  1. The first few signings were good. I'm excited to see how Schwake and Pignatello do plus Baird and O'Connor seem decent. Quitongo and Gillespie just seem the polar opposite from that signing profile. We still have quite a while to go and plenty space for a few quality signings and some strong loan deals. But my confidence has taken a dunt with these two signings.
  2. I don't think Quitongo and Muirhead is a strikeforce that any other full-time team in the country would start with so I really hope there is some quality to come.
  3. They ruled not proven. There is an incredible amount of extenuating circumstances as to why he got Not Proven. The evidence is pretty damning but his partner went back to him and changed her story. No worse than what we have in our team though which is an argument that could be made. Can't write players off forever you are absolutely correct. As you say though, not good enough onthe park regardless of anything else.
  4. Quitongo has his problems on and off the field. One to be hard avoided.
  5. Fuck I was wrong as per but what a beautiful way to be wrong. Over the moon to be keeping Strapp!
  6. Would be delighted if its Hamilton, definitely a keeper. Also hoping theres another this afternoon.
  7. The most important style of football is a winning style. We are never going to be Guardiola's Barcelona and while I don't want to see route 1, a physical presence up-front who unsettles defenders and brings others into play can be extremely effective at our level.
  8. Surprised Oliver got another Full-Time team but no surprise its the worst Full-Time team in Scotland.
  9. People on Facebook, twitter and the rest need to stop shitting the bed about us being relegated unless we bring in players pronto. Its 8 days into June and we already have a few signings completed and more on the horizon. This all feels very positive and organised for once.
  10. That would be good news. Good luck to Gary if he moves on, don't think we had the space for him anymore.
  11. Two players with previous at QotS, one from Dumfries and the other from Ayrshire, I think that is the biggest draw alongside probably being their highest paid players - certainly Reilly anyway.
  12. When you have the budget we do, if you want to kick on, you need to take measured risks. Low wages with security of 2 years probably just about weigh up with the risk of more expensive one year deals. Muirhead could kick on again, if so its great. If not, we have a solid sub that can change a game. No issue with him but there are others that I'd be disappointed to see sign on again.
  13. I hope that 'in discussions' means stepping into a coaching role for McLean. Wish we could shift Jacobs as I don't imagine he is the cheapest back-up. Keeping Oliver is madness. I assume Easdale's wage isn't coming from Morton tbh so not bothered about him or the other youngsters but they could do with a loan.
  14. Stockport got skelped 3-0 by Wrexham who moved top on Goal Difference. Stockport have a game in hand though so should get across the line.
  15. If Dunfermline go down and Kelty add more players then they won't find it easy to skoosh. Their fans are moaning about being skint so if that's the case, they'll struggle to outbid Pars for the fulltime players
  16. Lowest finish in their history. Hopefully dunfermline go down and join Kelty in absolutely burying them again
  17. There's two polos, the navy one is roach agreed.
  18. Aye its a cracker, love the shade of blue.
  19. Seen that she was getting abused by that celtic z-lister Capaldi who was then exposed for having racist tweets.
  20. This has McEleney all over it, wouldn't be surprised if it was a discount rate.
  21. As both of you have said, a large part of the issue is the individual stewards themselves. Not getting paid well is shite but its not an excuse to be nasty to primary school weans. I'd have a lot more sympathy for them if they just weren't doing their job and didn't care but its the reverse thats the issue. As said above, they'll be filling Cappielow with a mix of local staff and whatever folk they can get to work at the game. The better staff will be at better paying events or higher risk events. I never worked football games because I always got offered better shifts elsewhere, imagine the other stewards with people skills are largely the same.
  22. I worked at festivals and stuff through Uni. Showsec specialise in being at the stage for music gigs. What you find at festivals is different companies are in charge of different areas. I worked for Securigroup who were in charge of perimeters and, in my case, entrances including drug/drink searches and liaison with the police. G4S are the sort of, one does all, but the reality is that you're only as good as the staff you've got and they won't be sending their finest to Cappielow. There is a relatively low risk of incidents compared to other places and its not a flagship sort of event (Merchant City Festival for example got the best staff because it paid more and had a reputation implication due to clients and location). Morton will most likely have a contract until the end of the season but they absolutely will be telling the Head Steward what they expect and then its their job to implement it into a plan. I would be surprised if it was the security firm deciding kids need to go in with adults for example.
  23. Two of the stewards were driving me and my two mates round the bend at the cowshed. One was unlicensed so probably on little over minimum wage at best but she was just constantly getting at the wee guys for standing at the bottom of the steps or for having a laugh. The other was licensed and she seemed to be itching for a reason to get involved with every little thing possible Noticed him as well, as a good guy.
  24. Its one thing being stupid enough to actually believe that, its a whole other level to being stupid enough to say it when you are managing a women's international side. I imagine, and hope, he will be out of a job by the time I next hear his name.
