  1. Thanks for letting me down gently SassenachTon, it's me naw you LOL. Ah know the ponchos are a waste o' time, but I'm thinking we need to be able to provide a solution to the people or authorities who have previously stated that we need to accomodate all in the cowshed, hence the reduced capacity. At the same time, we're not in the 1970's and despite what you may think of the opposition fans being at Cappielow, we still need to provided a half decent fan experience and trying to keep people dry, should be close to the top of the list. And by that the same goes for our own fans in the Sinclair St end. The bottom line is we need to maximize this opportunity by getting as many people through the turnstiles, no matter how useless the solution may be, which also needs to be cost effective and not bust the bank to make it happen. Game at Wolves a few years back below. https://www.alamy.com/fans-sit-in-temporary-rain-ponchos-during-the-premier-league-match-at-molineux-wolverhampton-picture-date-15th-december-2019-picture-credit-should-read-darren-staplessportimage-via-pa-images-image441047445.html?imageid=9F5C23DF-AC86-47ED-8D1A-71044D657000&p=1744078&pn=1&searchId=416d738ee061af74d22049ddb44c656c&searchtype=0 Solutions on a postcard please.
  2. Anybody can be negative and try to sound funny at the expense of another. It's just down right condesending and frustrating to read. We're all pumped for the game and want to see the club make the best of it for everyone concerned. vikingTon on the other hand seems to think he's the next Frankie Boyle........aye right. Nevertheless, I'm sure he has a ton of suugestions and improvements in his funny bag, just waiting to get out and be heard. Later VT and enough of yir pish........
  3. A bit of research and you'll find that you can buy 10,000 emergency rain ponchos for 5000 quid. So all you need to sell is 250 tickets to cover the additional cost. Surely this is something worth looking at and if implemented we can forget about the reduced capacity and look forward to another few thousand people in Cappielow. I'm sure I've saw this before in the Scottish and Ingerlush premier leagues, where fans who were exposed to the rain, all got free ponchos. Speculate to Accumulate
  4. Agreed on the subscription thoughts, but that's a longer term strategy. Short term, surely and email to all members asking for a one, two or five pound increase in monthly dues would see an increase in revenue stream. As with all good campaigns, the message needs to be continually reinforced and that's up to MCT to put that in place. Not to rest on that, MCT should be working on the next plan to incease revenue. As our good friend Trvmp will verify, its all the low value contributions that make a difference. Having the base (MCT members) donate additional small amounts reguarly really can make a difference. How about monthly draws, for an addition one pound or maybe more, everyone who is in can win it, Morton goodies abviously. This can be a side bar donation on top of the main donation. The footballing equipment and gear Morton get I assume is free and so, where is the risk of making a few more pounds for nothing. The member information is all in place as is the financial information, so why not have a go, what is the downside?
  5. Suggestion from me, MCT could send out a email to all members, asking them to commit to increasing their month dues by say 10%, 15% or even 20%. Set it up by ticking the box and include the usual financial information and disclaimers to do so. So a tenner per month becomes 11 or 12 quid. Hopefully no-one would miss a quid or two and MCT could be a couple of thousand pounds better off each month. Could it be that easy?
  6. I'm with DreamOakTree, as a virtual bystander in most posts, IMO there is a significant amount of abuse directed to people connected with the club, which I feel is over the top and unwarranted...at times. To say some folk on this board have a short fuse, would be an understatement. As soon as things start to look as if they are heading the wrong way, the boo boys take to the keyboard and vent.....and vent. I myself have been subject to the trolls on the board.....and I have no idea why. Me and the family have a great time laughing about though when it does happen. I can laugh at it, as I have no agenda and have nothing to lose or gain. That said, I would think it would be the complete opposite for players and staff and I reckon the negative comments on this board and elsewhere must have a detrimental effect, irrespective of who the critism is aimed at. Any new player coming to the club, we should be wishing them well, while keeping or fingers crossed that it will all work out over the season. To be on anyone, before a ball has been kicked and being the first to say "ah telt yi, didn't ah" is merely just a self fulfilling prophecy, not helpful to anyone and just a bag o shi*e IMO.
  7. Fair point. Extremely frustrating would have been a more accurate assessment of my thoughts on the carpark topic. Good news though, WhowouldbeaMortonfan and TRVMP have had a meeting of the minds, which has to bode well for all MCT and the fan community. If we can put our views out there, respond and acknowledge without offending each other surely then we can all do the same. Still available for Friday if needed.
  8. Excellent news. I hope we can all focus on moving forward together. We have just be offered a great opportunity and now is the time to take it. We don't know about the future, but focus on minimizing our risks, work within our limits and we should be fine. As a group we have much to do, lessons to be learned and mistakes to be made. It will take time to get it right, so let's be understanding and conduct ourselves as we would expect others to. As for the car park, forgetaboutit...., it's behind and frankly draining to read about it time after time. In case your wondering, yes I am available to pick the team for Friday...LOL
  9. And then what, more bluster and allegations. For fear of repeating masel again......we're past all that and none of the above is going to make an ounce of difference. I
  10. If none of the options presented are satisfactory, given all of the time that has passed, you must have another option. Why else would anyone suggest that there is something better coming up Sinclair Street and is going save the day....It's just not going to happen. Again, IMO we have reached an impasse and your either getting on the boat or your not. As I said before, NOW is the time to act and put your support behind MCT, whatever way ownership is decided. If anyone decides not to move forward with the options presented, that's their choice. IMO, time for talk, discussion and alternative ownership is over.
  11. And your big reveal is coming when.....let me know and I'll set ma alarm.
  12. I'm simply saying IMO, I think its far too late to bring other options to the table, which don't involve GC walking away from a significant asset. Again, IMO the scenario of GC walking away is never going to happen and the sooner we get to that realization the sooner we can make the decision to prepare for next season or call it a day. The new season is a few months away and if a deal cannot be reached...well lets face it, it could be disaster. Not just in footballing terms, but I think we may not get to next season based on the current economic outlook and general malaise associated with the whole business. I really hope its not the case, but the fact is we need to make a decision now and stop greetin about woulda, coulda, shoulda. We need action NOW if Greenock Morton is to make it through this disasterous period in its history.
  13. So the fans have spoken and according to the Administrator, 80 odd percent prefer the 3rd option which is...what. Consider this option It would not be unreasonable to assume, maybe CR will simply say F*CKIT, I'm losing money hand over fist and no end in sight. Best thing for me is to shut the doors and let whoever wants to deal with it deal with it. As far as everything else goes after that, well its on them not me. If he does decide to do that, well we would be well and truly F'd. Lets be honest, end of this season, no-one on the payroll and no-one to lookout for or consider, just how hard would it be to close the place down? A lot easier than CR is getting it now. I really don't think anyone who is shouting for the 3rd option, really knows what to expect after the "deal" is done. How would you propose funding the season? How about all of the up front payments just to get the club prepared for next season...........Where is the money coming from? The club is on life-support and we really need to rely on MCT to get us the best deal possible. Now before I start getting sh*te from the usual folks, I'm simply stating an option that is available to CR. If the club was in any other business, the shutters would have been pulled down a long time ago. Ponder this though, no fans, no commercial activity, no TV, sponsorship threatened, no income....who in their right mind would want to own a football club. We're all scunnered with the situation. IMO the bottom line is we either agree to either of the options presented or walk permanently away.
  14. Apologies if that is indeed the case. Someone did, let me consult my notes.
