  1. The sooner this whole fan ownership nonsense is fired into the sun the better for everyone.  By all means use MCT as a vehicle to supplement wages and boost the playing budget but we simply don't have the numbers required to make us anything other than a tinpot outfit for the rest of what may well be our short history.  It beggars belief how anyone could think this set up would work in the first place with less than 1000 contributors.  Dunfermline have 3000 and are hardly riding the crest of a wave.  Advertise for new owners, investors, whatever....who cares.  Just anything but MCT.

Fair enough if it wasnt those exact words, but that was the sentiment from yourself early on whenever the MCT scheme was first launched.  I was critical of the idea and execution of it, and you were critical of me for speaking my mind.  Which you were perfectly entitled to be, however what has brought about the big change in your sentiment recently?

Tbh I've became that detached from Morton I can't even remember.   I'm not being awkward, I genuinely can't.

Congratulations to all involved, but having witnessed so many false dawns over the years my optimism is firmly in the 'cautious' category. While I'm glad it's finally done and dusted, I still have my concerns about the long term viability of fan ownership, especially as many of those heavily involved are doing it only on a free-time basis, and with a part-time general manager. It goes without saying that I hope these concerns prove to be unfounded and we go from strength-to-strength, but at this minute I'm far from 100% convinced. More than happy to give the guys the benefit of the doubt for the meantime though, and of course I wish them all the best.

Ill be honest.  The only way I fear MCT will take us is on a continual downward spiral.  I've zero faith in the fan ownership model at this level therefore I'm completely underwhelmed.  I'll happily invest if I start seeing signs of progress but I won't hold my breath based on early evidence.

I remember the boy Barr talking about how there is a marketing strategy in place this year to improve club engagement and communication, we don't even have a preview of the game tomorrow! No manager thoughts on the game or his thoughts on our new signing! No match report or preview for the Hamilton game, no link to the interview with the new signing. Our news feed is mostly made up of lottery numbers. It's an absolute embarrassment. What happened to the weekly update?

An absolute basic requirement should be a match preview and report and pre and post manager interviews for every single game.

I'd guess every other SPFL team would have match reports and previews on their site.  Feck, most junior clubs do.

Why do we not have hospitality up and running like other clubs? Easy money earner.

No wonder fans just can't be arsed anymore, we are an absolute shambles from top to bottom and the club don't seem to give a feck.

    Welcome back but...

Half a dozen of us are heading to Glasgow early afternoon for a bevy.  In past days it'd have been via Cappielow but if Morton simply can't be arsed then neither can I.  The whole set up from top to bottom is an embarrassment and I'm reluctant to give any of my money over til they make it more apparent they've serious intentions about taking the club forward.

Crawford Rae has played a blinder. He transfers all responsibility for running the club to MCT while he still holds onto all the assets. Then he waits to see if MCT fall on their face where he can step back in and put the club into administration and blame MCT for the failure. MCT have be naive from the start to trust Crawford Rae he's played them like a fiddle.

Time MCT grew a pair got this deal signed or walk away.

    I totally agree.

    Welcome back, Boab. :)

The only thing is - who are these 'proper Football men' that you speak of, and are they remotely interested in buying Morton?

The one thing about this MCT outfit taking over, it has removed the albatross of the Rae Family wanting 'their' money back.

Rae turned down an offer prior to accepting that of MCT.  We've never been told the details of that offer.  Why?  I've always been curious who or whom was behind it, as I'm sure many were.  Now we're left with this shitshow.

  7. As someone who still hasn't converted his pledge i must admit I'm unlikely to do so with the way things are progressing.  Who is Gordon Ritchie?  I really want to get on board with MCT and I mean that sincerely but fuck me if they want my money they have to do 100% more to get it than they're doing now.  An appalling start to their tenure, I'm struggling to find a plus point.  Does Mr Ritchie have something to hide?  It certainly appears that way.

That's not what happened though. I am sure said poster has taken that opinion about the fan ownership scheme from the start, as he is perfectly entitled to do.

The warning signs of late, have merely compounded his viewpoint.

Exactly what I meant, thank you.  I'm dead against fan ownership at a club our size and events are unfolding exactly as I feared.  A confusing clusterfuck of a situation.  I, like others, have literally no idea what the fuck is going on.

Not arsed about the takeover, they are/have been in charge for awhile now so it will go through eventually.

It's the lack of comms on everything and anything else which is pissing me off.

Delay on season tickets, strips nowhere to be seen, still not confirmed any pre-season games, still not confirmed Colville is away. Where is Butler? Anton away? Delay in bringing in a general manager/CEO, the pathetic 2 minute interviews with Gus talking about nothing, brought in 1 new player in a month, website lacking updates all over the shop( have a look at the 1st team squad), the lack of excitement in anything we do, no teasers, no buzz on social media, the list goes on and on.

Despite banging on about communication, they are just as bad, if not worse than the old regime.

Don't need a takeover to go through to keep the fans, who are paying large sums into the club through MCT and season tickets,  fully informed and up to date.

I feel for Kingy who is trying his best to appease us the best he can.

We should all be collectively buzzing about a new campaign under fan ownership, but instead most fans are absolutely scunnered already, classic bloody Morton.

Sadly it's as I expected.  Fan ownership is the end for us.

I recall that Mike Peden appointed a manager, signed several players and had one of his company names on the shirts all whilst supposedly being the new owner of the club however the deal was yet to be concluded.

Peden was just a front for Scott wasn't he?

    Administration.

That seems the only outcome which is why I've been against fan ownership from day one at a club our size.  It'd have been great if MCT had been around years ago to be used as a vehicle to boost the playing budget but I suppose we are where are now and for me the future looks as bleak as ever.

A new badge would be an interesting idea but we could end up doing a Leeds!

If we are allowed back into the grounds as normal I'd love for a cheaper entry fee than normal for the first home game. Get Life is Life blaring as the players come out too; this is a must.

Life is life.  Jesus Christ.  That's about as appealing as VTs star brainfart.
