  1. I think there maybe another thread around these parts more in need of your input.
  2. I agree in part but my experience, possibly rose-tinted, is that the teams I remember watching in the 70's and 80's had more local lads and players who stayed with the club for longer periods. I completely agree with the sentiment that contracts should be respected but sadly I am not sure the modern player feels the same way - Jamie Walker being a current player in Scotland taking the huff or Virgil van Dijk down south. Loyalty to cash than a badge appears to be the prime mover.
  3. In 'modern' football there is little loyalty between club and player Generally, footballers at the top of the tree right down are in it for themselves. As I was not party to what happened between the club and Fouad, I am not in a position to comment on how he 'engineered' his exit. What I can comment on is that I believe he was a talented footballer who had the potential to play at a higher level. Some fans hatred of Fouad though makes them blind to his ability and unwilling to move on. I expect very little from the players these days especially the breed that play for Morton and spend their spare time on social media proclaiming their love of the old firm.
  4. Now, now Angela - take a deep breath and settle. I understand it is tough for you to accept that Fred has been a success since leaving Morton.
  5. As much as I thought Fred was under-rated at Morton it is laughable to label him a 'legend'. Almost as amusing as watching the fluffers continue to use lots of random words to decry his footballing ability.
  6. Hold the front page http://www.chelmsfordcityfc.com/news/clarets-add-four-to-squad-1837910.html
  7. Diddy player deserves diddy team. Morton are not a diddy team. Waves to McManus as he heads to the seaside leagues.
  8. He signed a three year deal with Selkirk and to celebrate the next day he visited Harvey Nics . Selkirk binned him when his kleptomania hit the news but it was agreed to make no comment at the time. He may be struggling up top but if you ever meet him it is hard not to like the daftie - you still see him on the astro in NB kicking a football about with his son.
  9. I never said it did you liberal Belgium thin-skinned under-tall twat.
  10. Paul is not fond of many things but at least in that regard he is consistent. Strange to think that in the new world we live in Paul's views are more common than you may like - you pinko, liberal, flat-cap, brown suede shoe, mongrel that you are .
  11. I would still rather he was in the squad than McAleer and McDonagh. McCluskey may have been 'limited' but he generally gave 100% and scored some important goals.
  12. For some reason I was, until Hamilton, happy to see Kenny given another chance the following season. My main reservation was not his managerial ability but more the mumbo jumbo he came out with in his weekly pre-match interview.
  13. If you think O'Connor was testing out the lycra in that strip you should see him now! Robertson has been signed to play and coach at Selkirk.
  14. I thought both Monti and McGuff were at best average players in 'our' league. No real surprise their respective careers never kicked on when they left Morton for 'better' teams.
  15. Handy move that for Adams as he can join a flute band at the same time .
  16. For once Col I am in 100% agreement with you .
  17. He is in the Daily Record (apologies but I cannot cut and paste the link) talking about the game and how he is "readying himself for a return to St Andrews" and the other interesting comment "I deserve to be playing at a higher level". He is also quoted in another article I now cannot find on my phone! Fair play to the lad as he believes in himself. For now though I think he is a long way from the finished article. Not only does he have to improve on his physicality (his words) but his finishing is distinctly average. I have not seen enough to be convinced he will make it at Birmingham but would not be surprised if he gets an opportunity in the lower leagues in England an/or the Premiership.
  18. If McManus came back on loan surely that would mean Scullion would not get a contract extension and/or Samuel would head back down south. Personally I hope Samuel gets more game time as I still believe there is a lot more to come from him as a player. From reading Denny's comments in the papers it seems highly unlikely he wants to be around next season.
  19. Soft Cell - Say Hello, Wave Goodbye Madness - Death of a Rude Boy David Bowie - Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
  20. Found Spotify on my mobile again and can therefore offer up from last night: The Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven Bowie - Wild is the Wind Cocteau Twins - Iceblink Luck
  21. Jordan Allan played as a trialist for Selkirk today. It was also suggested that Mr O'Connor had enquired about taking some of Morton's Development Squad on loan - the offer was politely declined.
