  1. A real heart warming tale. What a hero .
  2. Three promotions in five years???? Were there a couple of relegations in there? If not, we signed Tidser from the Swedish equivalent of Arthurlie originally.
  3. Probably not worth starting a new thread about it so this is the best place to reminisce- today's 20 years to the day since we pumped the spoon burners 4-1 at Love Street.
  4. Brian Reid is appointed manager of League One bottle merchants Stranraer.
  5. Jason Walker re-signs for Barrow. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27471953
  6. I've always felt that since they were formed from the ashes of Wimbledon, there's been a superiority complex from AFC Wimbledon fans (not that I've met too many on my travels) about how they actually formed a club and brought them through the divisions rather than just follow them and put their money in like the rest of us. That may or may not be accurate, but the "AFC" stands for "A Fans' Club" . That's enough to hate them for.
  7. On his way home??? Surely discussing someone with connections to Celtic going "home" would be the actions of one of the sectarian bigots who hounded Jom McInally out of Cappielow for being a Catholic? Was it you that Spot Ton made his allegations against???
  8. Jimmy Gourlay has just scored to put Morton 1-0 up. Hopefully we can hold on for a famous victory.
  9. Andy Brownrigg was just on Sky Sports News there discussing his depression and attempts to take his life after retiring from professional football.
  10. Paul McGowan gets sentenced today. Here's hoping justice is done .
  11. Especially with a previous conviction for police assault. Had to laugh at the name of one of the police officers he booted though- Sgt Tony Fitzpatrick!
  12. Sub-human scum. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-25403705
  13. Sean Fitzharris signs for East Kilbride FC. The senior team in the Lowland League, not the juniors.
  14. Stephen Aitken wins League One Manager of the Month for October. I'm sure if he keeps up the good work there may be bigger jobs in the future...
  15. Aye???? Where did you read that, Pie and Bovril? That really surprises me to hear that about Stewart. Certainly not the greatest player ever to play for the club, far from it, but I've never met a footballer in my life that I could say was a nicer bloke. Suppose we've all got a breaking point, but after the stick he's suffered through his career it must've been pretty bad abuse he was getting.
  16. Didn't realise he was at the wind up. I thought it was a fair point.
  17. Former Morton manager Jim McInally has now managed 3 clubs in Scotland and fucked up in the play offs with each and every one of them .
  18. About Gary? About yourself? There's only one of the three that's resorted to name calling, guess who that is?
  19. I remember saying that labelling Salty a racist when he made the point that nobody was interested in Bachirou in the summer was a despicable thing to do, but little surprise given it was Gary. We've had a mutual hatred for a long time now, much like our brief disdain for each other. To Gary's credit though, he doesn't get too upset about it .
  20. Only there's a league below the one Stranraer are in.
  21. Just turned the telly on to see ex-Morton striker Jason Walker (sure he's been mentioned on this thread at some point) playing for York at AFC Wimbledon. York currently leading 1-0 having lost 0-1 at home to the same opposition at the weekend and doing my coupon in the process. And to make matters worse, Craig Burley is in the commentary box. Not criticising the standard of football on show of course as nobody will listen to him criticising two League 2 teams the way they do up here.
  22. Think I've said it to you before, but it certainly appears a case of rose tinted glasses as regards Toto's performance that day. He was infinitely better against Dunfermline than in any other game he played, but that only took him up to the standard of adequate in my memory, and certainly not man of the match. IIRC Carlo Monti was outstanding that day, and Jonathan Mitchell, who wrote the Tele's match report listed Marc Smyth as his MOTM here. And Simmonds was booed after being substituted 72 minutes into the last game of the season relegation 6-pointer against Ayr, not about 15 minutes in.
