (although I had heard he was the only one in the building doing anything) but I’m glad someone with direct knowledge and the sort of standing to at least be listened to by fans and not treated as ITK whispers has come out and explained parts of what has been doing the rounds among groups of fans and those within every level at the club, that the club has been a toxic shambles behind the scenes for a while under the current stewardship and the success of Dougie Imrie, Andy Millen and the players have papered over a lot of cracks that have covered for proper scrutiny on those who run the club. I’m glad Ritchie’s diagnosis has been downgraded and wish his full health going forward.
  3. The last time we were forced in to pleasing a sponsor we ended up with Alexander Easdale starting up front.
  4. Morton board getting their narrative out nice and early. No surprise they’re using the Dalrada deal to strike fear in to fans. Wouldn’t expect anything less from some of the poisonous characters involved.
  5. Heard earlier that the general manager has made the decision to remove ball boys and replace them with Morton in the community attendees. You can argue the fairness of that either way but the wee boy I know was absolutely gutted. Massive Morton fan who gets bought all the club strips and merchandise etc who absolutely loved his role and is now disenfranchised from the club. Losing loyal and valuable office staff, kit men and now ball boys since the arrival of Dale. Funny that. he was a media guy at his previous clubs and was brought in to do general manager duties with no experience in working in a football department yet he couldn’t get his hands on doing player negotiations/recruitment and fluffing his CV quick enough while we go in to the first game of another season with the matchday experience a shambles again. Do your actual job Dale.
  6. I can see Crawford being one of our most creative players and redeeming himself this season, but unfortunately I can also see that being in a struggling team with gaping holes through its spine that can’t be filled because we’ve used up a part of our budget giving him a contract.
  7. Future hall of famer Jack Harkness signs on loan at Stirling Albion from Rangers.
  8. Even the kids Ton club is what £30 is it not? There were surely some kids there having the time of their life that aren’t signed up to that and parents that could have been convinced to part with their money.
  9. Being given his debut by Klopp in the EFL cup quarter final vs Aston Villa is doing a bit of heavy lifting in that article as well considering Klopp was on the other side of the world with the first team and Bearne only came on as a sub for the youth team that Liverpool played that day.
  10. Corr dislocated his shoulder at Raith a few months ago and has done it again twice since signing for Morton. You can’t legislate for every injury but you shouldn’t be coming out with nonsense like that in interviews because it will always come back to bite you. The fact he’s the general manager and spending far too much time speaking about football matters rather than almost everything else off the pitch that seems to be at a standstill makes it even worse. The only actual thing that I can think of that he’s implemented in his time so far is integrating the women’s team in to the club, which although admirable is not something I’ve seen discussed about the cost of that and if it’s sustainable for a fan owned club at our level to cover that cost? I genuinely don’t know the answer to that but I can’t imagine it’s cheap and if it’s self sustainable at this level or the level the women play at or ever will be. so much of the things he does from his middle management speak, five pillars, getting involved in football matters and almost being the front face of talking about them plastered all over internal and external media outlets as well as being the saviour of Greenock Morton Women’s team screams of someone trying to pad their CV for his next employer rather than someone who’s actually implementing any real change or progress at the club.
  11. Even Bearne scored 3 goals in 26 games for Kiddiminster Harriers according to his Wiki. JET scored zero in 9 games.
  12. So that was Crawford, Oakley and Lyon scoring tonight then and Lewis McGregor looked good before going off injured at half time vs Aberdeen. Mcgrattan came on for him but didn’t really do much.
  13. You’d think we’d released Messi if you looked at the quote tweets on twitter. Ultimately an okay option from the bench but didn’t take his chances when he started and despite having something about him he too often got ragdolled around the pitch like a little boy which just won’t cut it for Imrie unfortunately. given how key new additions in certain positions are to this squad I can’t quite believe that anyone is upset at us freeing up a wage by losing Jack Bearne.
  14. Bearne released. Hopefully frees up the budget to get some key additions in.
  15. I thought Broadfoot was complaining at Corr for being dragged wide and leaving the guy free in the middle rather than being annoyed at Moffat for the pass. He definitely looks over at Corr before his huff. Corr had been left in a shit position and had to make a split second decision to stay or go and probably made it easier for them to score but don’t know how Broadfoot had the nerve to complain if that’s what he did.
  16. Has the guy Sinclair we had on trial found a club yet? Wouldn’t be against giving him a contract until January if we have the budget.
  17. Strapp scored in a 4-0 win for SJK today to go joint top of the Finnish league alongside HJK but with a game in hand.
  18. Article is extremely vague and says it will be difficult because of his wage and we will be hoping he joins because he likes Morton according to blogs he’s written. Wouldn’t be getting my hopes up based solely on that article.
  19. Looks like maybe it was him who wanted to leave. Perhaps didn’t want to be backup? would be surprised if Airdrie released him to let him join a rival but I suppose at this level beggars can’t be choosers if you think you can free up a wage to bring someone you think is better in.
  20. Todorov released by Airdrie. Could be the answer if we are looking for a big focal point of a number 9 like Oakley.
  21. Oakley scored for Ayr last night and Lewis McGregor got a hat trick on their 8-0 tanking of East Kilbride, who’s wee ned manager had the nerve on social media to say that he’s happy the team stuck to their principles
  22. Im quietly confident about the players we’ve brought in and the style of play change. We’ve got a much more balanced squad now not just in positions but also in individual play styles for different matches. We were so one dimensional last season. When you join players who are good on the ball with Dougies extremely high demands of his players and ability to get the most of of them then what’s not to be confident about?
  23. Good to have someone in the door for both roles. Financially it’s hopefully better having two roles in one although the practicality of a player/coach in reality does stir up some questions for me 1. Who coaches if he gets injured? 2. Who coaches the coach? 3. If Mullen has a bad performance or two then is it a good situation to have the person who’s potentially replacing him to be the one critiquing him? 4. If both have aspirations of being the number 1 then how can Imrie ask his coach for advice on who should be playing if the coach is one of the people competing for the spot?
  24. Nah I think he is from New Zealand or something? I didn’t really keep up with who he was when people were talking about it on here so I’m not the best to ask. I remember it being mentioned on here after the QOTS game but I was steaming that night so don’t remember the details.
  25. Morgan Boyes. Livi player that was on loan at Inverness last season. Left footed centre back that’s good on the ball who played as trialost tonight. Sinclair I think is the other trialist centre back who played vs QOTS and tonight. Looked quite impressive both games but can’t see us signing another central defender as we now have four in the squad not including someone like Delaney who can cover there.
