Obviously we don't know what monthly sum from MCT the board were already factoring into the first team budget for this season, but regardless that is a massive sum of money. Say we're paying players £400 a week (just guessing), that's six players being covered. Imagine the shape we'd be in without that?

Could argue MCT are covering all the dead wood like Blues, McLean, Millar, Muirhead and Mcginty....

Really frustrating that we are paying out wages on players we all know are not good enough knowing it could be spent on 3/4 better players who would actually make a difference.

Wouldn't surprise me if we go into this season with no right back again whilst being  overloaded with duds elsewhere.

  2. Hope it works but members contribute around 80k a year and that can drop at any time if people cancel their memberships. Surely it needs a lot more than that to be successful??

We need more fans through the gates and more members for MCT for this to work well.

Not expecting much this coming season then, Crawford won't want to create any more debt

    Interesting times ahead.

  3. Gavin Gunning didn’t go to Them.

Heard a funny story about him this morning.

Listened to Gary McKay Stevens podcast with Simon Ferry this morning and he told a story about how Gunning turned up to the DU Xmas party without a costume. Team put a bit of pressure on him to do something to make up for it so he pished in a glass, a good half pint apparently and downed the lot.

That's the kind of leader we need right there!

    Said he was a nutter!

So where are we with the debt cancellation? It was supposed to go in tranches of each £100K received, £500K would be written off. Has the first £100K been delivered yet? If so, has Crawford followed through with the write off? If not, is there something to bind him to follow through with it when that target is reached? What assurances are there that he will, or are we entirely dependent on his word alone? Aside from the debt, what is the input to the every day running of the club now a seat on the board has been secured? What’s the channel for passing concerns from rank and file MCT members through the representatives and onto the club?

The 1st payment was 6k and was only made at the end of Aug. If that 6k payment continued monthly ( which i doubt as people have withdrew) that would only make about 24k being handed over at most so i doubt we are anywhere near the first 100k.

  5. Michael ‘King Snake’ Tidser not even making the bench for a team haplessly losing out to ‘Airdrie’ for a seaside league crown.

A terrible, wee shame all round.

Big fall out with Snake apparently after being taken off at ht last week.

Snake said he was injured but wasn't and has trained all week.

  6. That last case - he clearly didn't realise he could have picked it up.

Dunno why, I was right behind him and it was in no way a back pass and easily in the box.

If that's his excuse, we can add poor concentration to his attributes.

  7. We can pretend that it's MCT that have somehow managed to strike a deal with the board on the debt but in reality, Crawford said long before MCT was a thing that the debt would be paid off for any potential buyer so this isn't something new or inventive.

I'm investing in the hope that it helps the playing budget.

  8. He may still I guess, especially if the friendlies and cup games show up glaring deficiencies!

Ramsbottom has played a few games in the Conference at least(keeping 3 clean sheets out of 6) so hopefully he'll be good enough!

  9. Agreed. I quited like him when he was here, can't really blame him for his choice.

I see Falkirk have signed Morgaro Gomis too. Looks like a decent team they're assembling, which will make the implosion even funnier.

Aye makings of a team that will piss League 1 but AFAIK they don't have a striker yet.

Will be very amusing if they struggle to get a good striker in and feck up what should be an absolute banker return to the Championship.

Presumably they will be desperate to get that pri*k Rudden back...

  10. Charlie Telfer signs for Falkirk.

    Fraud.

Doesn't fall into the same category as the other two for me.

We treated him poorly and clearly he had to take whichever offer was available to him and you just knew the snake would offer him something.

  11. He's obviously cut from the same cloth as Scott McLaughlin, absolutely desperate to stay relevant to the Morton fans. If he scores against us next season you can guarantee he'll be giving it big licks.

You know it wasn't him who uploaded it and his mates will have made that for him to wear for a laugh??

Might not like the guy, but he's done nothing wrong here.

Ww are a very touchy bunch at times!
