  1. That all sounds very positive but you still do not own the club and while we have to suffer what we are watching on the park the danger is MCT will struggle to reach further into the fanbase. Giving the management team two-years contracts is also not the best example of operating in a financially viable manner.
  2. Tick one box along the road to tangible progress.
  3. I really do not believe the fans do not want MCT to succeed especially when you consider how many continue to provide financial backing despite growing reservations about delivery. I have always taken the view it would be a long-term project but at some point you have to see some tangible progress. The takeover is still 'nearly' there, the squad is threadbare with little sign of the quality promised, the ticketing process remains an ongoing issue, marketing is almost non-existent, the website is a mess, communication is almost always reactive than pro-active... The net result is the rapid erosion of goodwill with the likelihood contributions will not be renewed never mind increased. None of this might matter to the majority of fans if Morton were winning...
  4. Thanks for that. Not a member hence I looked at the MCT website and on here for the update.
  5. What happened to the weekly update? Surely not another example of promises being undelivered?
  6. The crowd yesterday was just under 1,500 but it could and should have been more. The lack of promotion/marketing was a missed opportunity. The problems with the card readers is another example of amateur hour under MCT. If one of my sons had not been looking in on social media we would have arrived at the ground with no idea it was cash only. As for starting a season with fans unable to get their hands on new strips... I really want to buy in to fan ownership but to date it has been one misstep after another. More the same old same old than a new broom.
  7. Could someone please confirm if the much delayed new strips are available to view/touch and feel at Smiths?
  8. For a business to create a separate property holding company is not unusual. I just assumed that when the Raes bought the club this included the property assets. In the accounts for GMFC Ltd, I am sure the stadium is the single largest fixed asset. In such circumstances, the Raes as the acquiring party would under due diligence have reviewed all aspects of the title and must have known of the gap in ownership hence a bit 'strange' it was not previously resolved. That said at least it is being addressed by MCT now. Disappointing the update does not address the issue of squad recruitment. I do not expect chapter and verse on who we are after but I would have thought there was scope for some comment on why we appear to have missed out on targets to date. Are we really the bottom-feeders in the Championship in terms of contracts and money or is it linked to the delay in the takeover and no-one being willing to commit?
  9. Aside from the badge they look like different strips in the photos. Must have been more than one five year-old involved. Maybe the next job to be advertised will be a Quality Contol Officer.
  10. It is but surely something that could have been offered weeks if not months ago. Hopefully MCT learn from this and appreciate the importance of being more pro-active in communications going forward. As for the title issue this kind of thing is really not that unusual and I would have thought could be sorted with a title indemnity policy, if required.
  11. Given the timing, with the season just about to start, you do wonder what is happening behind the scenes at Cappielow? As for Morton/MCT forward planning for Gerry jumping ship...
  12. Not how it works in the real world. As frustrating as it is for everyone, we have to allow due process to take its course. It might have helped though if MCT we more streetwise on how long legals would take.
  13. Well-intentioned but to date a shambolic reactive mess with MCT guilty of the same mistakes made by those who have gone before. It is not as if the issues that frustrate the fans and members are new, they are the very same issues MCT highlighted in their launch and promised to do better. As a fan, I want to believe but the amateurish over-promising and under-delivering track record of MCT is even worse than I feared. As with most things Morton related - it is the hope that kills you.
  14. Not great but if he shows the same fight as he did on the football field he will hopefully recover soon. You would never describe him as naturally gifted but he had his moments.
  15. Although it referenced a 24-month term, I thought it also allowed the option of stopping during the period?
  16. The budget being produced by a team of four Chartered Accountants is not a meeting I would want to be at. As for the rest fair enough but remember it was MCT who trumpeted from the sidelines they would be better than what had gone before and so far has too often lapsed into the same failings as the Rae regime and GMST in terms of communication and transparency. Still no explanation for the debacle the other night - if you want to build trust at least the fans deserve honesty. As for deadlines why offer up dates if they are not in your control? I don't doubt people are working hard in the background but if they choose to make promises they have to deliver.
  17. After the debacle that was GMST anyone especially those who contributed and/or engaged has every right to point the finger. MCT has set itself on a pedestal offering to be transparent and open to the fans. The dates for delivery are all their own. Their current failings therefore rightly raise concerns. They are, however, the only show in town hence they continue to be supported but at some stage actions not words are required.
  18. I don't disagree with a lot of what you say. Despite all the promises MCT are demonstrating a worrying lack of engagement, delivery and communication with the fans. I am still willing to cut them some slack but so far they are over-promising and under-delivering.
  19. You sound like an amalgamation of Hugh Scott and DDFR with that offering.
  20. Piecemeal and reactive rather than part of a planned schedule of maintenance and investment is how it looks to me. I agree MCT has more to do but it is still early days and they have not yet taken ownership. Compare your impatience and criticism to your stance on GMST. If MCT can avoid the self-interest and incompetence of GMST they at least have a chance of making it work.
  21. Notice you never mentioned the white elephant turnstiles. As for emergency lighting and boilers are they not essential? Reactive rather than planned maintenance and investment has been the general order of play for years under the Raes. Most fans love Cappielow but most are not blinded to the lack of investment. As I said I wonder what MCT will find when they become the custodians.
  22. Doing things on the cheap is maybe understandable but can often be a false economy. Neglecting essential repairs and maintenance was a decision though made by the 'previous' owners and one the fans will now have to pay for. As and when MCT finally take over it will be interesting to see what they find when they have unhindered access.
  23. I suspect no-one saw this one - Ayr United Football Club | Duffy joins coaching staff (ayrunitedfc.co.uk)
  24. Don't get me wrong, I love visiting new venues at home and abroad but the 'groundhog day' is a strange experience. On the upside for clubs in the lower leagues it can be a bit of a cash windfall as the groundhoppers make a day of it buying everything in sight!
