  1. That's nonsense. Duffy will present himself as having taken a club out of the seaside leagues at the first time of asking, finishing midtable at this level and then being 'harshly' punted. A sideways move to another club at this level is entirely realistic for him off the back of that.

Then he will get them relegated.

That was pretty much the cut of his jib on sportsound on Friday evening.

When asked what the the strengths of his cv were, he said Morton and, rather bizarrely, Clyde, which he saw as his greatest achievement in that he managed to reduce the wage bill.

Lost count of the amount of times he extolled the virtues of 4141 and also how he liked pace in the wide areas, playing a counter attack.

Aye, if counter attack is hoofing balls into channels.

  2. I think we'll see loads of crap 'Thistle do Nicely' headlines written by third-rate Journalists with Duffy's photo alongside soon.

Looks like Gary Caldwell is now favourite for Thistle job.

Based on. Pie and Bovril, Thistle fans seem quite taken by quitongo and he did quite well in last 20mins.

Telling comment from an Arab fan saying keeping quitongo fit might be telling for them but questioning whether that will be the case.

Given that coulibaly will be playing for them I am interested to see not only how much game time quitongo gets but how long he stays fit.

I am not convinced he will stay fit.

Might get some game time for Portugal tomorrow night.....oh aye that never happened either.

  3. Played against Ross once in the league. Made a magnificent save from his free kick in the first half but a decent free kick was about it for the day - subbed off at 4-0 down, finished 7-0.

Magnificent save if you do say so yourself!!!

He had boyhood pals who he played with for the College who looked out for him.

Ross was one of the most talented players to come from this area in the last 30 years. Sad stuff

  4. I remember Ross Mathieson playing for the James Watt college team and stopping for a fag at half time.

Wasn't exactly champions league level so not much of an unusual thing in that league or by amateur game, someone having a fag at half time!!

  5. Putting aside the judgements on his personality and character, based on pretty much zero evidence or knowledge of what he is like as a human being - and looking at it solely on footballing perforances, if this conversation took place 12 months or even 6 months ago the opinions would likely be different.

He's away to a bigger club who have been playing in the top tier for a number of years, who have a better infrastructure, decent sized fanbase and a manager who is bringing him in to form part of a team he intends to win the league with.

This is a better move for him than it is for Morton.

Oware showed in his cup performances against top level teams that he has the potential to play at a higher level than the Championship and was the integral part of a defence that performed very well over 3 or 4 seasons.

Chances are fairly high that he will be playing in the Premiership next season.

    Nae bother Tam.

  6. He's a Championship level centre back with some positive attributes, including goalscoring, and he still has a lot of learning and developing to do before he's Premiership quality. And that's before we get into his finger pointing, blame attributing s***e. As much as I'd have preferred to keep him, I'm not overly disappointed that he's gone.

    Completely concur.

    A championship level centre back.

A half decent one all the same, but nothing more.

When I heard he was touting himself to them, I thought....get him hounded!!!

  7. I'm sure O'Ware would have fancied his chances of getting picked up by a Premiership team... a poor move really, but the Championship is his level.

Agreed. I think this is his level. He had one good season, statistically. First half of it was playing with gunning. Don't think he is that brilliant positionally, although partick shipped a silly amount of goals last season.

Apparently, he was touting himself to st mirren but they didn't want him.

  8. Keenan was an impact player.

The first impact he had as a sub v qots in 2002.....straight red.

The impact he had v stirling at forthbank in 2007. On then subbed off after a truly calamitous contribution.

Hopeless player demonstrating all that was wrong with the dressing room culture under mcinally.

  9. In the Thistle game that we had to win, 2nd or 3rd last game of season, Simmonds chased back, won the ball and played a peach of a ball through for McAlister to score. Other than scoring the winner against Raith he was pretty ineffective. We were a pretty rubbish squad then though.
