  1. Very solid signing on paper. Probably an upgrade on Gillespie and a bit of a hard bastard which our midfield lacks at the moment.
  2. Good listen. Glad but also sad to hear they both regret leaving us. Tidser especially - one of my favourite ever players and an absolute joy to watch. Wonder if he could still do a job as he is the type of player we are missing in the midfield. Probably too old now though.
  3. Pretty happy with the signing. We've got options to change it now which is night and day compared to even 2 weeks ago. We do seem to have a majority of the squad signed up for next season too. That's Pignatiello, Baird, Gillespie, Lyon, Blues, Crawford, King, McGrattan, Muirhead and Oakley all signed up for next year from the top of my head. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing just yet...
  4. Not exactly excited by the signing. He is a bit shit from what I remember but let's see what Dougie can get out of him.
  5. https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/leigh-griffiths-wanted-greenock-morton-25601966 Griffiths incoming.....
  6. I think it's a good and sensible signing. Should be more than fine for this division. Dunfermline fans didn't have much good to say about him when he was there last year but he was partnered next to Coll fucking Donaldson and in a team attempting to play John Hughes Liquid Football (which worked out well for them) so it is going to be a totally different approach this year under Imrie. A defend your box and clear your lines approach will be fine for Ambrose and his experience and football intelligence should be beneficial.
  7. I think it's safe to say that Pignatiello is not a centre back.
  8. Agree with the majority. Imrie has plenty of credit in the bank and with it being his first summer as a senior manager then I'm sure he will learn. Getting rid of Lyon and Garrity though when you can't fill a bench is a bit mad - not saying they're deserving of a place in the starting XI but at least it would give us some options off the bench. *one available centre back. Baird is suspended and sure I seen Lithgow in a cast last week. That leaves only O'Connor if I'm right.
  9. Assuming Lithgow misses out we're going into tomorrow with 1 fit centre back and 1 fit striker. Lyon and Garrity loaned out. Be about 4 players on the bench Pretty shambolic recruitment and decision making from Imrie in the market this summer.
  10. Is today the last day we can get players in? If Imrie doesn't then it's gross negligence going in with a suspended Quitongo and Muirhead as your only strikers for the next 3 months at least. We'd as well going with that foreign striker they were talking about a few months ago but didn't want to wait on the permit....
  11. Surprised by this and probably means the end for Lyon at Morton. He's a better player than Blues and McGrattan so I'm disappointed to see him leave.
  12. It sounds to me that Gordon Ritchie was talking a lot of shite to keep us quiet/happy for the time being.
  13. Not for me but happy to be proved wrong. Haven't kept up to date with his career since he left but seems he's hardly played any games, and hardly scored any goals. If he can stay fit......I'm sure he'll be a nuisance to defenders but he's not going to get us 10/15/20 goals a season. Big meh for me.
  14. Oliver's contract withdrawn apparently.
  15. Not bothered at all with Wilson going, more the fact that QoS seems a more attractive option with him and Reilly heading there. I thought our performances dipped and midfield control was lost when he came into the team for Lyon. Definitely better out there. Fingers crossed Queens want Jacobs back too.
  16. Again I'm concerned about handing out a 2 year deal to a guy who's only really turned up since January. I'd have kept him as I think he's a decent option to have and he's scored some big goals for us in the last few years, but only on a 1 year deal. It's risky stuff signings these guys on 2 year deals who have, 90% of the time, been absolute duds. I really hope they continue to kick on.
  17. 2 year deal is madness. 2 year deal for Baird too if I'm not mistaken. Imrie has built up some trust after last season but I'm a bit concerned so far.
  18. Bit of a meh signing. Solid enough but was hoping for better. Cannot imagine we'll be playing a 4 at the back if that's now Baird and Lithgow signed up, and then possibly McLean.
  19. Not overly bothered about Russell and Ledger but really concerned that we've decided to offer the likes of Oliver and McLean new deals. Oliver in particular - baffling. If they all accept then that's us sorted in CM. Jacobs, Lyon, Blues, Wilson and McGrattan all there - it's an area we really needed to improve and it's just more of the same old. Hmmmm.
  20. Don't mind the plain yellow one. Others are a bit shit.
  21. Good content. I've slated the social media side of things so credit where credit's due, output since the turn of the year has been tremendous.
  22. Just seen the Twitter conversation - how embarrassing. Why is it taking the results of a fan survey for them to decide if we should be doing more to raise our commercial income? Baffling.
  23. Was going to the say the same thing. I've spoken on this thread a few times about social media output - that post match video is an embarrassment. Now been nearly two months since Graham Barr said social media output has to improve on the MCT Q&A. Still no improvements. I'm sure I've heard on here before that Jonathan Mitchell had to buy equipment out of his own pocket - I'm assuming the club are hanging the current social media guy out to dry as well. What do these guys do? Simple stuff that these keeps on being neglected.
  24. I'd had a look at when the Q&A with the MCT board was and had a wee rewatch- it was the 28th October so 5/6 weeks roughly. One of the questions was: What are the club doing to attempt to increase attendances? Graham Barr admits the club weren't doing enough. So what have we done since then to try and get more people through the gates? Fuck all is the answer. Content to promote games isn't a hard thing to do. It doesn't need months of preparation to get promotional campaigns for games started. Having a good product on the pitch was something he mentioned about increasing attendances. What have we done since? We've persisted with a dinosaur manager who hasn't got a clue, driving fans away with each game, yet he's still in a job. He mentions reaching out to the Inverclyde community to get them into games. Have we done anything? I don't live in the area (and I'm happy to be proved wrong here) but I'd guarantee you the club is doing nothing/very little to do that. He says the social media output needs to improve. What has changed? Nothing. As I said 6 weeks ago or so it doesn't take massive planning to get better social media content/timely news. At the moment we just get a 2/3 minute interview from Gus (to be fair, that's probably 2/3 minutes too long) from an interviewer who you can barely hear because of the background noise. It's tedious. He said they want 'new and engaging' content with insight into players/behind the scenes etc so where is it? Maybe I'm being harsh and it's not a dig at Graham Barr specifically - he's the commercial guy on the board so probably bears the brunt of my rant. But that's now 6 weeks since that update, never-mind the fact MCT have been in the door full time for 6 months or so. Then you get that ridiculous 2 minute interview with Chris Ross to which we're expected to be doing cartwheels because we've got Carol singers in next week. There just seems to be zero progress on anything at the moment - commercial side specifically. MCT are taking us for a ride in which we're expected to be happy with the absolute bare minimum.
