  1. Not watched it yet but this is the kind of content I've been crying out for the club to start doing so well done. Finally get to see the players personalities and not just on a Saturday. The way to engage younger fans these days isn't a bog standard interview its stuff like this/fifa tournaments between players etc.
  2. Aye you'd like to think the council would be keen to promote it as well. By 2024 the only thing they'll have going for them is promoting the last remaining card shop in what's left of the oak mall building.
  3. I'm sure it will be commemorated to be fair to the club. For me it would be a massive missed opportunity not to make a big deal of the club being a massive part of Greenock for 150 years and not just that we've been a football club for 150 years. I'd hope that there would be a real celebration of the club all around town but it's down to the club to make that a reality. It's a potential gold mine in terms of business and commercial opportunities compared to a normal year so I'd be hoping that they'd already be making plans/building relationships with local businesses this year in anticipation for it rather than leaving it to the last minute.
  4. I don't think ive bought Morton merch since the pre smiths days so I'm probably the target audience of people the club want to entice to start spending their money, and if they can add some new and interesting products I'll be far more inclined now to do so than I would if the club were still showing signs of settling for bare minimum output in all departments. Ironically enough if the hat had just been on sale from the outset then I very much doubt I'd have bought anything yet at this point, including the hat.
  5. Not bought a strip in 10-15 years. Always planned to get the centenary top but was so scunnered with the club that I never got around to it so got it there along with the hat and few other bits and bobs. Definitely still a lot of room for improvement on every area of the commercial side but happy that one step forward is being made compared to the usual three steps backwards.
  6. Amazing what a decent manager, a couple of wins, improved social media and commercial activity can do. Went on to buy the glorious hat of the gods and parted with over £100 of my money on other shite.
  7. Not our ex player but Tony Watt away to Dundee utd this window in a move that all but confirms that Morton are going to win the Scottish Cup in the centenary year of their last win.
  8. Fair play to the club. They seem to have got their arse in to gear a bit more in 2022. With the positive feeling around the club at the moment they're extremely lucky to get a second bite at the cherry so hopefully they don't blow it.
  9. Sir Gavin playing at Stamford Bridge vs Chelsea. Finally found his level.
  10. Dear members, We hope you’re all well and enjoyed your festive period. Before Christmas, GMFC received an email from an individual representing an unknown consortium of businessmen. This email offered to invest money into upgrading Cappielow and its infrastructure, and in return be gifted ownership of the stadium and be given the shares to become majority shareholder in the football club. The proposed investment is much lower than the current value of Cappielow. Had this offer been a credible one, MCT would have gone out to our members and sought their views on the matter. However, this offer is not deemed to be in the best interests of MCT, our members or the football club. The club would lose ownership of the stadium, the club would no longer be community owned and there would be no working capital invested into the football club. As the nominated representatives of the club majority shareholder, the MCT board can confirm it will not be progressing any further with this offer. If the club had received a credible offer then it would be put to you, our members, for your consideration
  11. Excellent content. More of the same in 2022 please.
  12. The most annoying thing about this for me is that towards the second half of the rae era Morton fans have probably been guilty of moaning about some things through disillusionment and the absence of hope that after the fact we can look back and say we've probably overreacted due to emotion, which is the same with any club in the world. It hurts me more this time because this was our chance to move on from that and bring back a sense of hope and pride and the fanbase as a whole have more than bought in to it. The big bad fan base aren't constantly moaning now because we've given up on the idea of a successful Morton, we are constantly moaning because we want, expect and demand a community owned club to be run at the very bare minimum better than the regime we took over from. I put in my fan survey that something I want from MCT is accountability for who's making decisions on what so the members can make informed decisions on who they've elected and what they're bringing to the table. Once they've taken the notes on board about if morton fans want hats in winter or not then I hope they find the time to take that point on board.
  13. My twitter timeline is filled just now with diddy clubs making an effort to generate income. Have to go back to 14th December to get the last time the club advertised anything and that was hospitality and half price season tickets.
  14. Considering we are fan owned and not fan run I find it amazing that almost every single good idea implemented by the club has come from reacting to fans moaning on here and social media. Throughout lockdown every Facebook wife in the country had the ingenuity to start a bonus ball for some crap and made themselves a small fortune, but we can't think to offer a Strip or couple of places at hospitality for one of the smaller games etc. You're not telling me that between selling to fans and local businesses that we can't sell at least 500 bonus ball tickets at a fiver a go for two hospitality tickets that were probably going to go unused anyway. That's over 2 grand right there I've brought in to the club sitting on the couch in my boxers.
  15. Footballing giants Ayr Utd managing to do the absolute bare minimum of promoting merchandise while at the same time adding supporter engagement to the process of buying said merch. Not sure where they found two club staff, a mobile phone and a clipboard to carry out that draw when they've got a game to put on.
  16. Plans to make plans is always the answer with MCT and the Morton Board. I'd like to see some of the things they talk about actually being followed through on because right now it's an absolute shambles. Beyond pre season Christmas is your best opportunity to sell merchandise and we've done absolutely nothing. If commercial improvement isn't a priority then what is? If improved social engagement isn't a priority then what is? If having a team with the ambition to finish above 8th at the start of the season isn't the priority then what is? Why is it always down to the silent majority shareholders who don't have power at the club to point out the obvious to the front facing majority shareholders who get to spend our money while not making any real effort to improve other streams of income. MCT since you need the fans survey to explain to you what fans want, I'd like to add a comment to mine, which is Get a fucking grip!
  17. Arbroath now sold over 1000 season tickets. Very impressive. Shows what's achievable with a successful team on the pitch and a great atmosphere between club and fans.
  18. Wonder if the half season tickets for fortress cappielow are flying off the shelves this Christmas.
  19. Didn't think it was too bad and definitely their best PR move in a while. Thought it started off on a bit of a passive aggressive tone which was a bit jarring to start the first podcast with after months of communication issues, but as it went on it was interesting enough without being relevatory. There's obviously going to be close links between the MCT board and the Morton board with MCT being the majority shareholder of the club so it doesn't surprise me that they're all aware of what's going on behind the scenes in terms of running the club, but I was happy enough with it being an MCT based podcast and have no doubt that there is work going on behind the scenes to engage with fans and improve membership numbers. All in all a good first step to communicating with members and potential members and hopefully it continues. Edit: as someone who was considering stopping my payment at the end of the year the podcast along with the removal of the manager has convinced me to continue contributing so I suppose that's job well done for them.
  20. Fuck off. If true I can't believe theyve stolen another manager from us. Teehee.
  21. Oh well, it was just an opinion. Not going to lose any sleep over it. Won't be the last time i have a stupid opinion.
  22. We can discuss it at the fan parade when Tony Docherty is appointed.
  23. Taking too long to fire a manager compared to our relegation rivals and then hiring one of those said fired relegation rival managers would really be something else.
