  1. beaten to the punch there!

    It is an issue though.

The falling attenedances and general disillusionmnet.

I reckon there is a fair share of the support who would take a cup run to promotion.

Raith have goalscorers and a settled team. Stenny are probably still celerbating Irons leaving!

  2. motherwell away twice, inverness home and away, celtic, st mirren, both home, killie away....have i missed any?

Inverness @ home we took to ET. Prob closest we came to an upset followed by last week.

Although Celtic and St Mirren scores were close, we didnt really look like beating them.

  3. thornton if thats the mark mcculloch that used to play for livingston then, back in 2004 he was never going to sign for us!

iIRC, when marc mcculloch signed, we did need a left bacl and, remembering how we signed players then, we wouldv played against him the previous season, so if he impressed against us, like weatherson and templeman had, then seems fair we would sign him.

....and i was only taking the mick with previous post!

  4. difference between monti and fred. Monti was relatively local and didnt play in a way in any game that i saw him in that suggested he was either a cut above the rest or gave anything that suggested he was giving anything other than he needed. Sorry to see him being unfortunately dealt ith, due to a plonker agent. Hope he does well.

Wee Fred came here, admittedly witha bit of pedigree from a large club, like Carlo, but at a young age to a different culture. After a slow start, became a favourite, as a result of his style and also his undoubted talent. He also made a lot of friends locally. I reckon thats why he became a cult figure. Couldv been welsh, irish, shetlander.

The fred day was about a bit more than that. I reckon it was also ton fans getting behind a fans initiative and as a wee dig at the club and also as we have had little to celebrate in a while!!

The affection for Fred is shown when it was suggested he may have gone to "them" and many were of the opinion that, well all the best wee man. Simiilar for a while to the sentiment towards McGowan.

Wee Fred was a type of talent we havent had in many years. Nowt to do with his colour or nationality.

Sometimes POTY awards arent most consistent player awards, they are about personality andangaging with fans.

Reminds me of MISC players POTY years ago. We didnt do too well. Obvious choice, our best player, top scorer and assist maker didnt get it which caused a minor stooshy, the goaly got it by a landslide. Personality and appreciation of saving us from a number of houndings!

Hope Fred does well and also Monti.

  5. agree that i would not have him back but will never take cheap shots @ Jim who served us really well and was extremely unlucky that he was not able to develop properly under a series of managers. His last season, Irons/Grady, he was pushed about and also played with some right dross, ie simmonds etc, He scored a crucial winner v thistle in the last minute too.

Always thought, if he was taken on and developed properly, he couldve been a pretty decent fullback. Mibby box to box midfielder too.

Good luck to him whatever he does. For the one(s) who take pleasure from publicly laughing at former players and their careers, i give you an irvine welsh quote:

" always remember that those who call you a one trick pony are often no trick ponies themselves."

  6. Hope you are enjoying boozy.

I'm off to bed now. If you require any info from me then could you ring in the morning and not AFTER HALF PAST CHUFN ONE A.M. YA NUTCASE!!!!!!

YOu were correct though. MISC 5s team owned the that sorry Dutch Masters mob! They have either no shame or have had it erased from their memories due to the cutting humiliation that was handed to them.

    On yersel Boozy!!

  7. Flowers in fitba taps.......drinking staropramen and watching the raaaaaeeeeeedir cup highlights.

BTW I was in tennents on byers rd before the game. Some right good ales in there. £5.49 a bottle of wine, which explained the amount of west end eccentric pensioners in reading their papers! Tam Cowan was in watching the santana game, while drinking a half shandy.....pouffe!!!!!!

    Anyway... next song...

    the coral... dreaming of you.!!

Mrs bought me the best of for ma bday. Not a massive fan. But they have knocked out some decent liverpudlianesque pop toons in their time!
