Whilst I understand that we could get a student to do the work, I would prefer us to pay people properly for their work where possible. I wonder if Murray wants Sports Science to play a stronger role in his management of the team and, therefore, has different needs than the previous regime.

So we would still technically be employing them as a “Sports Scientist” as they would already have that undergraduate degree and be registered to practice as one. Some will go back and do a post grad or masters in research (can specialise in certain sports and elite teams/academies want the masters now) and it’s quite common to work alongside it. We appointed the boy Watkiss from Ayr as Head of Sports Science a few months back but can’t remember seeing him for awhile now?

Graham Barr took responsibility for his part in the communication issues between the boards and apologised at the time.

By all accounts since election of the new MCT board they have had a positive experience dealing with Barr and his communications with them have been good.

Back in May I would have put Barr in the same category as Robinson and been in favour of binning both, but based on the above I would now be fine with him remaining - especially if the MCT leadership who deal with him day to day are in favour of it.

Whereabouts did Barr apologise? There was a joint statement that came out with a form of an apology in it but don’t remember it being specific to one person? Otherwise I can’t seem to recall very much, if anything publicly coming from either individual since.

Interested to hear the thoughts on the positive experiences and better communication from Barr and the new MCT board too.

For me, they’ve still both got to go.

  3. Fantastic news, just another couple to go 👏🏻

Would be interested to know in that joke of a statement how it’s impacting his business interests when there was no conflict of interest confirmed when clarification was asked for? Maybe looking into that too much.

The brass neck of that parting shot is wild though. But at least he’s actually away and we all know the truth, if other fans think we are a shower of pricks then I’ll take it.

We need to get the next one and manager appointment right 🙏🏻

Love this from Jon Connolly above!

  4. Whether he’s knocked it back or whatever, at least it wont be him coming in and hopefully he takes the Ross County job.

I think it’s been alluded to that it’ll be someone with limited experience with them leaning on Davies for advice etc. I would take Arfield if it means he’s a player/manager. He will be strolling this league like he did last season so that would be an obvious positive to that appointment.

Chat from Davies in hospitality a few weeks ago was that big changes are afoot in January so will need to see what that means. Obviously skeptical as I know we can’t have nice things unfortunately.

  5. Scudded 5-0 and roll out Miller to do the post match interview? If Davies thinks he’s too good for a job at our level then he’s beyond deluded. We have played some nice bits in games under him, 10 minute spells of decent attacking football doesn’t cut it.

We obviously need to appoint someone properly as soon as possible but the powers above really need to do one. This needs to change!

  6. There was an issue with them receiving emails (we’ve heard this one before) earlier in the season but we eventually got it ironed out for player sponsorship. It absolutely took longer than usual this season but it’s always been pretty easy in recent years, with the club invoice usually fired over rapid.

  7. Played some really nice stuff but getting suckered by that prick McGinty was a tough one. Thought Storer should’ve saved it but would need to see it back.

McGinty at the end celebrating like he’d won the Scottish Cup was telling of his career as a professional footballer. Also the weird and randomness of Dylan MacDonald (I know, I had to google who the fuck he is too) getting so involved with us a few times now seems bizarre, trying to stick it up the Cowshed at the end and got booked alongside McGinty.

Great to have another turnstile fiasco in the worst weather we’ve had in ages. Didn’t see any officials from the club around to solve that issue, but instead sent a volunteer, SLO up and down the queue to apologise and face a pissed off crowd. Poor all round.

  8. Defensively a total horror show on those highlights. Shocked at how bad Murdoch has looked in the two games this season, especially considering how well he done last year. Corr also looks way off it which has been frustrating as it seemed like there was big potential there when we signed him on the 2 year deal.

Offensively we should’ve stuck a few of those chances away, unsurprisingly Gaston still doing the business against us too. That finish from Robertson was a beauty though 👏🏻

  9. The word “race” makes it look like there’s some urgency about it, more like a very slow saunter. Not that bothered as keeps the continuity of Davies there a bit longer.

Not really seen any outstanding candidates yet and the fact McPake and the likes are still out of a job 12 months after his Dunfermline exit says it all for me. This is a collective board decision and not the chairman? So hopefully it’s done properly, it has to be done properly.
