#1133600 Morton Steward 'allegedly' assaults young QotS supporter

Posted by Clydeview on 14 February 2020 - 10:06 AM

Would agree that the boy and his pals were no doubt being pains... still can’t touch him. If he needed to be forcefully ejected from the ground the police should have been called.

Yip, not supposed to be recording matches, stewards well within their rights to ask for this to stop.

What they absolutely can’t do, is physically touch anyone, even to take them gently by the arm and lead them out of the ground. They have no legal rights to do so, unless there is an ongoing breach of the peace.

Looking at the video, looks like the stewards have stuffed up and, by taking hold of the boy, have committed an assault.

There are some absolutely horrendous stewards at Cappielow. Some are completely confrontational and appear to love the ‘power’ that pulling on a high vis jacket gives them. A few need sacked...

#1133356 Thread About Ex Player

Never been a good athlete  just because he wasn’t running about a lot doesn’t mean he wasn’t an excellent footballer at our level.

Didn’t say Tidser wasn’t a good player at our level - he was excellent at times. Fact is though, he was only playing at our level because he wasn’t a good enough natural athlete to secure a spot with an average SPL side.

When you are slow to start with... and then start to get slower with age, you end up getting released by Falkirk and signing for Kelty Hearts as a 30th birthday present!

Tidser would quite possibly have been Celtic regular for years if he’d had pace. A very talented player, but just had no zip in his legs, which is why he ended up playing at a pretty mediocre level throughout his career.

If you’re not rapidly quick these days you are going nowhere. Coaches should be honest with the numerous kids that are playing pro youth football - if you’re not fast, you’re never going to make it at a decent level.

By all accounts Tidser looked done at Falkirk this season. It’s pretty young for that, but he has never been a good athlete. Signing for Kelty Hearts is pretty much acknowledging that his best days are past him... he’s now just trying to get as much money as he can - can’t blame him. Tidser’s career was ultimately pretty disappointing, majorly held back by a lack of speed and athleticism.

How fucking shite is Peter Grant btw? Woeful footballer.

Pretty much exactly what Carlisle Utd fans wrote about him.

Ever so slightly off topic... are supporters allowed to bring golf umbrellas into Cappielow!? Know it wasn’t an issue in the past.

Posted by Clydeview on 23 November 2019 - 11:49 PM

That’s strange, because I seem to recall you under your previous Walter Mitty account claiming to have sized up posters on this forum from your usual position in the Cowshed, yet now you’ve made an improbable switch to within earshot of the directors’ box. So were you talking utter shite then, utter shite now, or quite possibly both?

A: It’s definitely both.

Believe it or not I know people that sit in the Director’s Box... and sometimes bump into them away from Cappielow!

The nature of the guy’s business would lend some weight to what he was saying... he knows his stuff when it comes to failing organisations. Quite a depressing scenario outlined.

Did speak very highly of Dave MacKinnon, but only so much he can do in his role.

This club is on its arse. Relegation will finish us off.

Pretty much exactly what I heard a couple of weeks ago from one of the old boys that sits in the Directors Box... club in hanging by a thread.

#1130578 Morton team of the decade

Posted by Clydeview on 21 November 2019 - 09:36 PM

Gaston

Pepper Greacen Gunning Lamie

Forbes Bachirou Tidser Hardie

Weatherson McDonald

Would agree with quite a few of this selection. A lack of pace in midfield, but choices are limited! Lindsay and Imrie were decent too. Peaso was a class player... and Weatherson has to be there for his scoring record.

Barrie McKay, Stuart Findlay and Lawrence Shankland all went on to play for Scotland, you insufferable fuckwit.

And where are these guys playing their club football? Being a fringe Scotland player is not a great achievement these days. They were all loan players too? Shouldn’t even count... I certainly didn’t consider loan players.

In previous decades we had players that went on to play for big clubs in England.

Millar did brilliantly for himself at St Johnstone, the peak of where he was capable of playing. Sadly we got him back when St Johnstone thought he was done... they were correct.

Shocking how bad our ‘Team of the Decade’ looks.

Not really one outstanding player there. Sums up the last decade really, absolute mediocrity.

Bachirou the only player that went on to play at a good level (don’t count average clubs in the SPL as a good level).

Seeing the earlier comments on Quitongo. Could never take to him when he was at Morton, had a bit too much swagger for someone that was such a limited footballer... turned out an even worse character that I thought.

Good to see young Lyons and Strapp breaking through now. Both technically better footballers than Quitongo was, and they seem to have good attitudes.

Bachirou was an excellent player. Wouldn’t doubt that he maybe lost his motivation in a truly awful season... was probably desperate to get away from Morton.

Undoubtedly one of our top midfielders in the last 20 years.
