    Albinson is fucking dug meat

He’s looked pretty shite every time I’ve seen him aswell, always fancied our chances when up against him when he was at Ayr & Hamilton.

  2. From Mullen’s St Mirren interview on playing in Premiership "I feel as if I’ve been ready since my first season in the Championship.” Questionable. All the best etc but annoying it’s them.

  3. Hopefully not Dabrowski, a total bomb scare. 2nd most over rated keeper in this league behind Ferrie at Queens Park.

Gutted to see Mullen move to that mob but he’s probably deserved a move somewhere over his time with us. Unfortunately that clanger against Partick finished our season off last year and I had hoped we would get another season out of him at least.

Disappointed to see Keay potentially move too as he had a springboard to build from with his performances last season. Absolutely not ready for a jump up in level this early in his career if it is St Mirren.

  4. Piss poor as per and making a rod for their own backs. We need to clear some of these absolute clowns out, thankfully Dale is on his way already so that’s a positive start.

The lack of transparency and lack of communication on anything other than early bird season tickets and “The Heartbeat of Inverclyde” patter is infuriating.

It's a sign of how bad our recruitment from down south has been that Bearne, Reynolds, and Davies are probably a slight improvement on previous recruitment (looking at Ramsbottom, Salkeld, Colville, Sterling, Allan, Oksanen, Nicholson, McCormack, Sampayo, etc.). I can't think of much beyond McEntee as being anything near successful (although I'm surely forgetting some players). Some of those were Imrie's signings, some weren't, it's been difficult for whoever our manager has been. With the recruitment infrastructure (or lack of) we have in place, I'm never convinced it's a good idea for us to be giving down that route.

Only ones that looked remotely like footballers on that list were Oksanen and Colville.

Why would Dougie need to step in and do the paperwork?

Is Dale away yet? Maybe part of the reason.

And as part of the pro licence I think there are extended roles that means he can now be more involved in policy type stuff “if required”.

We are undoubtedly thin on the ground throughout the club so it maybe ties in.

  7. Could this open the door to bring Millen back in? I’m sure the damage is potentially irreversible but wonder if it could be an option now Dale is off.

On the squad update, disappointed to see Lyall move on. If he’s going to a Falkirk or Livi then fair enough but if he’s signing for someone else at this level he would’ve been better looking for some continuity and consistency with us for another year.

  8. That’s awful news, really sorry to hear this. Always a prominent figure for as long as I can remember, even way back onto the original message board forever ago.

Condolences to all the family, and like many others I will miss his contributions on here.

  9. After reading the Q&A release I was very surprised that Laird as a Morton fan and successful businessman (citing gmfc.net) isn’t involved in having a MCT membership / monthly contribution. Especially as MCT said previously there are contributors (?businessmen) who are putting in more than the standard minimum payment.

  10. All the best to Baird, would say he’s probably deserved that move and wouldn’t grudge him it at 29 years old. He will be a tough one to replace and as mentioned before hopefully at the very least there has been attempts made at our end to keep players….Im sure we probably haven’t bothered our arse though.

While waiting for the cup final to start I thought I’d have a trawl through any communication we have had from the chairman. This extract is from him on the announcement that he would be our new chairman 18 months ago. I’d be interested to hear how well he thinks he’s done in achieving the goals he set out…

“My role will involve several key duties covering,

    1. Providing strong leadership and guidance to the Board of Directors.

    2. Leading the Board and focusing it on setting a challenging but achievable strategy vision.

    3. Overseeing the business and setting high governance standards.

    4. Develop the club and position the club to achieve its goals and objectives.

This is a community club and my vision for it begins with strengthening the connection between you, the supporters, and the leadership of the club. The fans are the heartbeat of all clubs, and you are no different. Communication and teamwork are of paramount importance, and I will be as transparent as I possibly can. Whilst you may not agree with every decision I make; I will always put the interests of the club first.“

Safe to say that those key duties should be under review as looks like a complete failure to me.

  12. Would be interesting if Imrie takes the Partick job and we then get an open and honest account of what’s actually happening from him. It would carry a lot of weight with us I reckon.

This motion being touted absolutely has to be voted as a No and the culprits behind the whole debacle emptied. They absolutely cannot be anywhere near it after what’s went on. If they are still in place they will rightly be hounded by the fans when games come around.

  13. Dougie openly said at the Q&A that he has applied for various jobs in the past and he is aiming to manage at the top of the game, and rightly so. If he goes to them, it’ll be disappointing but wish him all the very best and the effort he has put in here has been tremendous.

The frustration is if we were in a position to really back him financially he would probably be the one to take us up. I always felt nicking into the playoffs under Dougie would be the way to see us promoted as he can always get that wee bit extra out the team.

Some absolute bumpers on fb saying they’d take Brian Graham as our new manager. Have a word with yourself.

No but his contract runs out in June so whilst there should have been some sort of statement especially with the negative press around it, on Morton's current standards it was never likely until it's actually expired.

The best we got was director/ex director/director/ex director Stuart Duncan on the 3rd of May making a snidey comment about it on Facebook, saying Andy’s contract had come to an end and ignored the situation that happened after the game.

  15. Really disappointing that nothing has came from the club over the last few days. Also, we were told the transfer embargo doesn’t have any impact on new contracts but absolutely no update on that front by now doesn’t look great. I understand the budget may be up in the air with this clusterfuck of a situation that’s ongoing but if Dougie does go to Partick and with Millen away it’s not a great start.
